Back around a bend and capable of kicking through to nearly lead in this line up. Good race for him. CELEBRITY PRINCE joins the Adam Durrant operation and has blinkers taken off. His recent trial behind Schino Girl was good enough and with William Pike riding at the meeting he’ll have a loyal following. RAGING BEAUTY has put together two impressive runs in Geraldton. She is an 18 start maiden though. KINKY BOOTS has run well in all three starts. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – BUSTERS FREE WIN RACE 2 REYWOOD ran third behind Pollash and subsequent maiden winner Chinobrown on debut. Now goes from a provincial maiden to a country maiden and a claiming apprentice to William Pike. From the inside raw she can keep the leaders within her sights and provided she doesn’t find any traffic jams she should come out victorious. You would envisage she’s clearly the shortest priced favourite of the meeting. Think she’s got some upside. DESTRUCTOR can give cheek if finding the top. CALICO KID finds a new home. Ran a cheeky second behind Birkett Boy at Northam last preparation. JURUENA GOLD has run out of chances and is racing like he’ll need 2000. Numbers: 13 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – REYWOOD WIN RACE 3 GEROGE GENTLY heads to Geraldton and joins the stable of Graeme Hammarquist. He won a C3 1200 at Ascot only three starts ago and now finds himself back in that grade. Admittedly his last two efforts in 60+ Graduation company have been somewhat disappointing finishing last on both occasions but he’s much better than that and he’ll have no trouble carrying the weight. Nice horse for the region. BAKE SOME MAYBES hasn’t been able to break through and win one this preparation but all of his runs have had merit. Gets every chance to see out 1400 from the draw. CLASSIC ENCOUNTER won a 1400m Geraldton maiden and then finished only 3L off a flying Vitalize in a C1 at Ascot. Recent trials have been good. RED CADILLAC overcame big traffic at Narrogin to score fresh. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 11 – 9 Suggested Bet – GEORGE GENTLY WIN RACE 4 SANABEAU was huge on debut at cricket score odds and then defied an alarming drift to get over them in a maiden. Ron Cowl Jnr calls on the services of William Pike and that gives his mare a great sighter at going back to back and making it two wins from three starts. Hard to hold out. GLACIER MISS was below her best last preparation. Recent trial behind Harmika was encouraging. HELL RAIDER has been there abouts all campaign. BOLD PROPHET finally broke through last week at Dongara after a string of narrow defeats. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – SANABEAU WIN RACE 5 ISOLA BAY finished 3L off Sneaky Fox at his return at Albany. Thinking from the far better draw they can kick through and hold the back of flying machine Admiral Husson. From there in a strung out 1200m he can get off the leader’s back at the top of the straight and looks a big improver on paper. THREE SESSIONS is a winner. He’s only had 16 starts and boasts a 50% winning strike rate. Toyed with them last week at Dongara with 62kg. Could have won by a lot further. Not sure where he gets which is the concern. ARABIAN RICHES broke a long, long run of outs last start. Amazing how many of those types win back to back. ASK AN ANGEL is better than what she produced fresh. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – ISOLA BAY WIN RACE 6 SHAKA ZULU was emphatic on debut down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra and then went straight to 1400m in a C1 when pressured through the middle stages before kicking clear late. Think he’s well above average and this is excellent placement by Rob Gulberti. He’s clearly versatile and doesn’t have to lead to win. Think he remains undefeated. ELIMINATE has 61.5kg to contend with and that’s no doubt a decent leveller but she’s better than most of these on class alone. Will need a soft run and if she gets late splits she’s dangerous. MOCHA DREAM gets some weight relief coming up in grade. Racing like 1400m will suit. WESTOZI comes right back in trip after electing to bypass the Cup. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – SHAKA ZULU WIN RACE 7 SLUICE BOX was thrown in the deep end last start into the Pinjarra Cup and did a massive job to finish third behind Casino Seventeen and No Apology. In that race he beat Utgard Loki by 6L and Come Right Back by just over 1L. From the draw he can enjoy a soft run midfield with cover and no doubt Troy Turner would have had plenty of options when it came to rider bookings. Looks a competitive Cup and he looks nearly back to his best. COME RIGHT BACK has a gear change and Pike going on. He has flashed glimpses of his best this campaign. Should be peaking now. No excuses. FRIAR AWAY drops back down to 55.5kg. Big effort last start under 60 when hitting the front on straightening. GOLD FRIARS has burst onto the staying scene in recent weeks. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 13 Suggested Bet – SLUICE BOX EACHWAY RACE 8 IHTS CLOSING INN looks your ideal Pike in the last proposition. She’s a sit and sprint filly with a sharp point to point turn of foot. Gets in perfectly on the 54kg minimum, is drawn to sit off the speed and rattle home late. Comes up in grade but doesn’t look to be a deep line-up. With even luck she flashes at them late. UNI QUEEN wasn’t to bad in the Dongara Cup and now comes back to a mile. Not convinced she really stays so it’s a positive in my books. STELLA FAIR is racing a length or two below her best but always rates well in this grade after the ZJP claim. VANMAN just can’t quite pinch one. Consistent but not winning races. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – IHTS CLOSING INN WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,4,7,9,13 1,8 2,3,4,5,13 2,3,4,10 Market Market
