Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Geelong Preview Posted on October 18, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 OUTBACK JACK should be ready to peak and the form around him is holding up well. JILTED LOVER takes another rise in grade but he looks progressive and has tactical versatility. SOUS LES NUAGES showed good fight to win last start and gets a claim. KAPALUA SUNSET will strip fitter for two back and looks suited by the rise in trip. TOKEN SPIRIT should appreciate firmer ground than last start. CAPTAIN ENVIOUS looks better suited back on a more spacious track. Selections: 9,11,1,12 Suggested Bet: Outback Jack each way Race 2 Jamie Kah got the best out of FRENCH EMPEROR last start and he maps for a good run. TOBAYSURE was no match for French Emperor last start but will strip fitter and there’s a change of head gear. PITCHANUN should get a good run near the speed. BREASLEY will ride the speed and strip fitter third up. NEVER AGAIN showed an indication of a return to form last start. DUNALLEY won an easier race in good style at her most recent run. Selections: 2,5,13,14 Suggested Bet: Frech Emperor each way Race 3 CUBAN STATE has a wide draw to contend with but the speed looks ok and he might be able to slot in. IMA SHELBY should be at his top and will appreciate firmer ground than last time. ASHY BOY did more than enough first up and looks capable of coping with the significant rise in distance. JENKINS made up for an unlucky run with a strong win in easier grade last start. HESITATE and I COULD DO BETTER, who gets blinkers back on, have claims in a deep race. Selections: 4,7,11 Suggested Bet: Cuban State each way Race 4 Another deep race. MARIMENKO endured a tough run first up and maps much better here. HASSELTOFF has been jumping out nicely for the new stable and 1400m looks suitable first up. LAFARGUE might need a touch of luck from the draw but looks suited stepping up in trip. MATRON BULLWINKEL looked good in her first prep and has been jumping out ok to resume. No surprise to see RELIABLE DUDE run well first up. Selections: 8,4,10,12 Suggested Bet: Marimenko each way Race 5 HYPOTHETICAL has jumped out nicely to resume and should be suited by what appears to be a solid tempo. GRINZINGER PRINCE should also appreciate a solid tempo for his first up run. BENEFICIO will be part of the speed but from an inside draw with the claim looks well placed. Craig Williams sticks with CANTINA who may be suited coming back slightly in trip. TWIGGY POP will strip fitter for an encouraging first up run. Selections: 11,8,12,13 Suggested Bet: Hypothetical each way Race 6 MINSK MOMENT ran well after being slowly away last start. With a clean get away from an inside draw he looks hard to beat. FIELD OF ROSES is flying for the new stable and will be strong late coming back to 1200m. CRESTANI won this race last year and did enough first up. LINAS LEGEND has been jumping out nicely to resume as a gelding. MONTATHER has jumped out well between runs with blinkers on. SHARP RESPONSE and SNAPPER are in the mix. Selections: 4,10,5,11 Suggested Bet: Minsk Moment to win Race 7 The Sydney form of IGNACIO adds a different dimension to the race and suspect that form will measure up. GRAND PIERRO chased well behind Mr Maestro last start and that form is strong. LET’SROLLTHEDICE gives every impression he will appreciate this trip as does ABERFELDIE BOY. DREAM HOUR and ROZNAMLA are two more that appear as though they will cope with the step up to this distance. Selections: 7,3,1,12 Suggested Bet: Ignacio each way Race 8 MIDNIGHT BLUE ran well in the Bart Cummings and seems big odds in early markets. INTERPRETATION was well backed in the Bart Cummings and should be fit enough to help make it a solid staying test. RODRIGO DIAZ brings solid international form which has historically been a good guide in this race. MAKRAM and LUNCIES both might need some luck from their draws but a solid tempo could help them slot in. SUREFIRE had excuses last start. Selections: 2,12,6,7 Suggested Bet: Midnight Blue each way Race 9 KATALIN hasn’t had much luck from barrier draws recently and looks to have drawn for a much better run. TURAATH was luckless first up, she will strip fitter and should still be fresh enough for this trip. JUAN DIVA brings some strong interstate form and has trialled well recently. MAC ‘N’ CHEESE has jumped out well and will be strong late. CARDIGAN QUEEN has also been jumping out nicely to resume and is yet to run poorly first up. Selections: 5,1,2,9 Suggested Bet: Katalin to win Race 10 MEGAMEA should appreciate what appears to be a solid tempo. CHARTRES pulled up with a slow recovery last start, his previous form reads well for this. IT’S TORNADO STORM will strip fitter and is another that should appreciate a fast tempo. DO YOU RECKON, CARLISLE and THINK ‘N’ FLY are likely to be part of the speed and are right in the mix if they don’t bring each other undone. DENERO is another that will appreciate a strong tempo up front. Selections: 6,11,9,2 Suggested Bet: Megamea each way Market Market
