Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 18, 2021November 18, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MACHNIFICENT (4) flashed home from the rear to finish 3rd here last week and appeals as the one to beat after drawing inside his main rival. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (5) worked hard to find the front at his last start but fought on well to beat home MACHNIFICENT (4) on that occasion and is the obvious danger. HESASHARK (1) crosses the Nullabor with good SA form and has the pole draw so monitor the betting at his first start here. HENRIK LARSSON (8) was a lot better at his last start and could be working back into form. Tips: 4 5 1 8 Suggested Bet: MACHNIFICENT (4) to win. Race 2 TYPHOON BANNER (12) started from this draw and did well to make up ground in a quick last half to run 2nd here last week. They are likely to run home slower tonight and he will be hard to hold out. LEOSABI (10) has impressed in winning his last two starts and will be hard to beat if he has any luck from his awkward draw. ROCKABALL (7) couldn’t have done much more when bloused out by Papinik here last week and can overcome the wide draw tonight. SANGUE REALE (5) has been disappointing but would win this easily at his best. Tips: 12 10 7 5 Suggested Bet: TYPHOON BANNER (12) to win. Race 3 THATS PERFECT (1) has disappointed in finishing at the rear in his last three starts. He would win this event easily if anywhere near his best but must be taken on trust. ROCK ME OVER (2) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be thereabouts at each way odds. FANCI A DANCE (4) was only 3.4m from the winner when 6th to Hampton Banner in a stronger field here last week and can play a part. QUEEN SHENANDOAH (6) is always running on and can be placed if the race is run to suit. Tips: 1 2 4 6 Suggested Bet: ROCK ME OVER (2) each way. Race 4 ROYAL ESSENCE (2) has been a well-beaten 3rd at her past three starts but looks the leader tonight and should give a great sight. STAR OF DIAMONDS (7) drops considerably in class and looks a big improver in this field. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (9) had a tough run when finishing towards the rear in the Norms Daughter Classic last week and looks better suited here despite the wide draw. GOTTA GO GABBANA (8) will appreciate racing against her own sex tonight and can improve sharply on her recent numerical form. Tips: 2 7 9 8 Suggested Bet: ROYAL ESSENCE (2) to win. Race 5 BLETCHLEY PARK (2) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last two starts but looks the leader here and should give a great sight. HURRICANE HARLEY (10) has impressed in winning in 1.53.3 and 1.55.3 at his last two starts and has the class to overcome the backline draw. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (5) disappointed when leading and being beaten first-up but will strip fitter for that effort. GALACTIC STAR (6) sprinted brilliantly to defeat MIGHTY CONQUEROR (5) at his last start and must be considered despite the draw. Tips: 2 10 5 6 Suggested Bet: BLETCHLEY PARK (2) to win. Race 6 TYLER BRETT (3) takes on an out of form line-up in this event and he will be extremely hard to catch if he can cross at the start. MACHLANI (1) has finished towards the rear in his four starts this time in but looks a big improver from the pole against this field. MCARDLES GEM (10) was blocked for a run in a stronger field here last week and will be hitting the line well if he sees daylight at the right time. JOE WITH THE FLOW (2) was caught in the breeze at his first run back from a spell and should get a better run in transit tonight. Tips: 3 1 10 2 Suggested Bet: TYLER BRETT (3) to win. Race 7 GLENLEDI CHIEF (6) won two in a row before finishing a brave second to JUST WING IT (8) and is the one to beat here. WITHOUTTHETUH (1) has had a freshen up since disappointing at his last start and will give a great sight if anywhere near his best. JUST WING IT (8) had the perfect camp on GLENLEDI CHIEF (6) when beating him last start and looks an obvious danger again but meets him 10m worse off at the handicaps. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (7) is better known as a mobile horse but can play a part. Tips: 6 1 8 7 Suggested Bet: GLENLEDI CHIEF (6) to win. Race 8 YOURE SO FINE (9) was an ultra-impressive 21m winner in 1.54.9 at his first run back from a spell and should be too good for this field. PAUL EDWARD (5) ran on to finish 2nd to the favourite in that event and looks a great chance to fill the quinella position again. IN THE SPOTLIGHT (6) has disappointed in her two runs back this time in but would be right in the finish at her best. FLOEWRITER (7) is the other class runner of the field but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 9 5 6 7 Suggested Bet: YOURE SO FINE (9) to win. Race 9 MAJOR MARTINI (3) impressed in leading and dashing home in 55.5 to win at his first start in 18 months. He looks likely to find the front again and will be very hard to catch. MY CARBON COPY (1) is likely to trail the favourite and looks the only danger, if there is one. ALTA ENGEN (4) is a nice up and coming pacer but the draw makes it tough. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (2) is likely to settle three back on the pegs and can be placed from that position. Tips: 3 1 4 2 Suggested Bet: MAJOR MARTINI (3) to win. Race 10 SOHO BROADWAY (7) crosses the Nullabor with strong Victorian form and has been racing against the likes of Ladies In Red. This represents a significant drop in class and she should prove hard to beat in her first run for the Hall camp. THREE RUMOURS (4) did things wrong when unplaced for the first time at her last start and is the obvious danger after drawing inside her main rivals. SAHARA STORM (5) also has solid Victorian form and must be considered. CAPTAINS BEACHBABE (8) is drawn poorly but is best of the rest. Tips: 7 4 5 8 Suggested Bet: SOHO BROADWAY (7) to win.
