Warren Huntly’s Saturday Sandown Preview Posted on December 9, 2022December 9, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty to learn with all on debut. OUROBOROS was asked for a bit of an effort and responded well in a jumpout to shade DOWN LOW, who also looked to go well. CANTOLAGO moved comfortably, then quickened nicely to win a recent jumpout. ENERGIZED held his ground well after travelling wide on the track in his most recent jumpout. All the others have shown something. Selections: 2,3,1,5 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn. Race 2 Speed looks ok through ANIRISHMAN and JAYROD TOO, who both could give a good sight. SOUS LES NUAGES will appreciate a solid tempo and a drop in grade. KAITUKU’S best form is on rain affected ground but he’s fit and racing well. EPSOM DAYS was safely held by Jayrod Too last start but looks suited by the rise in distance and the claim. NEVER AGAIN and MISS FIVE HUNDERD have claims in an even race. Selections: 1,3,10,4 Suggested Bet: Sous Les Nuages each way Race 3 Competitive race with six last start winners merging different form lines. NO DRAMA won well last start and has jumped out nicely since that victory. MIDTWON BOSS has shown versatility in his two wins this preparation and looks suited out to 1400m. CHARMING DI will strip fitter third up and should appreciate 1400m on a spacious track. RUSSIAN RONI looks part of the speed and should give a sight. IN YOUR HANDS won well on debut and is another that should relish 1400m on a spacious track. Selections: 3,2,6,1 Suggested Bet: No Drama each way Race 4 ARKTIKA has been kept fresh since battling on bravely after a tough run in a good race at Flemington. AUSTRATA worked home well first up and looks suited stepping up to 1600m. OCEANA BLUE was well backed to win an easier race last start and will be close to peak fitness. TASMAN PARK has been winning well on rain affected ground and looks progressive. NETANYAHU beat AUSTRATA home last start and has returned in good form. Selections: 10,9,11,8 Suggested Bet: Arktika to win Race 5 DETONATOR JACK and GREEN FLY meet again, with the current score at one all. Green Fly was perfectly ridden to get the better of Detonator Jack last start and think Detonator Jack can turn the tables again. FLASH AAH should be strong late on the fresh side back to 1600m with blinkers back on. POUNDING will appreciate getting back on a firm track and gets right down in the weights. Selections: 6,7,5,9 Suggested Bet: Detonator Jack to win Race 6 LIFE LESSONS has returned in great form, she meets SO YOU SEE on worse weight terms for beating her last start, but still looks hard to beat. So You See will strip fitter for her first up run and looks more suited on the Hillside circuit. BELLE ET RICHE has jumped out well since her encouraging return and should relish 1400m on this track. WROTE TO ARATAKI hit the line strongly first up and is another suited by 1400m on Hillside. SANTERO and CARDIGAN QUEEN have claims. Selections: 9,7,8,10 Suggested Bet: Life Lessons each way Race 7 THE CUNNING FOX looks well placed stepping up to 1800m third up on a spacious track. RIGHT YOU ARE is likely to be at peak fitness now, he gets blinkers back on, should appreciate firmer ground and goes well here. CHANDON BURJ impressed winning an easier race last start and is building a good record. PRINCESS RHAENYS drops in grade and is capable of improving third up. Selections: 12,5,14,13 Suggested Bet: The Cunning Fox each way Race 8 Deep race. RIOT AND ROSE resumed from a long spell with a good return at Ballarat, we see that form tested with Detonator Jack and Green Fly earlier in the day. SAVANNAH CLOUD got the favours last start, but he’s fit and flying. KETTLE HILL has jumped out well for his Autralian debut. THE GARDEN, HE’S OUR BONNEVAL, DO YA PUNK, TURBEAU and MAC ‘N’ CHEESE are all in the game. Selections: 10,6,13,2 Suggested Bet: Riot and Rose each way Race 9 Another deep race. STAY IN TOUCH is flying at the jumpouts and looks ready to go first up. SIGH looks sharp in a recent jumpout and is unbeaten first up. BIG APPLE is another resuming that has been jumping out well. PROPICE is an intriguing runner returning from Hong Kong. He’s resuming from a lengthy break, but has jumped out well and won on debut down the Flemington straight when he was known as Ilovemyself. RED HOT NICC will strip fitter and appreciate firmer ground. Selections: 5,16,6,13 Suggested Bet: Stay in Touch each way Market Market
