He won a very similar race two starts back with 60kg and just as importantly that was over 1400m. He’ll concede them weight and a head start but he’s classy. POMPEY is an honest conveyance. He’s no world beater and doesn’t have anywhere near the excitement factor of an Aztec Ruler but he continues to get the job done. NOWHITEFLAG will go round the roughie of the field but he was still there with 200m to go last start at a mile. KNOT SECRET returned to racing well. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – AZTEC RULER WIN RACE 2 RULER ROCKET has been costly first-up and second-up but he’s found another ideal assignment to return to the winners circle and remind us of his ability. When drawn inside barriers there’s been a clear intention to sit him if possible and with Ain’t No Other Man/On The Full/City Angel/Work Home Front all capable of going quick they’ll get that option if it’s how they want to ride him. Testing the patience. AIN’T NO OTHER MAN hasn’t won a race for a long while but his trial was electric and he ran into some really good horses when last in work. CITY ANGEL is racing consistently. STEVIE’S MAY was a fresh winner last campaign. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – RULER ROCKET WIN RACE 3 ALL PLAY was the one horses that every punter wanted to tip on debut off a hot trial behind Masamune and Insyde Success. He was $8.50 into $2.90 throughout betting and won with a level of arrogance and authority. Shaun O’Donnell never pulled the whip because he wanted to duck inwards in the home straight but he looked like he had plenty in the tank. This is a big step up but he’s progressive. RIPCORD is likely to go round a deserving favourite. Not many horses can win a Perth Stakes off a 400m jump out and then hold their own behind two top notch fillies in a Karrakatta Plate. Logical danger. GENEROSITY hasn’t had much go right in her two run career. She’s good. RED SQUARE is a readymade race horse. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – ALL PLAY WIN RACE 4 INSYDE SUCCESS is 1000m to 1400m in one step which is a natural query but it was hard to ignore his debut win in a fast run maiden at Northam. The breakaway leader Tycoon Harry never came up for air and had them chasing from the 600. Thought it was the win of a tough horse who will get out over further. Looks a great chance for him to follow Happy As Larry across and park on speed. PLEASURE CRUISE gave the impression that with racing and experience he’ll make a nice animal. Love the way he travelled up to them and let rip on debut. BE AWESOME toyed with battlers at Northam. WHY ME was a much improved run last start. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – INSYDE SUCCESS WIN RACE 5 GO FORWARD was seriously hot trial. He’s an out and out 1000m horse and does his best when he’s in a high speed, high pressure races which looks to be the case here with Sockoff, Crypto Queen, Little Silver and Cut The Talk all likely to burn along in the early and middle stages. With even luck and a split in the home straight Go Forward looks hard to hold out. SOFIA’S SYMPHONY drops down to 54.5kg and has come back in wonderful form. This is tougher but she’s recording blistering L600s. RUMOUR SAYS was an alarming late drifter last start and ran accordingly. LITTLE SILVER can enjoy a gun run behind the speed. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – GO FORWARD WIN RACE 6 SOLDANELLE carries 1kg less in a 66+ than she did last start in a re-handicapped 70+ when racing well outside her grade. She breezed outside of Our Norman and went straight past him on straightening before being gunned down by in form mare Candlelight Supper and subsequent Boulder Cup winner Villeins. Drawn 12 of 12 but has shown versatility since arriving in WA. ROMANCING THE ROCK gets really keen in his races. There’s no speed in this 2000m race so he might be able to simply roll to the top and dictate terms to them. ZAZA ROCK faces her acid test but she’s drawn to get every favour with no weight on her back. MAGIC WHISTLE has staying ability. Numbers: 12 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – SOLDANELLE EACHWAY RACE 7 ALLEZ ALLEZ is as honest as they come. Last start he was attacked from the 1000 and fought on bravely into third after being left a sitting duck on straightening. Has had a few weeks to get over that taxing run and from the draw can take a sit on the likes of Mountain Ash/Success Play and lob one out one back in running. Rarely out of the money. CASH AWAY has proven himself at a mile and chased hard behind Pompey last start. Hard to fault his last 3 months. FINE TOUCH destroyed moderate opposition last start and is drawn a lemon. CATCH THESE HANDS raced first-up like he needs ground. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – ALLEZ ALLEZ EACHWAY RACE 8 PHANTA looks well suited in a SWP 1200. He can bounce out, take up the running and then kick hard into the corner. Best kept fresh and best allowed to use his number one weapon which is his high cruising speed. RIVER RUBICON went to another level last start when the weight came off his back. He dropped from a series of 60kg weight carrying efforts down to the minimum and let loose with a huge turn of acceleration to record a highly impressive victory. This is another step up for him at SWP but he’s a winner. BABY PARIS can roll forward to sit outside Phanta if she jumps and from there is a definite winning chance. ROKANORI has been hit and miss throughout his career. Time for shades. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – PHANTA WIN RACE 9 TRIPLE JAY just looks like he’s going to enjoy the world perfect run at his return to racing. Hard to miss his effortless 950m Lark Hill trial win when going round in second gear and from the ideal barrier he can bounce out and put himself into a position and may even roll straight to the top. Always looked the kind of animal who would come back bigger and better each campaign. BECALOTTI is a really good mare but she’s going to again have to burn the candle at both ends from a tricky alley. VALSASSINA has a real X-Factor about her when she’s on song. CELEBRITY PRINCE will need to find the right back to follow. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – TRIPLE JAY WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,6,12 1,2,3,7,11 3,6,7,8 4,5,6,7 Market Market
