Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 25, 2021March 25, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Photo: Hamilton Content Creators Race 1 LAVRA JOE (5) has been simply awesome this campaign including a 20m victory here last week in scintillating time. He is drawn outside his main rival tonight but has race fitness on his side and will be extremely hard to beat. JUMPINGJACKMAC (3) has only had four career starts but shows plenty of promise and is the obvious danger despite his inexperience. GIVE US A WAVE (1) is drawn to get a nice run on the pegs and looks a great place chance. AUSSIE SCOOTER (2) goes up in class tonight but shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 5 3 1 2 Suggested Bet: LAVRA JOE (5) to win. Race 2 OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (1) was a strong winner three starts back and hasn’t disgraced himself in his subsequent efforts behind the smart Texas Tiger and looks the one to beat from the pole. MY CARBON COPY (12) ran on solidly to finish 3rd in a 55.7 last half at his first run back from a break and is the class horse of the field. NAVAL AVIATOR (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on the back of the favourite and shouldn’t be far away. MAJOR STARE (2) has been placed in three of his last five starts and is drawn to be in the finish. Tips: 1 12 10 2 Suggested Bet: NAVAL AVIATOR (10) each way. Race 3 GRAN CHICO (2) raced well last campaign in stronger company and warmed up for this with a recent Byford trial win. He is well drawn tonight and should give a great sight. WALSH (1) was crossed from this barrier and blocked for a run at his last start and looks a major player here. RAKASINC (6) led throughout to record an impressive win here last week and must be considered again despite being unlikely to find the front tonight. MR KIWI (3) should enjoy a nice run close to the speed and can be in the finish. Tips: 2 1 6 3 Suggested Bet: GRAN CHICO (2) to win. Race 4 EXTRADITE (1) has gone to a new level this time in and was ultra-impressive in winning in 1.56.3 at his last start. He should lead a tonight and prove very hard to catch. THOMSON BAY (4) followed his four consecutive victories with a solid 6th behind Texas Tiger at his last start and looks the main danger. HENWOOD BAY (10) is first-up tonight but must be considered from this draw on his form before a break. LIGHTNING JOLT (2) chased hard when 2nd to Rakasinc last week and will be thereabouts from his nice draw. Tips: 1 4 10 2 Suggested Bet: EXTRADITE (1) to win. Race 5 ALICE KAY (9) was beaten in a close finish but far from disgraced when 2nd in 1.53.8 here last week. She was first-up on that occasion and will strip fitter tonight. WAINUI CREEK (10) has disappointed at her last two starts but is the proven performer in this field and must be respected. NIKASA (4) has run nice 2nds at her past three starts and can be in the finish with the right trip. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (7) was a gallant 2nd here last week but looks likely to be forced to work hard again. Tips: 9 10 4 7 Suggested Bet: ALICE KAY (9) to win. Race 6 MIGHTY CONQUEROR (1) has faced the breeze and finished 3rd at both starts back from a spell. He draws to lead to night and should prove hard to beat. GALACTIC STAR (7) disappointed in the Pinjarra Cup but he may not have been suited by the slow track on that occasion and has the class to bounce back. CHIAROSCURO (4) has been placed at his past three starts in this company and should be thereabouts again. RUNAWAY THREE (2) sat on Texas Tiger when 2nd to that pacer last week and is drawn to get a similar trip tonight. Tips: 1 7 4 2 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY CONQUEROR (1) to win. Race 7 LAWRENCE (4) won his last two starts before a spell in easier company and also impressed with placings behind the likes of Diego. He is first-up tonight without a trial but has class on his side and looks the one to beat. POISEDTOPOUNCE (1) led when a solid 3rd here last week and will appreciate the shorter trip tonight. ROLL WITH ME (10) has been placed in two of his last four starts and is drawn to get a soft trip on the pegs. BOOM TIME (8) faced the breeze when a strong 2nd in quick time here last week but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 4 3 1 8 Suggested Bet: LAWRENCE (4) to win. Race 8 WAR SPIRIT (5) returned to his best form when sprinting over the top of his rivals late to win in solid time at Pinjarra. He does possess good gate speed and can bring up back-to-back victories here. ALWAYS A DREAMER (9) broke when 4th in that event and is an obvious danger despite the wide draw. DARK SECRET (10) has been placed in seven of his past eight starts and will be running on strongly. ON FAST FORWARD (2) broke through for his first win in the state last week and is drawn to be prominent. Tips: 5 9 10 2 Suggested Bet: WAR SPIRIT (5) to win. Race 9 BLACK JACK BABY (9) has won 11 of her 18 race starts and is still the one to beat despite drawing the outside barrier. She probably has the speed to cross at the start if desired but is also capable of rounding them up with her finishing burst. ALWAYS AN ANGEL (8) has won six of her ten career starts including a good win over BLACK JACK BABY (9) four starts back and is the obvious danger. UNCONDITIONAL (4) and NEWSY (6) don’t have the class of their main two rivals but can be placed. Tips: 9 8 4 6 Suggested Bet: BLACK JACK BABY (9) to win. Race 10 BUSHWACKED (4) is an improving type who was ultra-impressive in breaking his maiden status with a 15m 1.56.9 victory at his last start and can go on with it now. GRIFFIN LODGE (3) did things wrong but was far too good for his rivals on debut and looks to have plenty of ability. LINEBACKER (2) ran into plenty of trouble on debut but still managed to finish 2nd and looks a major player if he does everything right. SEVEN NO TRUMPS (6) has won three of his four race starts but draws the outside tonight and will need some luck. Tips: 4 3 2 6 Suggested Bet: BUSHWACKED (4) to win. Market Market
