Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 14, 2023November 14, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 GOOD MEASURE has trialled nicely on two occasions leading into his debut. For years Bunbury + Michael Lane + Chris Parnham = $$ and suspect it won’t be long until that trend returns. Looks a capable type in a race full of handy maidens. ROMMELS GODDESS was thrown in the deep end on debut behind the likes of Eliteone, Sass Machine and Ayumi. Her recent trial was sharp and she should hold a prominent position throughout. SANDFIRE ROSE was getting to the line well at trials and is drawn to get a gun run on debut. PREMIUM GIRL showed a glimpse on debut and at the trials. Nice form race this. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – GOOD MEASURE WIN RACE 2 KIA ORA TATOU is from a notable staying family and looks like he’ll only get better and better over further. Worked to the line well second-up at a mile behind Mirrorschino. Maybe a slight query on the form with Lien Hyphen beaten fair and square in a York maiden handicap but Kia Ora Tatou looks an encouraging stayer. PLAY WITH DESIRE comes through that same race and was scratched from York to save for this in preference. Pike sticks and blinkers go on. SOUND THE CHARGE was a great run first-up and should get a soft run. DENTED ROMANCE next best. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – KIA ORA TATOU WIN RACE 3 BONNY ROCK was drawn awkwardly first-up and was forced to go back in a race where they absolutely walked – overall race time 6L slower than average. Never a hope from back there. Better drawn here and if scratching from Wednesday would take beating here. Some of her 2 year old form is excellent for an all age maiden. ROYAL ACCOLADE travelled into the race boldly first-up when finishing third behind Seeyouatthesession and Magic Belle. Nothing wrong with that form. LOST CITY can hold a spot and run a race on debut. LOST GRAVITY can come out running to offset the wide draw. Numbers: 11 – 3 – 13 – 2 Suggested Bet – BONNY ROCK WIN RACE 4 NEW MUSIC gets the services of William Pike for the first time and is drawn to get every favour. She has been impressive at each of her two runs to date and Ike Racing is going at 20% which is phenomenal for a relatively small numbers yard. DARK MISSILE comes through the high rating Our Nemesis maiden. So far we’ve only seen one winner – Heartford House, but he was $11 into $5.50 and we’ve seen Rocket Storm, Gondrinkin, Tapping Heels and Crombie all run places in the 18 days since. CEILI really caught the eye at her return to racing 29 days ago. Keep very safe. IDENTIFIER has had some real bad luck stories over the last few months. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – NEW MUSIC WIN RACE 5 ROCKING THE CASBAH hasn’t been seen at the races for 39 days but on debut he split Storm Leader and Be Awesome and then at his second outing he finished second to Malkar Pindari. Can roll forward from his wide gate with Salary Man and work his way into a prominent position. Day spacing is an unknown but Summer Dickson is flying. SOLDIERS CAMP is drawn to get every favour sneaking up along the fence behind the speed. He’s ready for a 1400 now. ROCKIN THE SILKS has promised to win a race for months now. SALARY MAN is yet to peak for his new stable. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ROCKING THE CASBAH WIN RACE 6 LORD GANNICUS was a brilliant run first-up for all the wrong reasons. He stood flat footed as the start was effected and missed the kick by a good 5 – 6L before settling at the back of the field and running home (somehow) into third placing. If he can do things better out of the gates then he has to be a massive chance. Risk vs Reward type animal though. GAGE ROADS is no world beater but he’s consistently around the place. He’ll get every hope from the perfect barrier. HESKET comes through a fast run race and can poke through into a great spot in running. VALSASSINA should be just about ready. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – LORD GANNICUS WIN RACE 7 GOD’S GARDEN was beaten 1.3L in a 66+ at Ascot only two starts ago when racing outside the handicap and racing without any luck at all. Should have finished right alongside Bad Wolf/Miss Intention/Bandalera Miss/Strike Now. Back into a C1 after getting held up at a key stage on Melbourne Cup Day. Really like this race for her. THE ROAN RANGER is the kind of animal who will send you broke if you follow him but it’s hard to ignore his fresh run from a minor money/exotics perspective. LOVA SESSION knows how to run a minor placing but she’s a little trier. COVENTRY REEF races like he’ll stay all day. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – GOD’S GARDEN WIN RACE 8 GREAT DEMON probably wasn’t that well suited to the way the race was run last start. From that event we’ve seen Special Sort back up off 3 days and get the job done again in a Westspeed Platinum and now Great Demon draws wide which is probably where they’d ideally like him as a big striding type who needs momentum behind him. Has upside. BELLE JOURNEE was able to run down Barney’s World fresh and Chris Stelmach has had another winner since. Great sign when small yards have multiple winners in a small timeframe. INTERVENTION was the beneficiary of a great tactical ride by Peter Knuckey last start. VALLEY OF QUEENS has run three solid races for Michael Lane. Ready now. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet – GREAT DEMON WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,4 1,2,5,6,7,8 6 2,3,4,5,7,9,11 Market Market
