Warren Huntly’s Caulfield Best Bets Posted on July 8, 2022July 8, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly RACE 3 NO.6 OCEANA BLUE The Peter Moody-trained OCEANA BLUE stepped up to 2000m last start and although her performance may appear a little disappointing on face value, she is sure to have derived benefit from the run over the trip and didn’t have the clearest of passages in the home straight. All her performances to date have been that of a horse that will appreciate 2000m and beyond and she looks capable of atoning for her run as a beaten favourite last start with a win in this event. RACE 4 NO.1 FALLS FALLS has been given a solid grounding for the step up to 2000m. When the Mick Kent-trained galloper is at peak fitness he is able to sustain a strong gallop over 2000m and was a winner over this course and distance this time last year. From a favourable draw he should comfortably find a position on the speed and appeals as a value bet on a competitive card. RACE 5 NO.2 INUNDATION INUNDATION has been a revelation this preparation and the Mick Price and Michael Kent (Jnr)-trained sprinter should add to his string of victories with another win. He looks destined to make his mark in better races as his career develops and the step up to 1100m should hold no fears for him. Although he is likely to start a relatively short priced favourite, he appears to have both a class and fitness edge on a number of his key rivals and appeals the best bet of the day and an anchor for multis.
