Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets

MANDURAH

Race 2 No. 1 Starlight Ariel

Looks an EW bird off a super map here. Simply has to repeat her last effort here and she won’t be missing the frame. Boxed to be in the finish and can find no excuses in this. Place heavy at the very least.

Race 4 No. 1 Pudding Monelli and No. 8 West On Boonie

The Winter Cup final and almost every dog had a chance here. The 1 goes on top and it’s with some reservation knowing the endless trick bag he possesses. However he has his box, this track sees him bring his best and he gets the right run here in transit. If he leads he wins, if he’s close, he will decide what mood he’s in. EW go at least. As is the 8 who will get through the gears before he hits that top gear around the last section. All depends on how close he is which will determine if he descends on these or not. Nothing will smash the line harder.

Race 5 No. 5 My Anarchy Boy and No. 2 Molfetta Cruise

Looks a match race between these two. Whoever secures the best run wins. The 5 will most likely step better this week and if he finds himself in front of the 2, he is the one to stop. Conversely so is the other scenario where the 2 lands closer. The 5 is more tractable so gets the nod here.

Race 6 No. 4 Penny Magic

Superb run last week closing off strongly in a similar field. Moves in a few more boxes and could land the arm this time. Good luck mowing her down if she does land it solo. They won’t get her as she just keeps finding in front. Can still hit top two if she doesn’t lead. Great EW bet.

Race 7 No. 1 Sunset Commanche

Very short for a dog who could have two different scenarios here. First go over the staying trip and he will either get it well and decimate these, or he will walk home late. Gives the indication he wants it but unless he hits black odds it’s a watch only at the stage.

Race 8 No. 4 Slingshot Cooper and No. 6 Notorious Harada

The 4 is racing well without winning and could rectify that here. Musters up well and could land close to finish this off strongly enough to score. The 6 is stepping her best again and she just needs to hold the arm before the first turn. Is hard to run down then but must lead to win.

Race 9 No. 6 Vaucluse Bale

Best roughie of the night. Yet to show his good Victorian form but gets his chance here and if he can step better and get up there early, we will see some of his better work that will go well in this. Spec him EW.
