Scott Embry’s Tuesday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 4, 2024November 4, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DANEA ROCK was 100-1 into 20-1 second-up when narrowly missing behind Starwalker in a key form reference race. Last time out made a sweeping run forward but peaked badly over the last 200m. Should be ready now and Troy Turner is a very good staying rider and takes a book at Bunbury over Ascot. FLASH OF DALLAS looked to have found her race last start but was unable to go with either Starwalker or Danea Rock late after looming large on straightening. LATE FLYER wants every inch of 2000m. COVENTRY REEF is now a 23 start maiden but has gone close to breaking through on numerous occasions over the years. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – DANEA ROCK WIN RACE 2 ADMIRE THE GIRL comes through the Magna’s Choice / Ripper Farooq Race which was run 12L faster than average and was the highest rating Northam maiden of the last 5 years. No doubt regardless of the wide draw that punters will be lining up to back her, just as they were with Ripper Farooq when he stepped out ($3.50 into $1.50). BATTLE ON BATTLER has run into The Merryman (Fairetha Stakes bound) and Flower of Gold (Burgess Queen bound) in two runs back. ZOUCONI got caught wide first-up behind Surfside Session and battled on alright. BOYZ LITE UP is accepted at both Ascot and Bunbury on Cup Day. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – ADMIRE THE GIRL WIN RACE 3 UNIVERSAL HOTNESS looks to have found a suitable assignment here. The entire preparation has been sound: fourth behind Desert Whisper and Charino (Max Simmonds Stakes winner), fourth to Bohemian Diamond (C1 winner), second to Lil Capri, second to Olympic Park (60+ Graduation winner and Fairetha Stakes/WA Guineas bound), second to Boussac. Deserves one. MA MA BELLE was really well supported in betting on debut at odds and should have gone closer than she did. Got held up repeatedly at crucial stages. LATTE WITH PRO and IDEALLY both come through trials where they’ve shown ability. Numbers: 1 – 13 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – UNIVERSAL HOTNESS WIN RACE 4 FAMOUS DREAM went around in a 3 year old 0MWLY on debut when finishing 3.5L off Catch Carter (5th in the Placid Ark Prelude) and Magnique (likely favourite in a 3 year old 0MWLY 1000 at Ascot on Tuesday). Drops 3kg into an all age maiden, draws well and gets an extra 200m to find her feet. Like this race for her. EXTRA ZERO ran well as a 2 year old and has trialled nicely for his return. SUPER SNIPPY went back to 1000m last start and that probably didn’t suit. LADY TREMAINE can be forgiven for one below par performance last start. Numbers: 12 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – FAMOUS DREAM WIN RACE 5 HOIST THE COLOURS is no star but he’s as honest as they come. He usually takes five or six runs to reach peak fitness and thinking that his last start effort was good enough to be more than competitive in this 54+ open handicap. Like the map, like the claim. SANTA BRAE comes through the same 66+ behind Simply and should be improving with each start in the campaign. FAMOUS DAIN is double accepted for Ascot and Bunbury and both are nice races for him. Big watch on which way the Pearce Brothers go. RED DWARF was a strong winner this track/distance/grade two back for local trainer Dom Celisano. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – HOIST THE COLOURS EACHWAY RACE 6 HESKET has been to Bunbury three times for a win and two minors and all of those have been over the 1400m. First-up he went around in a 66+ when beaten 2.8L by an in form Watch Me Rock and if Kyra Yuill can get him a half decent run from a tricky barrier then this looks a good race for him. MANHATTAN STRIP another who is double accepted for Ascot and Bunbury and worth watching which way they go. OCEANZARA is through the same race as Hesket and was solid fresh as well. ADVANCED has his first start for Kayla Farrell and is well proven at this level. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – HESKET WIN RACE 7 CRUISE TO RIO ran home very well first-up behind Storyville and Hez Got The Safe on a day where it was hard to make ground. Scratched last Wednesday from Belmont Park (always a concern) but with 2kg less in weight if she can reproduce her turn of foot then she’s capable of making a big run at them late. SIX SHOOTER is a nice 3 year old who carries the same weight in this C3 as he did last start when winning a 3 year old 0MWLY. Great placement. DREAMTIME JEAN had excuses at Kalgoorlie after running well fresh behind Prospector’s Pick. ON THE FULL is going well for Team Pateman. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – CRUISE TO RIO WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,11,12 1,2,3,4,5,6 1,3,5,7 9,11 Market Market
