Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 21, 2021October 21, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 PAUL EDWARD (8) has won two of his last three starts including a 14m victory here and is the one to beat despite the wide draw. LUCID DREAMS (6) has won two of his three race starts against easier company and is ready for the rise in class. GRIFFIN LODGE (7) showed plenty of ability early in his career before training off and will make his presence felt if he is anywhere near his top at his return. HILARIOUS REIGN (2) has trialled nicely in preparation for his debut and has a significant barrier advantage over his main rivals. Tips: 8 6 7 2 Suggested Bet: PAUL EDWARD (8) to win. Race 2 DIEGO (10) is first-up without a trial but raced well in stronger company last time in and will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time from his awkward draw. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (6) has been forced to face the breeze at his last two starts and can be a big improver if he can find the top tonight. ALTA INTRIGUE (7) was a strong winner from the breeze in good time here last week and must be considered. INFATUATION (1) has won 12 of his 32 career starts and has the speed and draw to have options in the run. Tips: 10 6 7 1 Suggested Bet: DIEGO (10) to win. Race 3 SHEEZ OUR HOPE (4) has won six of her ten race starts and ran a nice 2nd in quick time in a recent Pinjarra trial. This is her biggest test to date but she is drawn inside her main rivals and should give a great sight. SAVVY BROMAC (10) has charged home at her two runs back from a spell and should be right in the finish. WAINUI CREEK (9) has won three of her last four starts and has shown that she is capable of overcoming wide draws. GOTTA GO GABBANA (7) should be ready to fire at her third run back from a break. Tips: 4 10 9 7 Suggested Bet: SHEEZ OUR HOPE (4) each way. Race 4 BLETCHLEY PARK (8) has impressed in winning both of his starts back from a spell and looks capable of overcoming the wide draw. IDEAL LINER (1) led when a narrow 2nd to BLETCHLEY PARK (8) two starts back and is the obvious danger from the pole. GALACTIC STAR (2) was less then 4m from the winner when 3rd to the favoured pair and is drawn to get the run of the race tonight. GOLDEN STATE (4) is first up from a long break but has trialled fairly and can make his presence felt. Tips: 8 1 2 4 Suggested Bet: BLETCHLEY PARK (8) to win. Race 5 FINVARRA (4) is an exciting 3YO who won his last three starts before going for a break, including a 1.53.7 victory from the breeze. He warmed up for his return with a stunning 45m trial victory and is clearly the one to beat. HENGHENG (2) faced the breeze when a 1.56.8 winner two starts back and will give a great sight if he can lead here. MACHNIFICENT (10) isn’t the strongest pacer going around but has a sharp turn of foot and can be dangerous. DOC HOLLIDAY (12) has won four of his last five starts but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 4 2 10 12 Suggested Bet: MACHNIFICENT (10) each way. Race 6 ALWAYS AN ANGEL (9) has won all four starts this time in and is clearly the one to beat despite the wide draw. BOORAA (5) has finished runner-up at her past three starts, two of them behind the favourite, and looks the main danger again. ROYAL ESSENCE (7) has won five of her last six in easier company and is proven at this level. OUR STAR BILLING (6) was only 3.4m away when 3rd to ALWAYS AN ANGEL (9) two starts back and can be placed with the right run. Tips: 9 5 7 6 Suggested Bet: ALWAYS AN ANGEL (9) to win. Race 7 ALTA BLUES (10) was first-up in a strong field and faced the breeze before knocking up late when 4th to Miracle Moose here last week. It is never easy to overcome a 40m handicap at GP but he is clearly the class runner of the field. NEARIS GREEN (2) led when narrowly beaten by Withoutthetuh here two starts back and will give them something to catch if he finds the top. HIT THE SKY (8) has been placed in six of his last seven starts and should be thereabouts again. THE TIGER ARMY (1) shouldn’t be far away from his perfect draw. Tips: 10 2 8 1 Suggested Bet: ALTA BLUES (10) to win. Race 8 EUPHORIA (4) has only finished further back than 2nd in two of his 11 starts this time in and looks a major player again tonight. MEDIEVAL MAN (5) drops significantly in class on his last four efforts and should make his presence felt. ZAZU (3) led when a narrow 2nd to Doc Holliday here last week and should be right in the finish again. SMART FORTUNE (1) led throughout to defeat a weaker field at his last start and has options from the pole. Tips: 4 5 3 1 Suggested Bet: EUPHORIA (4) to win. Race 9 SAHARA TIGER (2) crosses the Nullabor after racing in stronger fields in Victoria and should prove hard to beat from his nice draw. DOUBLE EXPRESSO (5) wasn’t disgraced when finishing towards the rear here last week and will appreciate the drop in class. MAJOR STARE (10) ran on well to finish 3rd at his last start and looks a good place chance from the draw if he sees daylight at the right time. TIFFANY ROSE (4) didn’t get into the race at her first run back from a spell but can improve here. Tips: 2 5 10 4 Suggested Bet: SAHARA TIGER (2) to win. Race 10 DOMINATE THE DOJO (5) has a losing sequence of 45 but performed well when 4th here last week and must be considered in this line-up. OUR SEQUEL (3) will appreciate the drop in class and looks a major player. JOE WITH THE FLOW (10) has finished near the rear in his first two starts back from a spell but should be ready to show his best tonight. C C CHEVRON (1) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 5 3 10 1 Suggested Bet: DOMINATE THE DOJO (5) to win. Market Market
