Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on May 8, 2025May 8, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 PRINCE TYCOON has been impressive at the jumpouts and looks hard to bet on debut. GREEN SPACES had no luck on debut and will strip fitter for a good return with blinkers applied SALTY PEARL was beaten by a fast, in-form galloper first up and will be improved by that run. ROSANGELA was heavily backed behind LATIN BOSS first up and both have claims. Selections: 8,2,9,11 Suggested Bet: Prince Tycoon to win Race 2 ZIRYAB is hard fit, can make his own luck and is racing in great form. FERNAO has maintained his good form since arriving in Vic and looks competitive again. Inclined to forgive SAVOIR FAIRE at Mornington and his previous run reads well for this. GOLDEN CRUSADER and GALILAEUS are in the mix. Selections: 1,6,3,2 Suggested Bet: Ziryab to win Race 3 PREFERENTIAL continues to race well, she may settle closer from the inside draw and will be strong late coming back to 2000m. SAMUEL LANGHORNE has jumped out well and generally pulls out a decent run first up in this distance range. NEARING LIBERTY may need some luck from the draw but will strip fitter after two solid runs this prep. MR BUSTER is right in the game if he gains a start. Not sure what to make of FREIGHT TRAIN’s most recent runs but he has obvious talent and maps to do no work. Selections: 16,6,15,19 Suggested Bet: Preferential each way Race 4 MADIYYA is one of a few with plenty of upside and inclined to think she’ll measure up after easy fill last time. TERILEE also looks promising and she should relish the step up to 1400m after her impressive maiden victory. STORM SEASON has shown talent and looks suited coming back to 1400m. FOREVERINTIME has had excuse at her last couple. ROCKIN’ AT MIDNITE has some claims and gets blinkers back on. Selections: 6,5,4,1 Suggested Bet: Madiyya to win Race 5 EXTREME VIRTUE raced through the grades in good style last prep and has been jumping out well to resume at a suitable trip. SIRIUS STATEMENT is flying for the new stable and looks hard to beat again. LOVAZOU races well hear and is another fit, in-form galloper. CINEMATIC STAR is unknown at this trip and gets there early in the prep, but the stable have a lot of data on their horse she maps for a great run after an encouraging return. Selections: 6,8,3,16 Suggested Bet: Extreme Virtue each way Race 6 MARY ELIZA looks promising, she had no luck first up and gets right down in the weights after the claim. I ONLY WISH is racing through the grades in good style and can measure up to another rise in grade. FILIO D’ARGENTO showed some tactical versatility last start and gives the impression this trip will be ok. IN HER EYES, MUIRFIELD, LADY SADLER and NARBOLD are among the other hopes. Selections: 11,10,5,9 Suggested Bet: Mary Eliza each way Race 7 AMBASSADORIAL has been good at both runs for the new stable and can control the race from the front. RUAKAKA RAIDER has been given a couple of quiet jumpouts and appears to be going well to resume at a suitable distance. SABAN will strip fitter second up after chasing a smart one first up. CARINI is a likely improver second start for the new stable. Selections: 9,13,11,2 Suggested Bet: Ambassadorial each way Same Race Multi: Ambassadorial (Top 2) + Ruakaka Raider (Top 4) Race 8 WAR MACHINE was luckless at Mornington first up and the likely solid tempo should help offset the wide draw. ELOUYOU showed some tactical versatility last start, he’ll be somewhere near the speed but has the ability to come back a pair or two if needed. THE OPEN had excuses first up and has trialled well since. NICOLINI VITO and REGAL VOW have claims. Selections: 8,15,12,3 Suggested Bet: War Machine each way Race 9 PIVOT CITY looks had to beat after arguably taking the wrong option entering the home straight at Bendigo and that form has held up. PRANCING SPIRIT had no luck at a crucial stage at Mornington and is drawn for clear air with the wide draw from the chute start. OH TOO GOOD is a beauty and has been jumping out well for her return. CODIGO and WINNASEDGE are both fit, racing well and have claims again. Selections: 10,14,3,11 Suggested Bet: Pivot City to win Market Market
