Scott Embry’s Tuesday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 1, 2021November 1, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DEMERITS PRIDE looked above average at Lark Hill trials when leading and rolling for Pateman to win by 2L in the finish. Was easy on debut and finished a moderate sixth beaten 2.5L by Magnificent Andy, Glacier Miss, Eevalina and Diamond Blue. Looks more than handy form for a Geraldton maiden and provided Kate Witten can get him across he should be there in the finish. THREE SESSIONS didn’t fire a shot on debut or at start number two. If you go back and watch the trial leading into his debut, you’d be keeping him safe in this. GALATIC STORM ran into a few nice ones at trials recently. COLOUR ME QUICK should be winning a maiden sooner rather than later. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 11 – 8 Suggested Bet – DEMERITS PRIDE WIN RACE 2 BILLY JACK ran well at his Rhona Macphilomey debut and then was very plain last start. Did get carried wide and worked for the majority of the race but did get beaten off a fair way. Worth remembering he was $5.50 into $3.80 in that race and from the draw should get a softer run in an easier assignment. Tash Faithfull takes over and we will be following the money and following up with Billy Jack. FRIAR THE GUN has been given a number of trials in preparation for his first up run. 1600m looks on the shorter side for him. One paced staying type. I’M A BUSH CHOOK isn’t going too bad at all. BANGCRASH set some slick sections last start. Expecting a few to speck him at odds. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – BILLY JACK WIN RACE 3 BANDALERA MISS was fresh coming off the Carnarvon season on October 10th in a C2 when finishing third behind Ziera and Billy Jack. With any luck that form will hold up in Race 2 and then the form of her most recent run in a 58+ beaten 2.5L behind Megadon will be on show later in the day where he looks a special (again). 58+ back into a C1 and looks ready to finally breakthrough for another win. Considering she’s 1 from 27 she might be a chance of getting under the radar in early markets. GALAGA caught the eye at his return to racing for a new stable. With clear running he looks the one to beat. WHAT PLANET YOU ON is drawn awkwardly but starting to find his feet for Graeme Hammarquist. ZEEWIJK will be burning across to try and find the front. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – BANDALERA MISS EACHWAY RACE 4 MEGADON was crunched in betting late at the most recent Geraldton meeting and he didn’t let his loyal followers down. He landed in a position early care of a wonderful piece of riding by Brad Rawiller and then when he let down the race was over in a stride. Jett Stanley picks up the ride and after the claim actually drops 1.5kg and takes on arguably weaker opposition. Looks the winner on paper. SNIPNTUCK is first-up for Adam Durrant and he elects to put a senior on in Andrew Castle. Her form when last in work is solid. RED EPIC rolls along and always gives a sighter. HYPERSPACE is still looking for further. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – MEGADON WIN RACE 5 WARM N FUZZY will appreciate not running into Savage One here after finishing second to him at his last two outings. Both of those races rated far stronger than the average Geraldton C2/58+ and both were run faster than the average C2 (3.5L faster) and 58+ (3L faster). Drops back to a C2, only rises 1.5kg and is drawn to get the run of the race. Could be a big day for Ash Maley. LORDING showed he still has it last time out. Was only a Collie win but great to see him finally win another. Can go on with it now. MACALI was a find for Gary Sorensen last preparation. Well weighted, just needs luck. THE FULL QUID will be on a run and stun mission here. If she jumps and if she crosses it’s game on. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – WARM N FUZZY WIN RACE 6 STARTRADE looks like winning another 70+ at Geraldton before Kim Anderson bites the bullet and brings him to town. His first-up and second-up runs were huge in defeat and then he dominated late in a high rating event last time out. Steps out to 1400m which is more his go and after the claim only rises 1.5kg in weight. Looks like getting every chance and if he can beat Skinnen Tins then Kim can have some confidence that he’ll measure up in town. SKINNEN TINS is rarely seen out of the metro area these days but when she is, she invariably goes well. Big danger and extremely well placed by an astute yard. QUALITY FAIR might be able to work to the breeze and if he does, he’ll be up for the fight. OFF WEGO has some strong 3 year old form when last in work. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – STARTRADE WIN RACE 7 AMERICAN QUEEN is an speed type who went down by the narrowest of margins first-up at York. Loved the way she was fighting and kicking again the final few strides and drawn inside of Almatalk should ensure that Victoria Corver lands a position on top of the tempo enjoying a soft run. FANDAZZLE was an eye catching run for Scott Eyre first-up. If the mare can improve off that and get a more economical run in transit then she should be playing a part at an eachway price. RED CADILLAC broke her maiden well and looks a progressive kind of mare who can go through the grades in Geraldton. KING CABERNET was enormous last start. If he reproduces, he’s another live chance in an even and open race. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN QUEEN WIN RACE 8 PIT TO WIN won back to back races to start the Broome Season and then really went off the boil. Was 7 weeks between the NW season and the Moora Cup day when dominating them in a 64+ to win by 9L over a subsequent winner in The Finest. Most will ignore the Broome/Newman/Moora form but this is a galloper who can do it on the grass as well. Don’t discount and don’t be surprised to see money come for him. FOXHOOD was excellent at his return to racing. Nothing wrong with being outpunched late by Sun Power. Looks in for a good prep. DELAGO DEHERO ran well first-up and should land a prominent position. SIGNIFICANT HERO is usually good fresh. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – PIT TO WIN TO WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,5,6 1,2,4,7 1,2,6,8,9 1,3,4 Market Market
