Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on August 13, 2020August 17, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TRADE FAIR EXPRESS has had his fair share of chances but rarely going to get one as good as this. He has had 12 opportunities and failed to open his account but from the draw he should settle right over the top of a race devoid of speed and prove too good. MAYFAIR TRADER could be a sharp improver and it wouldn’t surprise to see her lead this from the inside. Not a bad effort first-up when held up at a crucial stage. TIME STARTS NOW draws a gate and has caught the eye at both runs back. FIRE GODDESS was horrendous last start without any excuse. She’s better than that. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – TRADE FAIR EXPRESS WIN RACE 2 CLAIRVOYANCE caught national attention last start with her blistering win. She went 6.5L faster than the Jockey’s Celebration Day Sprint (containing the likes of Floyd, Jericho Missile, Mervyn and Essential Spice) and her rating on the day was off the map. No matter what price she opens she’ll get plunged at the shorts based off the time she clocked last time out. WATCH ME DANCE is a stakes winning filly returning to the races. Will be chasing a fair way out but class takes her a long way. CHAMPAGNE DIVA looks likely to stalk Clairvoyance and try to hold on to fill a hole. KEEP YOUR FEET ran well last week with a change of tactics. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – CLAIRVOYANCE WIN RACE 3 SERENITY BAY had to dig deep last start to get the victory and while it wasn’t overly impressive to the eye she had to reel off the fastest F600, F400 and F200 of the event to score. From the draw she can settle much closer in the run and should again be the hardest to beat. Consistent mare who continues to improve with racing. SNOWCHINO ran well first-up over an unsuitable 1000m sprint. Steps straight into a 1400m, strikes a small field and should be able to roll to the top for noted front running apprentice Chloe Azzopardi. From her favourite role she should be hard to gun down. NOT TO BE MIST is becoming a little frustrating for punters with continual eye-catching runs. He was ridden upside down last stat and was the victim of a ridiculously strong tempo. POSITION OF POWER may be forced to breeze outside Snowchino but he is going super. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – SERENITY BAY WIN RACE 4 PRINCE TURBO looks just about ready to win one. Backs up off 7 days, steps out to a staying trip for the first time in the preparation and has put the writing on the wall at his last two. His run behind Inspirational Girl was far better than it reads on paper and last week he ran well in a high rating affair behind the talented and under-rated Fuhrer. Gets his chance here. NOIR DE RUE is as tough and honest as they come. He’ll roll forward to either lead or sit outside Saxon Saxoff and if it turns into a grind he’ll be up for the fight. BURNING PRIDE won well last start but seems to go lengths better for William Pike than anyone else. Clearly hard to beat and should enjoy a soft run. DOUBLE DIGIT proved a few doubters wrong last start and looks like he will stay. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – PRINCE TURBO WIN RACE 5 MONTELENA is clearly the one to beat and likely opens odds on. She maps to get every favour in the run and it could well be a massive day for Chris Parnham in the saddle. She has always promised to go right through the grades and is starting to show a little more maturity in her parade. Finally broke through last start and can go on with it now. STORMY RULER may well end up last in the run but he is going super at the minute and if any rain comes before the running of race 5 it will only enhance his chances. Effort last start against the pattern was huge and Kyra Yuill is riding well. WEE RIPPER comes from the same race as Stormy Ruler and should get a very soft run leader’s back. STRIKE FORCE is a huge class dropper. No surprise to see him run a cheeky race. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – MONTELENA WIN RACE 6 WEAPONSON has the senior rider on for the first time in the preparation and with an absolute abundance of speed in the race (Super Ex, Kennedy, Citichant, Round the Point and Stirling Estate) should be able to settle midfield with cover. This looks a nice race for him and all of his form is strong enough to contest the finish. MY LAINA was climbing out of the ground first-up and has a wonderful second-up record. Blinkers back on, Chris Parnham on, worth inclusion at a price. AY TEE EMM was enormous first-up last preparation. Keep safe at a price. STIRLING ESTATE is no world beater but is racing well and draws a plumb gate. Numbers: 4 – 12 – 3 – 15 Suggested Bet – WEAPONSON WIN RACE 7 FREE TRADE will be flying the flag for a lot of punters and by this stage Chris Parnham could have already kicked home two odds on favourites. Couldn’t have trialled any better on both occasions leading into his first-up assignment and this race has no speed at all. He could well end up in front by default and if he gets away with a cheap section good luck running him down. FLOYD is arguably in career best form. Was super when winning last start and see no reason why he can’t flash late again. PYM’S ROYALE was the run of the race and the run of the meeting in the HG Bolton when flooding home against the pattern. ESSENTIAL SPICE is not known as a 1200m horse but she gets a touch of weight relief. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – FREE TRADE WIN RACE 8 SILKINIZE can blend into the field from the draw and there is a stack of speed which should suit him down to the ground. Brilliant pick-up ride for Shaun O’Donnell and if he reproduces the turn of acceleration from either of his last two starts he’ll take holding out late. CLIFFS OF COMFORT is far better suited at 1200m than he was first-up at 1000m. Likely to have to sit outside Mia Dolce but he’ll look the winner turning for home. DOUBLE BUBBLE was attacked last weekend and did a good job to fight on and finish as close as she did. JERICHO MISSILE returned to his best last start. Always a query with a 3kg claimer on a horse in traffic but if he sees daylight he’ll flash. Numbers: 10 – 12 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – SILKINIZE EACHWAY RACE 9 INFLATION looks awfully hard to beat in the last and a backable price to find out. Drops from a 72+ behind Serenity Bay and Position of Power back into a Graduation and from the draw Lucy Warwick should have him either leading or stalking the speed from Patristic or Ohbeeh. Either way he gets a great opportunity to bounce back into the winner’s enclosure. DOUBLE THE PRO had no luck at all last start. His previous outing behind Levitate was brilliant. Well worth forgiving. THE ESCORT should enjoy a soft run midfield and has been going well without winning of late. OHBEEH was a good thing beat last start but this is a deal harder. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – INFLATION WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,4,7,8,9,10,12,15 1 2,5,9,10,12 3,5 Market Market
