Finished off well into second behind impressive first-up winner Stevie’s May and then was able to get over them in the trial at Belmont a fortnight ago. Shades on for his debut, drawn to get a nice run and doesn’t look to be any stars in this race. Going to trust the eye and follow him from trials into his debut. SAINT EADIE finished second to stablemate Forever Classic who won well at Belmont Wednesday. Drawn awkwardly but has shown glimpses at the traces. LOOPY’S BABY has another tricky draw to contend with, however, she’s race fit and tries hard. BALAYAGE BABE has shades going on. Trialled well on multiple occasions. Blown up on race day. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – ALMAYA WIN RACE 2 THE RUSH continues to go close without winning. Has finished second at her last three outings and there’s been absolutely nothing wrong with her runs. She’s bursting to win one and gets another wonderful chance. OUR NEMSIS was 100-1 last start but loomed up late behind Who Be Whatee. If he can reproduce that effort he’ll be in the mix. COVENTRY REEF will likely get back from a wide gate but did produce a nice trial and an encouraging return to racing when only 1L off Our Nemesis in the same event. ECSTASY OF GOLD showed the difference between 2 year old company and all age maiden company two starts ago when third behind First Encounter and Santa Brae. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 5 – 12 Suggested Bet – THE RUSH WIN RACE 3 SUPER ROMANI has finished second at his last three outings (just like The Rush in Race 2) and is clearly knocking on the door. He had his first attempt at a staying trip last start and kept coming to the line under pressure when beaten a half head. Meets a similar line-up here and should only be improved for the experience. AFFLUENTIAL lead them up two starts ago and went very close. Considering he doesn’t have any change up speed maybe that’s the way to ride him? SIROTA drops back into a maiden from a 3 year old 0MWLY. Looks like he’ll stay. SOCIAL IMPACT gave serious cheek last start. Great effort from her. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – SUPER ROMANI WIN RACE 4 SENTIMENTAL BELLE hasn’t exactly been a friend to favourite backers in her career to date but she’s not running bad races in defeat. She finished second on debut to Vampi At Play and then ran into a hot Northam line-up fresh last campaign (Upper Limits, Ex Sport Girl, Admiration Express) before going shin sore second-up. Drew poorly, got back and went inside to the worst part of the track on her return. She’ll get every chance here. CHERRY’s A STAR had three runs in her initial preparation as a 2 and early season 3 year old. They were all in far better quality races than what she meets here. BLAZEN STAR trialled up nicely for his debut. ONE SMART NUT next best. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL BELLE WIN RACE 5 RED REBEL and RYEWOOD were both impressive last start maiden winners who both rise 2.5kg in weight going from their maiden wins into a C1 and are drawn to get similar runs to what they enjoyed last start. Always thought there was a motor under the hood of RYEWOOD and will follow up with her. She’s got a turn of foot that can get her out of trouble (as shown last start). Don’t think she beat much (at all) but she’s improving with racing. RED REBEL ran into Duchess Of Gossip before getting away from them late to win his maiden. Looks like he’ll get even further than a mile. COVERT ROSE comes through a handy C1 behind Exceltrain, Federation Rocks and Mojo’s Luck. JOLLY ODD stuck on well last start. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – RYEWOOD WIN RACE 6 IMPERIALIZE and KELVINATOR are the two big winners from this race being transferred from a 1200 at Belmont to an 1100 at Northam. The two market elects (Madame Magic and Sizzle Me Patrick) are both looking for further and so with the distance change going to swap them up and put IMPERIALIZE on top. Great effort to stick on behind sharp filly Bonjoy in a race run almost 4L faster than C3 average last start. KELVINATOR will come out running and either cross or breeze. He’s better suited in this than his recent 3 year old Saturday races. MADAME MAGIC trialled super and is a filly worth following. SIZZLE ME PATRICK will need the entire length of the straight to wind-up. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – IMPERIALIZE WIN RACE 7 LADY DUCKWORTH was first-up at 2000m when third behind Secret Pearl and then was only a head off Fat Roy Slim last start. Meets him half a kilo better and if she can find a back to follow in the run then should be ready to peak third-up. FAT ROY SLIM was eye catching at York with 61kg two starts and showed it was no fluke when winning well last start in a 54+. He’s got barrier 1 and has seemingly improved a length or two since being ridden with cover. Will need luck at some stage but he’s in great form. DEVONIA is a big class dropper and can roll across to lead or breeze. THE ROAN RANGER is hard to catch (near impossible) but going well. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – LADY DUCKWORTH WIN RACE 8 HILTON was a tough watch at Kalgoorlie. He was backed from $4.60 into $2.30 in a relentless betting move and then never got out from leader’s back at any stage. CJP rode him last preparation when he won the Coolgardie Sprint by over a length and while a lot of his form is on the Goldfields he’s the winner of 5 from 12 and arguably should have been 6 from 12. Worth following up on. OLY’S CHOICE was lengths below his best at his return. Can’t forget his run in the Fitzpatrick Plate. He can come on quickly. ALLEZ ALLEZ has trialled very quietly for the new yard. BIRD’S THE WORD is as honest as they come. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – HILTON WIN RACE 9 QUEEN ALINA was enormous at her return to racing. It was a day at Belmont Park where it was extremely hard to make any ground and she got a long way back first-up over 1400m. To get home into third behind Catalpa from where she was in running shows that she’s going to make her way right through the grades. Only query is whether it takes the sprint out of her legs 9 days later. ABLOH was brilliant when winning the Sky Racing Provincial Series Final. He’s looking for 1600m and his turn of foot is highly impressive. MAHALEO has shades on, back in grade, drawn to get a gun run and likely goes round eachway. MOJO RHYTHM isn’t letting rip like he did first-up or second-up. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – QUEEN ALINA WIN RACE 10 TIFF’S LAD was huge in the Sky Racing Provincial Series Final. If Abloh runs well in the WA Day Cup (Race 9) then it will make the form look even better. We’ve already seen Civvy Street victorious from that race and the way Tiff’s Lad charged to and through the line gives every indication he’s looking for a mile. Goes around eachway and is ready to win again. BANDALERA BEAU is a month between runs but did win a rain affected 1800 in a higher grade only two starts ago and now gets W.Pike. CLIMB ON TOP has to step from 1200m to 1600m in one go. If he handles the rise in trip he’s hard to beat. MANHATTAN STRIP has come back really well. Hard to knock. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – TIFF’S LAD EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 1,2,3,5,6,8,9,10 1,2,4,6 1,3,7 2,3,4,7 Market Market
