Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on November 29, 2024November 29, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 AL UNIQUE stepped to 2100m two starts ago and finsihed off hard into third behind Choice Thinking and Ah Kum. Dropped back in distance on Melbourne Cup Day over 1800m and ended up in a bumping duel with the favourite Mythical Dream and was pushed back inside runners on straightening. Looks the right form to break through in a thin maiden. KNENTII is fully fit now and should be able to roll to the top and control the race. Grinding type of staying maiden. DR MANETTE is going along alright. ROYAL TROOPER may need another prep to figure it all out. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – AL UNIQUE WIN RACE 2 OUR SHILLAYLEIGH made his debut down the straight back in June and ran a narrow second. Didn’t mind the trial, didn’t mind the fresh run without that much luck and thinking that we’ll get an eachway price due to the depth here. One of many, many chances. MT SHIRATAKU has trialled really, really well and has been the kind of horse that most punters would have been waiting to back on debut, however, drawn barrier 1 on the ‘wrong’ side of the Pinjarra straight is not an easy task. ZIPPY ZANY ran some handy races as a 2 year old filly. POINT OF CONFLICT won’t be a maiden long. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – OUR SHILLAYLEIGH EACHWAY RACE 3 ROCKIN’ ROBIN might want a touch further than 1000m but he’s drawn wide which is ideal and he trialled behind what could be a sharp filly in Cosmic Spirit and finished just ahead of talented stablemate Busy Fingers. Happy to follow that trial form. DARK OPAL was a great run on debut at 80-1. OUTLAW MUSIC is quick and may look to burn across and try to find the outside fence. SUPER SNIPPY has been down the 1000m straight four times and never missed the money. He’s always there abouts. Numbers: 8 – 15 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROCKIN’ ROBIN WIN RACE 4 OISIN trialled well behind Enchanted Miss at Lark Hill over 950m and looked like the kind of galloper who would appreciate a bit of ground. This is not a very deep maiden that he strikes on debut and if he was to find a forward position expect him to run well. Brad Parnham would have had three or four options in this. KARNUP QUEEN ran fourth on debut behind Magna’s Choice and God’s Gate when extremely green and wayward. At her second up run she finished third to Helluva Goddess when tramping wide throughout. Has ability but barrier is the big negative. LUNCH IN PARIS was solid throughout last campaign. PERFECT RULER has been trialling well. Numbers: 10 – 13 – 12 – 11 Suggested Bet – OISIN WIN RACE 5 COSMIC SPIRIT looked the goods at trials. She extended away under no riding from CJP and was too sharp for Durrant pair Rockin Robin and Busy Fingers. She’s drawn a gate, 3 year old taking on the older horses in an all age maiden, Micky G & CJP, there’s a lot to like and this filly could be good. NORTHERN DIAMOND is a big filly who will keep improving with racing and experience. Similarly, WHAT’S THE POINT was hammered in betting when making his debut (at the second attempt). He still has a lot to learn and does a lot wrong but you can see there’s something there. STAR PROPHET is nearly out of chances. Numbers: 16 – 12 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – COSMIC SPIRIT WIN RACE 6 VIRIKAH sat wide throughout in a 1675m maiden last start and beat home subsequent winner Antz Pantz Baby. She takes that awkward step into a C1 and rises 2kg and is again drawn wide but thought it was the maiden win of a tough mare who could go on with it through the lower grades. LIEN HYPHEN finally got one on the board at Narrogin and has returned in career best form. UNI STRIKE really powered home at Ascot on Cup Day. AMAZING CHEAT is racing consistently well. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – VIRIKAH WIN RACE 7 LOST GRAVITY loves the 1000m straight at Pinjarra and his last start performance in a C3 1000 at Belmont behind Shooting Spirit and key rivals Cheeky Charlotte and Butterfly House put the writing on the wall. CHEEKY CHARLOTTE is jump and run and those gallopers are typically suited to the straight, especially when they can find the outside fence. JUST SAINT JAMES is savaging the line powerfully and broke his maiden down the straight. Tick. BUSTERS FREE went super down the straight for Harro. See no reason why it wouldn’t be the same for a new stable. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 4 – 13 Suggested Bet – LOST GRAVITY WIN RACE 8 TON OF GRUNT has returned in good order and should be just about ready to show his best here. Drops down to 57.5kg, has a set of blinkers on for the first time and has been winding up strongly late giving the impression that 1500m will be just about perfect for him fourth-up. Right map, right set up. BELTA OF A SONG just continues to raise the bar. She’s gone from a maiden to a C1 to a C3 and won three in a row. She can win again on the 7 day spin. NOTEWORTHY hasn’t shown her best yet this preparation but this is a big drop in grade for her. MY JIMMY is a nice type resuming. Numbers: 8 – 13 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – TON OF GRUNT EACHWAY RACE 9 PAPAVERO PRINCESS only had one run last campaign and it was well below her best. Take that away and she has a wonderfully consistent record to her name and her recent trial with Saulok suggests that she’s back to somewhere near her best and that’s good enough to win this. RIGHT TO SILENCE put in a blinder at 150-1 fresh, didn’t get much luck second-up and then held her own behind Six Shooter last start. Maps to get every favour. SAULOK showed plenty on debut. Forgive last prep. FAMOUS DREAM will continue to improve. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 4 – 16 Suggested Bet – PAPAVERO PRINCESS WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,6,7,9,10 2,4,10,13,14 2,8,13 4,7,8 Market Market
