He finished third in back to back to back maiden handicaps at York and Narrogin (x2). Comes into this fresh, sits up over the top of the speed and has a set of winkers added to his race gear. This I a very weak maiden and his form stands out clearly. Very hard to beat. RED KATYUSHA has no convictions. On debut for the powerful Barry Newnham stable. ROMMEL’S RETURN needs further but gets the services of Tash Faithfull. TOWNERS FLYER has been a long time maiden and comes right back to 1200m. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – JAG SUPERTROOPER WIN RACE 2 SAMSURIAN joins the yard of Barry Newnham and resumes over 1100m. Fresh last preparation in a C5 at Northam he finished only 1L off Queenship and Forest War. It’s good enough form to be winning this. WARPIPES was rewarded at Mingnew after consistent efforts at Geraldton. DEMERITISE lacks a killer blow but is ultra consistent. GLOBAL CONFLICT a blow out hope. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – Samsurian Win RACE 3 HELL RAIDER has been knocking on the door at Geraldton. Finished second four starts ago to Traded Crown after a luckless effort behind Yes Miss Jane. Two starts later finished third (albeit 7L) off Speed Bubble. Think 1100m is more his go than 1600m and with the shades going back on he gets his chance in a winnable race at Dongara. BOLD PROPHET has promised to win a race all season. Julia Martin has taken him to Mingenew and back yet he still can’t quite pinch one. ELITE TIME gets back and runs on in her races. First start for Malcolm Mackenzie and Tash Faithful riding is a bonus. CONTESSA DEMICI can always pull out a run here and there. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – HELL RAIDER WIN RACE 4 THREE SESSIONS and YANGTZE RAPIDS do battle again after meeting two starts ago in the Mingenew Sprint. There was a three quarter length margin to Three Sessions and there’s even a weight swing in his favour with the senior rider going on Yangtze Rapids. 1200 back to 1100 should be more suitable for Three Sessions as well. So even with 62kg we’ll go his way as he attempts to make it 8 from 16. YANGTZE RAPIDS does get the services of Tash Faithfull in his favour. HERITAGE SASH is always a chance in these picnic sprints. PURE DYNAMITE again has no weight on his back. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – THREE SESSIONS WIN RACE 5 UNI QUEEN has likely been targeted at this race by Graeme Hammarquist. She attacks the 2023 Dongara Cup third-up from a freshen and gets out to 1850m. She ran second in a 64+ 1900 at Geraldton back in December to hardened stayer Honorfic. Only 53kg after the ZJP claim and gives the young apprentice a genuine look at his first Cup. GALIBA has been a great little money spinner for connections over the last few seasons. Won well at Mingenew two back. BILLY JACK is classy and he can even kick through to lead from the inside gate. SHABALALA was popular in betting coming out of the Mingenew Cup last start at Belmont. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – UNI QUEEN WIN Race 6 FOXHOOD has been trialling the house down. He won a Geraldton 1100m trial by over 7.5L in sharp time and then went another ~6L quicker in his next trial when romping in again by over 3L. Clearly going well and this is a very winnable race for him first-up. He’ll be the ‘Get Out’ for a lot of Dongara Bound Punters. Wonder how short he will get. MINI COAT ran well last start at 100-1 behind Just A Lil Faith. SHAMARA has blinkers on. Starting to wonder whether she’s only a Carnarvon commodity. I’M A BUSH CHOOK has been back to trials between races. Improver. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – FOXHOOD WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2,4,5,6,7,8 3,4 1,2,4,8 1 Market Market
