Chris Nelson’s Saturday Rosehill Preview Posted on July 21, 2023July 21, 2023 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 Going with the very unlucky ELETTRICA in this opening race who arguably should have won here 3 weeks back. Unfortunately she was held up for a run until halfway down the straight before finishing off well winding up less than a length from the winner. She meets that winner SOAMI again here plus others she has been competitive with in recent times all well off at the weights. DIAMOND DIESEL is super consistent & deserved his win last start, rises 3.5kg in weight however drawn well & should again figure in the finish. SMART LITTLE MISS in with a show. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet: ELETTRICA EACH-WAY RACE 2 Difficult looking race. I’ll lean to EXTREME SPIRIT who will take good fitness benefit off the first up run down the Flemington straight. In a race not really run to suit he loomed strongly before peaking late to be beaten just under a length, importantly stays at the same trip. INHIBITIONS failed on heavy ground last run at her initial prep, other efforts were all good & she’s had a couple of lead-up trials. Must include TAORMINA who fought hard to score on debut, can only take good benefit from that outing. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet: EXTREME SPIRIT EACH-WAY (small bet) RACE 3 Looks the right race for BURRANDANA to break through third run back from a break. He hit the line well fresh before held up & running home late once again to just miss the winner CHASE MY CROWN (also engaged here) last time out. There’s a 2.5kg weight swing in BURRANDANA’s favour on this occasion & the additional 100m looks very suitable. BARRADAS right in the mix as well, similar form lines & draws ok. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet: BURRANDANA TO WIN (small bet) Race 4 SO UNITED & WAHINE TOA the two for me here & I find them hard to split. With the 3kg claim I’ll lean to the former who has form around the flying Fawkner Park & will be benefitted by the run at this trip last start. WAHINE TOA is a dead set stayer, two placings this time in 2000 & 2600m if there are chinks in the SO UNITED armour, she’ll be the one finding them late. Favourite MANBEHINDTHEMONEY is too short for mine, not convinced he’ll see the 2400m out strongly enough. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet: SO UNITED & WAHINE TOA TO WIN RACE 5 Wyong trained galloper SO GOOD SO COOL is worth a throw at the stumps here. Won consecutive races Canterbury & Randwick before back in trip the latest running home well in a race which wasn’t run to suit tempo wise. Gate one perhaps not ideal however Dylan Gibbons continues to ride so well he can hopefully find some gaps at the business end. The consistent BRUDENELL did have his chance last start, maybe better placed stepping up in distance? Toughest test for GIVARA who can only win & he’s been doing just that. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet: SO GOOD SO COOL EACH-WAY RACE 6 ACAPPELLA SUN zoomed home at Randwick last start after a Highway win the run prior. She’s a model of consistency & gets in nice & light again here after the claim for Amy McLucas, the step back up to 1200m is a positive as well. WAVERIDER BUOY broke through for only win number two last start however is very consistent, is now looking for the increase in distance & gets it here. LADY BROOK travelled via the carpark last start, can improve with a better trip today. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet: ACAPPELLA SUN EACH-WAY RACE 7 Happy to stick with ex UK & first up winner CHORLTON LANE who will take good improvement off the win here 3 weeks back. Ridden back near the tail he soon picked up in the straight & went home far too well for his rivals, based on that the additional trip is very suitable. Although drawn out & having to carry the big weight TOEKN CAPITALIST is right in this as much of the other form is provincial, his isn’t. Watch on HOWGOODAREYOU who won easily at Hawkesbury on debut, ran an unbelievably low sectional in front, basically walked. Can’t back on that, have to see her again. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet: CHORLTON LANE TO WIN RACE 8 BARBIE’S FOX put in a cracking run at Randwick last start when held up badly for a run in the straight, with daylight she may well have won the race & with an additional 100m in her favour here I’m in her corner. SIBAAQ has trialled well & holds a good fresh record, follow any positive betting leads. ACQUITTED comes out of the same race as BARBIE’S FOX & was another who had little luck. Chances don’t end there, there’s plenty of them! Numbers: 12 – 2 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet: BARBIE’S FOX EACH-WAY RACE 9 Difficult race. Should there be any market support around for THE BOPPER I’ll have something on him. He raced very well last prep, has a solid enough first up record & has had the benefit of two recent trials. OMNI MAN is absolutely flying, he’s on the 7 day back up here rising 100m off a wide gate, will that stop him? SWEET RIDE & DRAGONSTONE both in the mix, the latter just gave away too much start at Doomben & the former strips fitter. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 in exotics RACE 10 KALINO has a good fresh record & has been fitted up for his return with a couple of close-up trial efforts. He began his most recent prep with consecutive wins & wound it up beaten less than 2 lengths in Group 3 company his last two runs before heading for a break. ASTERO draws poorly however continues to race well, the most recent was luckless, include. Similar gate for CHASSIS who has been racing in fine style further north. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet: KALINO EACH-WAY Market Market
