Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 19, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 MAGESTIC PRINCE (11) has resumed from a spell with two solid placings and should be spot on for this assignment. He is better suited racing near the lead but should be charging home tonight. MARAS ACE MAN (9) was a good last start winner in quick time and has the best form in the race but has a tough barrier to overcome. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (4) has been placed at nine of his past ten starts and won’t be far away again. FAKE NEWS (6) has finished just behind the placegetters at her two runs back from a spell and can play a part. Tips: 11 9 4 6 Suggested Bet: MAGESTIC PRINCE (11) each way. Race 2 SON OF A TIGER (1) hasn’t had much luck with barriers and has been finishing just behind the placegetters. He won’t know himself from the pole and looks the leader and one to beat. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (11) resumed with a solid 2nd to Roman Aviator and is the other class runner in this field. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (6) ran some nice races last time in and should be thereabouts first-up from a break. THE TRILOGY (10) is drawn to sit on the leaders’ back and can be in the money. Tips: 1 11 6 10 Suggested Bet: SON OF A TIGER (1) to win. Race 3 GOTTA GO GABBANA (7) followed some good form with a well-deserved all-the-way win in the Westral Mares Classic. She is drawn wider tonight but has the strength to face the breeze and will run a big race. MISS SANGRIAL (1) has clearly fared the best at the draw of the main chances and will give a great sight from the pole. OUR ALFIE ROMEO (9) has been placed at 16 of her past 17 starts but has the widest draw to overcome. DRACARYS (8) is ready to show her best and can win with the right trip in transit. Tips: 7 1 9 8 Suggested Bet: GOTTA GO GABBANA (7) to win. Race 4 HERRICK ROOSEVELT (1) is first-up from a break without a trial but is drawn to run a big race. He defeated Handsandwheels the last time he found the front and should give a great sight at each way odds. MOTU PREMIER (7) defeated Mighty Conqueror and then sat outside that pacer when a gallant 2nd and should be right in the finish. VULTAN TIN (8) was ultra-impressive in winning here last week and Voak has chosen him over MOTU PREMIER (7). BILL HALEY (3) was desperately unlucky here last week and will be charging home. Tips: 1 7 8 3 Suggested Bet: HERRICK ROOSEVELT (1) each way. Race 5 PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (1) attempted to lead throughout in the Golden Nugget and was only run down by Shockwave in the shadows of the post. This is an easier assignment and he is clearly the one to beat. AMERICAN BRAVE (8) copped a severe check at a crucial stage here last week and looks the main danger. OCEAN RIDGE (7) wasn’t suited facing the breeze last week and can be in the finish with the right run. CROCODILE KID (10) is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 1 8 7 10 Suggested Bet: PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (1) to win. Race 6 SPEED MAN (2) didn’t have the right run here last week but can work his way to the front tonight and will be very hard to beat over the sprint trip. IDEAL LINER (7) is the best horse in the field but isn’t suited by the sprint trip and wide draw. OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (5) continues to race well in collectively stronger fields than he meets tonight and should be thereabouts. THE DALI EXPRESS (4) is flying and must be considered on his 1.53.3 win here two starts back. Tips: 2 7 5 4 Suggested Bet: SPEED MAN (2) to win. Race 7 SIMBA BROMAC (5) has run two nice 2nds at his past two starts and this looks his race tonight. ZENNART (11) has been beaten by big margins in his three runs back from a spell but it won’t shock to see him improve here. ROMAN AVIATOR (10) is racing extremely consistently but isn’t suited by the draw. ATHABASCAN (6) hasn’t had much luck at his last two starts and can figure tonight. Tips: 5 11 10 6 Suggested Bet: SIMBA BROMAC (5) to win. Race 8 AMERICAN TOUR (2) started from a wide barrier when a solid 5th at his first run in WA. He has very good gate speed and looks the one to beat tonight. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE (6) had no chance the way was run last week but had won two of his previous three starts and must be considered. BLACK MAGIC MARA (1) was a solid 3rd here during the week and shouldn’t be far away from the pole. ROCKMENOW (3) fought on well to finish 3rd here last week and can be in the money again. Tips: 2 6 1 3 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN TOUR (2) to win. Race 9 JIMMY MACK (7) resumed from a spell with a solid 3rd against a similar field to what he meets tonight. He will strip fitter for that run and is better suited by the extra distance of tonight’s event. KIWI BLOKE (1) was taken on in front when a narrow 2nd in that race and would be the horse to beat but performed poorly in a mobile here last week. ALWAYS AN HONOUR (2) faced the breeze and knocked up last start but can bounce back tonight. IDEAL INVESTMENT (4) comes off a dominant mobile win and can play a part here. Tips: 7 1 2 4 Suggested Bet: JIMMY MACK (7) to win. Race 10 PIERRE WHITBY (5) displayed something like his best when running on from near the rear to win at Narrogin at his last start. This doesn’t look much harder and he looks the one to beat. ROBB STARK (11) had no luck when extending his losing sequence to 18 at his last start but should be right in the finish here. JILLIBY JAKE (4) has been placed at three of his past four starts and will give them something to catch if he finds the top. TRADIE (10) ran on well to finish 3rd at his return and will be thereabouts if he has any luck from this draw. Tips: 5 11 4 10 Suggested Bet: PIERRE WHITBY (5) to win. Market Market
