Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on January 20, 2024January 20, 2024 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 3 No. 6 Warm Regards and No. 4 Disco Trixie The 6 is airborne and only has to avoid tired dogs to win. Could even lead as she almost did here last time. Looks her race. The 4 will go well. Can stay and another who need only avoid traffic and land close to figure late. Race 4 No. 1 Columbus Monelli Got his box and ready to strike here. Can step well enough to hold his spot and will start his work up the back to be a top two player on the way home. Race 5 No. 1 Sunset Louie and No. 5 Storm Alert The 1 very hard to beat here. Always finds his best when drawn in and will land closer this time. Very hard to hold out late. The 5 is racing well over this trip and while this is the acid test, he is up to it. Don’t ignore him in this harder company. Race 6 No. 4 Crypto Monelli Pretty much the only dog in this who can run on from anywhere. The rest need to get up there or lead. Slots over to the fence and awaits the inevitable first turn trouble that will come here. Hard to hold out. Race 9 No. 8 Victory Road and No. 7 Fabs Max Potato The 8 perfectly boxed. Will roll down the outside and find plenty on his run last week when he resumed. The 7 is going ok at the moment and he will run into this late. Has been landing closer and getting good runs so another will see a similar result. Small EW for him. Race 10 No. 7 Gimli Just betting on the start for this maiden. If he leads, he wins. He can lead too. A bit of trust needed with him but he’s ready and will be hard to catch if he gets the arm. Race 12 No. 5 Spider Venom Needs to drop straight to the fence then go through the gears. Nothing will charge home harder here and if they give him a look, he will pounce on them late. Can go well despite the shorter trip. THE MEADOWS Race 2 No. 4 Bomb Murt Went super again for us last week. Continues to run his good middle and last sections and good in a field. Watch for him to strike up the back again at odds with any luck. Race 5 No. 4 Smooth Plane and No. 5 Whodat Shanlyn Great race this. The 4 ripped the clock apart last week with a booming win. Stepping well and handles every box. Hard to stop again. The 5 runs ridiculous sections when she balances up. This her acid test but she will weave her way through and be closing strongly late again. Race 6 No. 1 Xile Bale and No. 6 Warringah Bale The 1 having a crack at this middle trip. He could step and show up early here and gives every indication he will get it. The 6 will be a smoky but he can figure. Boxes don’t worry him and he just keeps trying and can hit the frame with clear running. Don’t ignore him. Race 11 No. 4 Scott Me Runs his regular honest race around here where he saves his best for. Will get over to the fence early and start his work quickly. Will close off well like he usually does and that makes him a good EW prospect. WENTWORTH PARK Race 2 No. 2 Bailey Bear Sparingly raced but well boxed here and gets a great map behind the red. Fast dog who can reel off good time when he lands close and has a good record here. If he’s ready he’s hard to beat. Race 3 No. 2 Zipping Remus No luck behind Idolize in a Paws heat last week. Got going late but was too wide and back to make an impact. Better draw here and has a superb record track and trip. Goes close this week. Race 4 No. 4 Valpolicella Enormous run behind Zoha Bale last week and can turn the tables here. Made up many many lengths after being pushed back and the small field here will assist in her landing closer this week. Very hard to beat if she repeats last weeks run. Race 5 No. 6 Leg Speed and No. 7 Kangaroo Jack The 6 is a monster hope here and they are betting an EW quote. Tremendous run last week and while the draw isn’t great, he can offset this box and put himself into this quickly. Best bet to not miss the frame. The 7 is a good smokies hope with his early dash and he’s getting better each week. Can carve out time on the arm and will take some catching if he gets the arm solo here. The 6 is the best EW bet anywhere tonight however. Race 6 No. 5 Aunt Virginia Super Victorian bitch who was outstanding in her heat. Led all the way and gave nothing else a chance in fast time. She doesn’t need to lead and only has to land handy to be a huge threat in this final. Race 7 No. 2 Bianca’s Boy and No. 5 August Bob Derby final and the 2 looks poised to give a big sight here. Monster win in his heat running fast time and he has an engine this bloke. Can land handy again and hit the frame at least. The 5 was out of his skin in the heat and if he steps off this box he will give another cheeky showing. Small EW spec on him. Race 8 No. 1 Dutch Riot and No. 6 Go Bears The Paws final and this boom sprinter in box 1 has this race at his mercy. Showed dazzling acceleration off a slow start last week to give them a drubbing and now gets the golden draw. Can and should lead throughout here if he holds up early this time. The 6 is the best roughie in the race. Hes going as well as he ever has and while the box is sticky, he will run into this if he gets a first turn break. Keep him on side. Market Market
