Warren Huntly’s Saturday Mornington Preview Posted on April 17, 2025April 17, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 PRESTIGE SNITZEL comes the strongest form lines, she can push forward from the draw and gets a tongue tie on. TORONADO QUEEN won ok on debut and the second horse has since won. THE OPPORTUNIST didn’t have the best of luck in the home straight first up and will strip fitter. KALEO has jumped out ok. Selections: 8,9,1,4 Suggested Bet: Prestige Snitzel to win Race 2 MATAWAI is racing well, can maker her own luck and gets in well after the claim. SIRUIS STATEMENT is racing in good form the new stable and can measure up to this slightly stronger company. DIVINE THOUGHTS will give a sight. FEARLESS WRITER drops in grade and is a winner here. Selections: 2,4,6,3 Suggested Bet: Matawai each way Race 3 CARINI is an interesting runner for the new stable. He has jumped out well and lines up with a number of gear changes including blinkers back on. VERDAD has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs, expect him to roll forward and be hard to beat. EUPHORIC gets blinkers off and has been freshened, a clean get away would help his cause. FIASCO TESS is fit, racing well and is in the mix. Selections: 1,2,4,8 Suggested Bet: Carini each way Race 4 SAVOIR FAIRE will strip fitter for his latest effort, he’s been kept ticking over with a jumpout between runs and stays down in the weights after the claim. FOUJITA SAN is likely to strike his preferred dry ground and maps well. IMMEDIACY was strong through the line first up and looks suited by the rise in distance. PROMISES KEPT has had a busy prep but gets the norton bit off and has a touch of class. Selections: 7,3,4,2 Suggested Bet: Savoir Faire each way Same Race Multi: Savoir Faire (Top 2) + Foujita San (Top 4) Race 5 CHINQUI looks set for a good run just behind the speed and has jumped out nicley between runs. GRACIE’S RAIN is fit, in form and also should secure a good run near the speed. KIKO has been freshened, will be strong late and any during the meeting would aide her cause. BLUE STRATUM has trialled well to resume gelded with blinkers off. Selections: 4,1,2,5 Suggested Bet: Chinqui each way Race 6 VESTAS was caught in the wrong part of the track last start and happy to forgive that run. She has shown an abundance of talent and the tongue tie and winkers come off. CHEWING GUM didn’t have the best of luck in the home straight in the same race as THAMES last start and both have claims. MCKEYLA is another that comes through that race and is in the game. BRIDAL WALTZ comes through the same race as Vestas first up and also appeared to be in inferior ground. ROCKIN’ AT MIDNITE gets a tongue tie on and will strip fitter for her first up run in the Chewing Gum etc race. Selections: 1,6,5,2 Suggested Bet: Vestas to win Race 7 MARY ELIZA has some upside and has jumped out well to kick off at a suitable trip. FEAR NO EVIL is racing through the grades well, he has race fitness edge and will make his own luck. MOVIN OUT will strip fitter third up and is sure to appreciate the significant drop in grade. SNEAKY SUNRISE may have had excuses on the deteriorating track last start and her previous form reds well. EXPRESS GUARD takes another rise in grade but has retuned in good form and may settle closer from a favourable draw. Selections: 9,7,11,2 Suggested Bet: Mary Eliza each way Race 8 BERKSHIRE BREEZE looks the obvious and with any luck from the draw and should prove hard to beat. It’s likely JUST FINE, who will give a sight, should ensure a reasonable tempo to help offset that draw and give him his opportunity. NIGHT ENDEAVOUR and QUE TEMPESTA, who gets a near side blinker on, come through a bunched finish in the Easter Cup but have some claims. Selections: 6,9,1,2 Suggested Bet: Berkshire Breeze to win Race 9 WAR MACHINE is generally effective first up and has jumped out in good style to resume. BANK MAUR also brings a decent first up record, he returns gelded off the back of a solid jumpout and has a touch of class. REGAL VOW will strip fitter and any rain during the meeting would advantage her. OSCAR’S FORTUNE, SHE DANCES and HEDGED have a case. Selections: 4,7,6,1 Suggested Bet: War Machine each way Race 10 PRANCING SPIRIT look set for a good run from a favourable draw after arguably not having the best of luck last start. AVEBURY resumes for a new stable with blinkers off and has jumped out well enough to respect. LULU DARLING is likely to roll more forward here and get down in the weights after the claim. NAMESAKE is fit and racing well. WALLENDA may not have been able to find the right part of the track last time and his previous form lines up well. HARRY GOT STYLES backs up quickly after running out of room first up but has a slightly awkward draw. Selections: 2,7,10,8 Suggested Bet: Prancing Spirit to win Market Market
