Darren Clayton’s Albion Park Preview Posted on October 29, 2021October 29, 2021 | Posted by Darren Clayton RACE 1 MACH DA VINCI (11) is well and truly in beast mode at present and will be even fitter from his last start victory when fresh up after six-weeks. Brilliant in front in slick time two starts back, he has the versatility to put them away. L L COOL J (10) should take added benefit from his last start where the tempo was all against him with Turn It Up dictating in front. That was his first run back and the class factor is on his side against the others. KASH US BACK (1) is doing a super job from tough gates and positions that aren’t in his favour. An improved alley might help but could also hinder if shuffled back. MAJOR FERNCO (3) overturned his 0-9 record from at 2138m last week with a swooping win. He will need to step it up again. SELECTIONS: 11-10-1-3 SUGGESTED BET: MACH DA VINCI (11) to win RACE 2 CRAZY SHIPPO (8) hit the line strongly last week after settling rearward and running wide around the home bend. He will be reliant on the 1 burrowing through to lead and get him to the lane, but those factors look achievable. HERBS HERO (9) went around against Kiwis Are Flying last start and this looks more within reach. With the right trip he can finish like he did when 2nd two starts back. LIFEOFBRIAN (4) won’t find this as easy as he did last week where he seemed to have his chance. MEGA STAR (1) steps up in grade, but his last win on this track was in sharp time over this trip when sent to the front in a mid-race attack. SELECTIONS: 8-9-4-1 SUGGESTED BET: CRAZY SHIPPO (8) to win RACE 3 BLACKSADANCE (1) has been super in two runs back from a freshen, sectionally superb in both where he has been runner-up on each occasion. Big in victory three starts back in a 51.8 mile, #LeaderPeter can do his thing. REPLACED EYE (8) was back in wining form last week, scoring his first win under the training of Trent Dawson. He will be camped in the trail, ready for the passing lane with the mile more to his liking. SPEECH IS SILVER (5) was too far back last time as Northview Hustler controlled it and scampered up the lane putting it out of reach of the chasers. COLT THIRTY ONE (2) might just have to do the hard work again here from this gate and with the expected tempo, that is far from ideal. SELECTIONS: 1-8-5-2 SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (1) to win RACE 4 JONAH JONES (4) was a passing lane winner four starts back and has not been too far away in the three runs since, including a 2nd placing. He should slot straight into a position that is close enough to strike. JUMPING JACK JIMMY (2) has the gate and early speed to pounce on the lead and despite some indifferent form, has started to turn it around. With a chance to dictate, he gets his opportunity to bounce back. VINNY CHASE (5) held on for 3rd to Key Largo here last week and then was just too far back in a strong mile on Tuesday. The smaller filed will help. SAM IS PERFECTION (7) will also be aided by the smaller field where, despite landing the outside alley, would cause no surprise if he were to claim victory in a wide open veteran’s event. SELECTIONS: 4-2-5-7 SUGGESTED BET: JONAH JONES (4) to win RACE 5 OUR BONDI BEACH (1) tuned up for this when holding on for 2nd to At West Point here on Tuesday after settling in the trail. There should be some good early tempo and with a super record up the passing lane, should be in the ideal position to match the pattern. BITCOIN (3) was deep in the pack last start over the 2138m and his individual splits were super despite not featuring. An improved gate is a big plus. STREET APPEAL (6) can shanghai out of the machine and power up early. His effort behind Rock Fisherman 2 starts back was full of merit. The early expense is the only concern. SLICK BLASTER (2) was 2nd to Major Fernco last start after working hard in the run, a position he may just need to occupy once again.SELECTIONS: 1-3-6-2 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 1-3-6 / 1-2-3-6 / 1-2-3-6 RACE 6 CHASING THE WIND (1) has hit his straps and comes to Saturday night grade with 3 wins in his past 4 starts at Redcliffe. The most recent of those was a big win in slick time when sitting parked and the gate gives him all the favours. BEAST MODE (9) spent plenty of early petrol last week before taking cover and was still giving on the line when beaten a half-head. This gate will give him an easier passage. THE IDEAL DANCER (5) had been knocking on the door for a long time and finally strolled through last week. That was from gate 10 with gate 5 here making it tricky. GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (7) was only 1.5m from the winner last start in a blanket finish but the gate stings.SELECTIONS: 1-9-5-7 SUGGESTED BET: CHASING THE WIND (1) to win RACE 7 ROCK FISHERMAN (6) faces a stiff gate but has been in super form that includes 4 wins in his past 6 attempts. Pressing to the front and holding on last time, his effort 2 runs back behind Scarlet Babe was solid. WAHS FIRE BUG (4) is another that has been super consistent, finishing in the money in Saturday night company for 9 successive starts. Versatility is a big asset in her arsenal. THE DEMOCRAT (1) has the options with the speed to lead if required or taking the trail, a position he scored from last start. KEY LARGO (8) speared across to lead them up last start from gate 6 and controlled the tempo to an all the way win.SELECTIONS: 6-4-1-8 SUGGESTED BET: ROCK FISHERMAN (6) to win RACE 8 FAIRIESDELIGHT (4) sat parked here last Saturday and despite the tough trip was only 4m from the winner Lavazza. On a 4-day back-up, she was not suited at the 2138m on the Tuesday and finding the front here could be the difference. MOLLYS SECRET (6) has finished in 3rd place at her past 2 starts including here last Saturday where she was attacking the line in nice style. The gate is the query. MOLLIESMARYELLE (9) was a tidy 2nd to Delightful Reason three starts back. This is more suitable than her assignment here on Tuesday. OUR ANTONIO ROSE (7) has been a few pegs below where the market had her in the three runs since arriving in Qld and receives no favours from gate 7.SELECTIONS: 4-6-9-7 SUGGESTED BET: FAIRIESDELIGHT (4), to win RACE 9 SHEZ ALL STYLE (2) is appearing a more appealing choice after going over this race on several occasions. A nice 2nd here on Tuesday behind the smart 3YO Itz Cherokee Jack, she has early speed which is a big asset in this. MAGGIE (3) was well supported in the market here midweek but was too far out of the ground to feature. Where she can position from this gate is the query. BETTOR MEMORIES (1) darted through late for 2nd from this gate last week and maps for a similar trip in a similar field. CHEESANDKISSES (5) may not have the greatest numbers but should appreciate a return to her own sex, after things have not really gone her way of late. SELECTIONS: 2-3-1-5 SUGGESTED BET: SHEZ ALL STYLE (2) to win RACE 10 STRESS FACTOR (3) will make his first race appearance here for the Dixon stable. Arriving from Melbourne, he has been in much stronger races, lands on a very loose assessment, has trialled super and has great standing start manners. GEE UP NEDDY (4) won’t know himself off 10m here after overcoming bigger handicaps. Beaten a neck behind Northern Muscle two runs back from 40m, his manners are an asset. MAJESTIC SIMON (8) is the reigning Qld Trotter of the Year and resumes from a freshen after not much has been going right for him. JUSTABITNOISY (1) is never far from the action and can be poking through from this lane to find the position where he has been thereabouts in recent outings.SELECTIONS: 3-4-8-1 SUGGESTED BET: STRESS FACTOR (3) to win Market Market About Darren Clayton Darren provides Racing Queensland with his expert form analysis, tips and speedmaps for all TAB races in Queensland.
