Scott Embry’s Saturday Narrogin Preview Posted on December 20, 2024December 20, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RIBELLATO finished third behind Antz Pantz Baby and subsequent winner Summer’s Legacy, ahead of another subsequent winner in Hot Like Chili two starts back before heading to the staying trip last time out when finishing a grinding fourth. Back in distance, off to a maiden handicap and has Tash Faithfull aboard. Lots to like. BEEJAY BOY has shown a little bit here and there and was a cheeky run last start into fifth. PAMPER ME did win a 1450m trial leading into her debut (as a 5 year old mare!). IFFUBLUSH should be running well in this. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – RIBELLATO WIN RACE 2 HOT AIR BALLOON won a recent 950m trial at Lark Hill by just over 4L. The blinkers are on for her debut, she’s well placed into a maiden handicap as a 3 year old filly getting in with only 56.5kg and from the barrier she should get the right run. Nice race for her. CAPABLE ANGEL has been well supported on multiple occasions throughout her career and has plenty of speed when they elect to use it. Should be in front for a long way here. KIA ORA KOE finished second in a recent trial where the top two got well clear of the chasing brigade. NO ROMANCE wasn’t disgraced behind Lipstick Jungle and Extra Zero. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – HOT AIR BALLOON WIN RACE 3 TROOPER PHOENIX trialled on Monday and was only three quarters of a length off a promising galloper who went through the grades on the Goldfields in Don’t Wait For Luck. Commands respect even considering that his best will be over much further than the 1190. SCHUHBECK has won once from 33 outings, but run second on a further 10 occasions, including last start when running home powerfully at Albany. Deserves to win another. REAL SENOR might take a run to produce his best. CHAD’S ME DAD is racing below her best. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – TROOPER PHOENIX WIN RACE 4 UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY can be hit and miss, but as we saw at this first outing for Anthony Barton back in June he’s more than capable. That day he was $21 into $5.50 and ran third behind Capre Omnia and Invincible Ruby. Hasn’t fired a shot since, but this is a massive drop in grade for him. CRYSTALIST was a strong winner at Toodyay back in September and this race is no tougher on paper. GRACE ROSE won a very similar contest to this two starts back. ALBERT next best. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY WIN RACE 5 BLAZING TYCOON won a 58+ 1720 at Narrogin on 3 November when beating Highboy and Keytrade impressively under 59.5kg. After the Kristo Sardelic claim he will still lump 62kg here but this is a 52+ and a race where a lot of horses are out of form. Think he can carry the weight and win again. BILLY JACK surprised a few at Albany at $16 two starts back when beating Hear Me Sing. Reproduces that performance and they’re running for second. Just struggles to put two together (as we saw last start). SABINO is going well and has 7kg on the stablemate. ROCK OF KAHA next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – BLAZING TYCOON WIN RACE 6 BERRY BERRY GOOD resumed first-up at Narrogin in a 52+ when beaten a nose by Zac Luvs To Fly in a deceptive photo finish. Second-up went to Pinjarra and raced down the 1000m straight and was never in the contest at any stage. Back to Narrogin and likely to go around eachway. Like the set up. GOOD VIBES broke maiden status here at Narrogin. That’s a big plus. HERE NO CASH is racing better than it reads. DO DA DITTY is a consistent type out of Albany. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – BERRY BERRY GOOD WIN RACE 7 MAGIC MIKEY won his first race in WA last start taking out a C2 1920 at Albany. Beat key rival High Precision in that event and think he’s on the up. This is no harder, Ashleigh Woollett’s team is going well and he’s a proven stayer who can be put into the contest when they throw out the anchor in the middle stages. HIGH PRECISION will get every chance along the inside. LADY OF BABYLON hasn’t won a race in an eternity but for a 46+ at Narrogin she’s actually going along alright. SHAOLIN TEMPLE gets back to the 46+ races that suit him best. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – MAGIC MIKEY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4,6 1,4,6 1,2,3 2,4,5,10,11 Market Market
