Scott Embry’s Thursday Albany Preview Posted on March 26, 2025March 27, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LYNS STAR finished just behind Bulls Eye Perfect last start in the race won by Mistress Of War. She comes back 100m in distance and from the draw should hopefully be able to settle at least a pair closer. Getting closer to breaking through. BULLS EYE PERFECT is a 7 year old maiden who seems to find a way to get beat but he beat a few of these home last start and meets them considerably better at the weights with Rocky going on. BATTLE ON BATTLER was in the same race and was 77 days between runs. INSPIRATIONAL MAC is really one paced. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – LYNS STAR WIN RACE 2 KAMIKAZE FIGHTER broke his maiden in style and then went to a 52+ 1720 at Narrogin when beaten a long way. That race turned into last man standing (first 1000 run over 25L faster than average) and he simply didn’t run out the trip. Back to Albany, back to 1500m. ALOTTA DANE was set a task at Ascot but still ran really well. Always a query on the form when a 200-1 pop wins though. BLING BEACH has improved since joining Bec Bayliss. SNIPPERANDO broke her maiden well. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – KAMIKAZE FIGHTER WIN RACE 3 KINGS ARTILLERY was good first-up behind Canny Rock (now a 60+ Graduation winner). He’s a month between runs into an Albany maiden and after the ZJP claim he drops 1.5kg coming into what on paper looks an easier race. Great chance in this. GOD HAS DRIFTED has had excuses his last two and should have finished much closer on both occasions. Big danger. HEEZA BEAU improved second-up and now heads back to Albany. WINEACLOCKSUMWHERE can kick through to lead. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – KINGS ARTILLERY WIN RACE 4 ALMOST ARTIE was a handful in the mounting yard leading into her WA debut. Run was better than it looks on face value and they’ve gone 3L faster than maiden average at Ascot. Worth following back to her home track. Pre-race ear muffs and the tongue tie being removed should both help. DESERT MADAME was well supported first-up and ran well enough to suggest she’s the danger. GINGERBREAD GIRL has shown glimpses at trials from time to time. LADY COCO should be able to lead early. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – ALMOST ARTIE WIN RACE 5 GAGE ROADS finds clearly the most winnable race of his preparation. He’s hard to catch, he’s hard to trust, he’s often hard to ride – but there’s no Sail Sessions / Shmoov Moova’s / Secret Attractions or Gi Gi Pops in this. CHANTEL is getting closer and drops 5kg with Rocky’s claim. MAGIC MIKEY continues to run consistent races deep into his prep (11th up here). PRAY AGAIN is even less trustworthy than Gage Roads! Does have ability but his best and worst are 10L apart. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – GAGE ROADS WIN RACE 6 I DREAMED A DREAM is on the 5 day back-up from racing at Ascot in a 66+ 1800m. His last two runs at Albany have both been 64+ 1920/40m wins. Well placed, well weighted after Rosie Mahony’s claim and is versatile. MANAVENDRA has been going well all prep in much harder races than this. He won an Esperance Cup in March 2024 and has been around the place in town ever since. BIG SWOOP rolls to the top and gives plenty of cheek. RED DWARF will need a good ride from barrier 1. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – I DREAMED A DREAM WIN RACE 7 CALL OF DUTY trialled better than Rope Them In and Almighty Class leading into his Steve Wolfe debut. Anyone that watched the trial was desperate to back him first-up and he didn’t let punters down with a 1.5L victory. See no reason why he can’t measure up in a 58+ (and better in time). FLYING SOUTH has had a long campaign and has a tricky barrier to contend with coming back in distance. MORGS FREEMAN drops out of a Bluff Knoll back into a 58+. Nice aggressive placement. MOORDITJ BOY will keep improving. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – CALL OF DUTY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 –7) 3,5,7,8,9,10,11 1 1,2 4 Market Market
