Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on September 17, 2021September 17, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DO IT RIGHT found himself in a very deep 1400m maiden at Belmont Park last weekend. Hoover, Red Hot Hope, Atlantis Beach, Forty Niner and Ocean Aura all look like maidens who can go onto bigger and better things in the next few months. DO IT RIGHT returns to Kalgoorlie where he had two maiden outings and was solid in both when going round $3. This looks an even thinner edition and should take beating. AMERICAN GRIN seems to find ways to get beat. Pike jumps aboard and that will no doubt attract many a punter to butter up yet again. Running out of chances. OUR CHARLIE BOY showed toe last start and gave cheek from out in front. THE SLUG must have been named by psychics. Clicking refresh on the Landor noms. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DO IT RIGHT WIN RACE 2 WARPIPES split Mrs America and Changman last start in a Northam maiden and that should prove easily strong enough form to be pinching a Kalgoorlie maiden. Drawn perfectly in barrier 2, showed sufficient gate speed last start to ensure he can hold a position and with the likely leader Meet Joe Black a horse who can run around under pressure there should be sufficient room to move in the home straight. Looks his best chance yet. MEET JOE BLACK will only improve as Dave Smith gets him out over further. Shouldn’t be too long until he breaks through. WORLD RULER has a set of shades re-attached and kept coming last start. AUNTY JEAN is not an easy ride but the mare has ability. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – WARPIPES WIN RACE 3 DON’T ARGUE BUSTER broke his maiden at Geraldton when last in work beating La Chiave who went onto bigger and better things later in the campaign. Then finished second in a Class 2 and fourth when not getting much luck in another C2 at 1100m. Has had two trials leading into this and with the Jett Stanley claim and the inside draw he gets a great chance to run a big race. YOYO’S is likely to stalk the every move of the leaders and then punters will be banking on W.Pike doing what he does best and finding clear air. HEELS A PLENTY brings metro and provincial form to the Country. Only three starts ago finished third in a C5. BORN SPICY will be winning one of these races when she draws a gate to lead without pressure. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – DON’T ARGUE BUSTER WIN RACE 4 REGAL DIVIDEND has been a model of consistency since joining the Cambana Lodge team. Jump and run type of mare who is suited to the KBRC style of racing and comes from the Little Ses form lines which should prove the strongest. Last time out sat in the breeze in a fast run mile and only faded late. 1600 back to 1400m, less speed and less pressure here and should be right there in the finish. Great race for her. JOYRIZE is drawn to box seat on the back of her and from there Pike is dangerous. Great to see the Saints Colours getting a run in late September #irony. BLISTER IN THE SUN draws low and gets a nice tow into it. SASSATIONAL continues to savage the line. Just gets too far out of her ground. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – REGAL DIVIDEND WIN RACE 5 THE BEACH could be on the 4 day back-up from a bold front running performance at Belmont in a C3 on Wednesday. Gets back to Kalgoorlie, drawn to kick straight through and lead, is a mare in form and rarely runs a bad race. Has all the form around the fancies and is always an eachway quote. If she starts, she’ll give cheek. DARK MISSION had the hot Kaptain Kaos form to her name when going round an eachway quote in a Kalgoorlie 58+. Won well, carried the weight and should only improve start to start. SEMIGEL is another Pike runner drawn gate 1. Maybe the fence will be off and it’s a handicap? Horse flying. PROTECTED ACTION can sit outside of The Beach and kick strongly again. Numbers: 12 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – THE BEACH WIN RACE 6 MOSCHARD runs a lot of eye catchers in the metro area and no doubt MR Peter Fernie has been targeting this race and the Hannans Handicap with him. Has to lump 62.5kg but from the barrier Mitch Pateman can have him covered up midfield with cover and be ridden for luck. If the gaps appear, he has a powerful turn of foot. Pateman rides Kalgoorlie brilliantly and this is the kind of horse he suits. STARALIGN was great in defeat at his return in the Coolgardie Sprint with weight. No idea where he gets from the barrier but he is versatile. STARTTHEFRIAR was enormous in the same race. Kept out of trouble he just strode past them with an air of arrogance. MAGNIFORCE is a talent on his day. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – MOSCHARD EACHWAY RACE 7 DIVINE SHADOW was resuming first-up in the Coolgardie Cup with 59.5kg from a sticky alley. In a race which was simply dominated from the front by Living The Dream he caught the eye as one of the better finishing efforts through traffic. Should be improved fitness wise, gets a 2kg weight swing on Living The Dream and is a proven Cups horse. FRIAR FOX showed the difference a firm track can make to certain horses. Couldn’t see the winners with a periscope at Belmont and improved sharply to show she’s still got it. LIVING THE DREAM is a query at the trip but was home at the 1200m marker in the Coolgardie Cup. BELLA’S IDOL has metro form around Zaratite. Should be more than measuring up and is well suited in the weights scale. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DIVINE SHADOW WIN RACE 8 MAGIC WILL REIGN looks well placed into this 58+ 1760. Going back 5 starts ago was a winner this track, this distance in a 64+ beating Pink and Purple who then went on winning spree which included the Tatts Cup. Since then Magic Will Reign has contested 2x 62+, a 69+ Tatts Cup and a m83+ Coolgardie Cup where he raced 7kg outside the handicap and was only beaten 4L. Great use of the claim and excellent placement. MAJOR MAMBO is a different horse under Pateman. Every time they team up together they run well. Finished in the money at 11/14 runs. Bring on the Major Lacka. DALSWINTON broke a long run of outs last start. PRETTY FRIAR was doing her best late over the mile. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – MAGIC WILL REIGN WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4,5,7,12 1,4,7 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,11 1,5 Market Market
