The Scout: World Cup Matchday 10 Preview, 29 Nov Posted on November 29, 2022March 10, 2023 | Posted by The Scout Group A – Ecuador v Senegal Enner Valencia has 3 goals in 2 games so far but came off injured against the Netherlands. He should be available as Ecuador chase at least a point which would see them into the knockout stage. No changes are expected to the line-up. Meanwhile, Senegal appear settled on a team in the absence of talisman Sadio Mane. Boulaye Dia has led the line well, supported by Ismaila Sarr, Krepin Diatta and Famara Diedhiou. A draw could be enough for a top 2 place, but they will play for a win to be safe. DRAW @ $3.10* Group A – Netherlands v Qatar A point guarantees the Netherlands a spot in the last 16, however they will want to go through as group winners. Cody Gakpo has 2 goals to goals to his name and could finally start alongside Memphis Depay, who continues his return from injury. Matthijs de Ligt is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench again. Qatar have already been eliminated but will want to salvage some pride. Another loss would see them become the first ever hosts to fail to pick up any points. Mohammed Muntari scored against Senegal and has a chance to start, along with Abdulaziz Hatem. WIN Netherlands @ $1.21* Group B – Iran v USA A win will put either side through so the stakes don’t get any higher. Iran left it late to beat Wales having made a number of changes to the team that was trounced 6-2 by England. Expect coach Carlos Queiroz to approach this contest in a similar fashion, although Alireza Jahanbakhsh is suspended. Goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand is likely to be available following a head knock. The USA’s striker conundrum continues after Haji Wright was chosen over Josh Sargent for the England game. However, he also drew a blank. Brenden Aaronson has featured off the bench in both games and is the most likely candidate to come into the team if tweaks are made. DRAW @ $3.40* Group B – Wales v England It will take a miracle for Wales to progress, but they simply aren’t good enough to get three points against England. Age has caught up with their key players, and goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is suspended following his red card against Iran. England coach Gareth Southgate has been slated for overlooking Phil Foden when the team was crying out for creativity against the USA. James Maddison has been cleared to return from injury but there are some concerns over captain Harry Kane’s ankle problem. Kyle Walker could see his first action at right back. WIN England @ $1.40* *Odds correct as at 9am, 29th November 2022.
