Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on May 10, 2024May 10, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Potentially a handy two year old to kick off. SOCIABLE hit the line strongly on debut behind an impressive winner and looks suited by the extra 100m. TROPICUS has jumped out nicely alongside Sociable and more recently beating the impressive the debutant winner Changing Colours. BRIDAL WALTZ responded well when asked for an effort to win her latest jumpout. STANLEY EXPRESS won the Showdown in eye-catching style on debut but does come back 100m. Selections: 5,6,8,1 Suggested Bet: Sociable each way Race 2 HE’S BESET has jumped out in good style to resume with blinkers on. He showed promise in his two Australian runs and although Jimmysstar hasn’t lived up to the hype, that form should hold up here. PAPERBOY chased well behind a subsequent stakes winner last time and can settle closer from the inside draw. CRACERJACK PRINCE is effective first up and has jumped out well. GEORGIE GET MAD will give a sight. Selections: 6,5,1,3 Suggested Bet: He’s Beset to win Race 3 OUR RED MORNING worked through the line strongly over 1200m first up, she’ll appreciate the extra trip and getting her toe in the ground. BRAZEN LADY looked unlucky over this course and distance last start and draws for a good run. ARQANA has plenty of upside, she rises in grade but gets right down in the weights and had no luck at all last start. JENNY JEROME and GIRL are among the other chances. Selections: 4,7,12,2 Suggested Bet: Our Red Morning each way Race 4 ELPHINSTONE ticked the 1600m box here last start and doesn’t looks badly treated after the claim. SURE impressed winning his maiden impressively on debut, he rises significantly in grade but looks progressive. HYDROGEN POWER was luckless first up and will appreciate stepping up in distance. KNUCKLEBONES is building a handy record and is another that seems well placed with the claim. FISTOFFURY drops in grade and may also appreciate dropping back in trip. Selections: 2,5,8,3 Suggested Bet: Elphinstone to win Race 5 SING FOR PEACE ran well behind a promising mare first up and appears well placed stepping up to 2400m with an unbeaten second up record. LET’SBEFRANKBABAY should be close to her top and will also benefit from the step up to 2400m. GARACHICO will make his own luck and gets winkers on. TARAMANSOUR ran well in the Wagga Cup and is another that will appreciate the rise in distance. Selections: 7,5,6,2 Suggested Bet: Sing For Peace each way Race 6 Competitive race. MOVEFORLEX won well on the fresh side, he should strip fitter and appears suited stepping up to 2000m. DSCHINGIS PRESTIGE and QUANTUM CAT both made encouraging local debuts at Mornington, with Dshingis having no luck in the home straight when he looked to have plenty to offer. TOMMY has had some excuses at his two starts this prep and maps for a good run. FAGIN may need luck from the draw but has claims, as does last start winner ALBANIAN I AM. Selections: 6,8,4,5 Suggested Bet: Moveforlex each way Race 7 Plenty of different form lines converging. FRAGILE LOVE is shaping as through 1400m will suit and gets down in the weights after the claim. MISS ARIA just missed in stakes grade in Adelaide, her previous form ties in with Fragile Love and she appears well suited after Tatum Bull’s claim. BOSSY NIC is another that may be looking for 1400m now and also gets a valuable claim. UP TO MISCHIEF is racing through the grades well in NSW and makes her own luck. LADY IN PINK covered ground in a stronger race at Bendigo. Selections: 6,2,1,8 Suggested Bet: Fragile Love each way Race 8 Another competitive race. KING MAGNUS will strip fitter for an encouraging return. DEVOTED was luckless and Yarra Valley and that form ties a few of these together. BANK MAUR was also luckless at Yarra Valley and returned to form last start. EDISON won a key lead up race by dominating on speed and expect similar tactics here. SAVANNAH CLOUD won the Yarra Valley race and may be looking for 1400m now. Selections: 2,8,5,6 Suggested Bet: King Magnus each way Race 9 FRIGID is racing in great form and looks the one to beat, particularly after the claim. TROSETTEE has jumped out well to resume and the stable has been producing a few first up winners lately. His stablemate, VALLEY KING, has looked good building a picket fence in NZ and has jumped out ok for his first Australian start. PAPILLON CLUB should be at her top now and gets blinkers first time. Selections: 6,8,11,13 Suggested Bet: Frigid to win Race 10 PRANCING SPIRIT was luckless last start and should be approaching peak fitness. BELLINGER is most consistent, he’ll strip fitter for his good fresh run and will be strong late. STARLIGHT SCOPE ran well first up in the Hareeba and drops in grade. END ASSEMBLY ‘çhoked down’ when well supported first up for the new stable and gets a tongue tie back on. CARDIGAN QUEEN has claims first up. Selections: 16,15,12,14 Suggested Bet: Prancing Spirit each way Same Race Multi: Prancing Spirit (Top 2) + Bellinger (Top 4) Market Market
