Scott Embry’s Saturday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 13, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DON’T ARGUE BUSTER has his first start for a new yard – now with the astute Gordon Spowart yard after 6 starts in the metro and provincial area with David Harrison. Does have a second placing at Belmont in a Metro Maiden and while he is no star that should be strong enough to win first-up in Geraldton. LA CHAIVE is kept fresh by Sean Rains and his yard are all going well. She has the speed to get across from the sticky gate. NEW PRINCESS resumes and showed glimpses of ability when last in work. MISS BOUGAINVILLEA got beaten a furlong at Lark Hill but has no weight and some gate speed. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – DON’T ARGUE BUSTER WIN RACE 2 GLAMOURESQUE is an 8 start maiden who ran her first minor placing last time out. Was only beaten a nose and looked absolutely home until the last stride. Draws a gate, Peter Knuckey goes aboard and up to Geraldton when bypassing Ascot and this should be nearly a winner for him. IMAGE KEEPER didn’t fire at Barker but had genuine excuses. Worth inclusion at a price. LA MORNE is bred in the purple and has schooled up with Team Williams. Keep safe definitely. CAFÉ NERA is likely a staying filly and might find this a shade short. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet – GLAMOURESQUE WIN RACE 3 RIVAROLA was highly impressive at his WA debut. Eye catching from back in the field when engaged in a bumping duel and unable to get out under Bitovemu and matched motors for the majority of the home straight. Thinking that he can pinch this at his second start in the west. FAMILY DISCUSSION was the beneficiary of a Troy Turner peach last time out and if he repeats that ride he can win back to back races. WILLHEGO WEST is on fire this campaign and his savaging the line. MAY KEEP HIM comes out of an exceptionally fast run race behind Can He Hussel and kept coming. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – RIVAROLA WIN RACE 4 BANK ON IT is arguably the most intriguing runner of the meeting. Winner two starts ago at Cranbourne when leading all the way and dominating in a 1200m maiden. Came across to WA and only beat 1 horse home at Northam when beaten 11L. Now resumes for Tiarnna Robertson off the back of a hot trial (55.28) at Lark Hill. Looks well placed in a moderate line-up. ALL THE JULZ joins the Hammarquist yard and she has run some nice races, albeit over further, in her short career with Darren McAuliffe. GLITCH INTHESYSTEM flies for Hannah Fitzgerald and is drawn to do no work in the run. SHE’S GOT MERIT has a new home too and can improve drawn a gate. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – BANK ON IT WIN RACE 5 SAUCY JACK backs up off 6 days coming out of the York Cup. The last two runs have been excellent for Ben Owen who has this horse flying. The second in the York Cup behind all conquering veteran grey Push to Pass was enormous and while he has to lump 62kg this is a big drop in grade and Troy Turner offsets that weight. DEFIANTLY drops in weight with the engagement of Hannah Fitzgerald and needs every inch of the trip. CAN HE HUSSEL simply ran them into the ground last start. Victoria Corver likely to adopt similar front running tactics. TRADE THUNDER was the target of smart money last start and ran well considering the wide run. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – SAUCY JACK WIN RACE 6 COOL SERENITY was the find of the year for John Reynolds in late 2019. Five starts for 4 wins with the only defeat coming in the Batavia Sprint behind Field of Vision, Recoiled and Red Publisher. Resumes without a trial but John Reynolds is one of the stables in Geraldton who you trust to have them ready to fire. STARTHEFRIAR is travelling around for Kylie Craig and the last start win was brilliant. The only query on the form is dropping back in trip to 1200. MEGADON is going great guns since joining Ash Maley and does no work from three back the fence. ARABIAN RICHES an improver. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – COOL SERENITY WIN RACE 7 ANGRY ANNIE is a different mare when she is racing at Punters Paradise Utakarra. Four outings, 3 wins including last start when sitting outside the leader and pulling away late to score an emphatic win in career best time. Gets in with only 54kg coming up into c70+ grade and looks to have this race at her mercy. MISS ELLMYA ran second in that race and is a really good use of Keshaw Dhurun’s 3kg claim. Drawn to lead and takes running down. M’LADY is high speed and highly talented but can Mollie Clark get across? DASHING IMAGE might need the run and the draw hurts. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – ANGRY ANNIE WIN Quad (R4 – R7) 2 2,4,5,7,8,10 1,2,7 4,10 Market Market
