Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on January 17, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RUBYCHINO trialed alright at Bunbury recently and should show sufficient early toe to get across from what is a sticky gate on paper. Limited field and lots have had their chance, she could be the improver. Solid on debut only beaten 3L Why Choose Her. KESHENA has had 11 starts and never finished in the money but looks to have found a race where she can figure. REDWOOD RANSOM went back to trials after last start and was good. HAIL CAESAR a bolter. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – RUBYCHINO WIN Race 2 SPICULUS was well thought of on debut off the back of some impressive trial outings. Was a shade unlucky on debut at Mt Barker and should take natural improvement out of that appearance. DOLLY’S DREAM has had 2 starts for Paul Hunter and both have been full of merit. FAIR JUSTICE lost Kyra Yuill at the 50m marker of a recent Bunbury trial, the 950m before that was handy. TWO COOL is speedy but paddles late. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – SPICULUS WIN Race 3 NORSKE CODE had to go back from a tricky draw at her WA debut and was doing her best late. Shaun McGruddy goes on, she draws a better gate and returns to Albany where she trialed the house down. Very hard to beat. DYNAMITE BAY is in a rich vein of form. Backs up off 7 days and should get a nice run midfield. IBIZA will ensure they run. Might need to do a bit of work to find the top. CHENERY RED has the ability to run a race first-up. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – NORSKE CODE WIN Race 4 SPIRIT AND FIRE was last seen in mid December when finishing off relatively well over 1400 (even though beaten 6L). The 1200 is far more suitable than 1400 for him and Mitch Pateman and Mark Bairstow combine for winners year round. Keen on his chances against a far weaker field than he has seen for a while. LITTLE PUNGA comes out of the Fitzpatrick Plate. Should be on speed and there for a fair way. ABU DHABI takes advantage of the luxurious claim for in-form apprentice Laqdar Ramoly. MONGOLIAN WARLORD to improve drawn inside. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – SPIRIT AND FIRE WIN Race 5 PINK ‘N’ GRAY was 2.5 months between runs when fresh at Bunbury. Drew a horror gate, went back to last in a fast run race and then never really got warm. Second-up, drops in grade, draws a gate and McGruddy goes on. Looks hard to beat. LADY STINGRAY would be hard to beat if Kyra Yuill was able to find the front. GET OVER IT is well placed in this grade but admittedly racing below his best. MAJESTIC MAN will be a big price but can run a race. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – PINK ‘N’ GRAY WIN Race 6 SO GREAT gets the services of Mitchell Pateman. As seen on Friday at Esperance and week in, week out in Kalgoorlie he is a class act and gives them every possible hope. So Great can race on speed or off speed and this is a moderate field. AMBER HIGHWAY jumps up in trip but few ride the stayers as well as P.Hall. MYGIRLFRANKIE has been running some encouraging late sections and draws soft. VITAL BOOM a mad one for novelty players. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 14 Suggested Bet – SO GREAT WIN Race 7 PALACHINO has had an interrupted preparation, bars on, bars off, scratched on occasion. Clearly nothing has gone right but if she is anywhere near 100% for this assignment she should go close. Has ability and a turn of foot. TAMPERING FALLS has weight to carry but looks like finding the front here. TRIGGERFISH ran well second-up, keep safe. RAGING ROCKET was eye catching two starts ago. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – PALACHINO WIN Race 8 RED PUBLISHER has had a long preparation but continues to run ripping races at various distances. Effort last Saturday in the Mandurah Cup when slightly hampered at the top of the corner was excellent. Beaten only 2.5L in a race run 5L faster than average and only just outside the track record. Any luck from the gate and he runs a big race. MANKIND won the Fitzpatrick Plate last weekend and drops 1kg into the Mungrup Stud Sprint due to the addition of Flow to the field. Should get every chance of making it a Great Southern feature double. FLOW is the class runner and went close in the Carbine. MY GREEK BOY loves Albany and trialed well enough. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – RED PUBLISHER WIN Race 9 DEFIANTLY is a back marker and by race 9 punters will know whether or not she has any chance. If they are making any ground at all she will be very hard to roll. Third up looks ideal and Peter Hall a big engagement for a mare who needs to be wound up. PROXY is the opposite, he is the likely leader even considering the wide draw. If it has been on-pace he’ll take running down. WAR KSAR is going huge and knocking on the door. CLASSIC JACK is better than last week. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – DEFIANTLY WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,6,8,11,14 1,3,6,7 1,4,9 4,5,7,9,12,15 Market Market
