Scott Embry’s Thursday Narrogin Preview Posted on April 9, 2025April 9, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SIROTA won a C2 1850 at Barker earlier in this preparation and then finished only a head off Mr Talentino at Belmont in an open 50+ handicap (very similar grade to this). Hasn’t raced at the same level in his last three outings but this is a noticeably drop in grade and Alex Hearn the right kind of rider for him. MOLLYS MY PAL is a last start maiden winner this track/distance and can win again. MINE HOST better for the run over the trip. NORMA STARS ran well last start behind an in form Zera Blue. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – SIROTA WIN RACE 2 JOLLY LACE was 51 days between runs when second to subsequent 60+ Graduation winner Warralea Lass and then was another 27 days between runs last start when romping in this track/distance/grade by an extending 3.5L margin. Rises 3kg which is a significant penalty but is still the one to beat. HOLDOUT finished third in that race and now meets Jolly Lace 5kg better. SIDE SHOW Is really well placed. HEAPS OF MOLAH comes back in distance and will look to cross. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – JOLLY LACE WIN RACE 3 ENDLESS JOY is getting closer and closer to breaking through for a maiden win. Bombed the start at Geraldton first-up and ran home well into third, beaten narrowly by subsequent winner Snipperando two back and last start was only run down late. Back in distance, rock hard fit, looks a good chance for her. ICANDOIT ONMYOWN is out in trip but liked the filly’s first-up run and Austin Galati is a key booking. HEZA GRUNT is racing like the added trip will suit. OUR SIRI an improver. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – ENDLESS JOY WIN RACE 4 FAVOURED SON finished third behind Awesome Boy and Shamilian Miss first-up at Pinjarra and then last week was in the 1000m straight race where plenty of them lost touch with the leading brigade in a forgive. On the back-up, off to a maiden handicap and drawn to settle right on speed. Like the set up. GINGERIFFIC is a 2 year old filly taking on the older horses. Was only 3L off Snitzalatte and now has blinkers. Big respect. SAUCISSION was good on debut. MANTA RAY BAY is better than what he produced last week. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – FAVOURED SON WIN RACE 5 OSCAR CHARLIE couldn’t get anywhere near the lead last start and that was his race over and done with. Aaron Pateman makes the call to put the wife back on and surely that signals intent to charge forward from the wide draw? Will have to burn the candle at both ends but he goes lengths better on pace than off pace these days. GOOD VIBES and TEABISCUIT are both last start winners who will also attend to the early speed. QUEEN OF HAWKS can park in just behind them and stalk. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – OSCAR CHARLIE WIN RACE 6 PRETTY DEVINE finished second in a near identical race to this three back behind Wise Words and since then has finished a narrow second to Winning Aces and then another narrow second to in form galloper Dug Another Hole. She’s versatile, she’s tough and she’s having her 17th run of the prep and continues to go well! THE COOLAKIN KING was simply too quick for them at Albany. Jump and run. SPEED BUBBLE suffered his first Narrogin defeat of the campaign last start but lost no admirers. TOO MUCH TALK is ready to win. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – PRETTY DEVINE WIN RACE 7 CHERYLS SHOUT trialled well over 1000m at Belmont Park and then toyed with rivals first-up. Led, won and stopped the clock a staggering 9L faster than maiden handicap average. Simply have to follow her off that performance and Mack Hall’s team couldn’t be going any better: last 90 days = 6 winners with a POT of 28%. WORK HOME FRONT and SEND IT SON are both capable but both have really tough draws to contend with and will have to work hard to get across. PAVLIANI a watch. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – CHERYLS SHOUT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 5,10 1,3,4,7,8 1,2,3,6,8,9 5 Market Market
