Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on October 31, 2019November 4, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ZIP ZAM ZOOM is a maiden but has a fair bit of ability. This is not a deep race and from his last outing he gets a 4kg weight swing on Validation, draws a gate and has Pike jump aboard for good measure. He can break his maiden in this 60+. ZEPHYR QUEEN returns to the races and was likely tipped out at Belmont to be set for this race series. She leads and always gives a sight. BEE QUICK put the writing on the wall last time out with a big finish. SIR MAMBO is in career best form and while he was pigeonholed as a ‘non-winner’ he has been ultra consistent since his debut. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – ZIP ZAM ZOOM WIN Race 2 HERE COMES LENNI looks the logical winner on paper. This is set up to be a walk in front and then a sit & sprint from the 800. He has the best point to point turn of acceleration and should continue on his way through the grades. DARK PROSPECT has been racing well all campaign without winning. He looks the big danger. PUSH TO PASS was a better run last time out and could amble forward to sit in the breeze. DARK MUSKET is unlikely to be suited by the slow tempo but has returned to racing well. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – HERE COMES LENNI WIN Race 3 DRINKWHATYOULIKE has been a work in progress ever since joining the stables of Simon Miller. Three starts ago she over raced very badly when sitting outside of Mia Dolce. This race looks identical on paper speed wise but since then she has had ear muffs added and looks far more settled. She can breeze and hold them off. GOTTA MOTOR is a maiden but has shown above average ability at the races and at the trials. MIA DOLCE is more than capable of leading from start to finish. Tough little filly who was strong against the older horses last start. PRETTY STYLE should box seat. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – DRINKWHATYOULIKE WIN Race 4 BARON BOSTOCK was awesome two starts ago when returning from a freshen up. He was one of the best replay runs of the last few months and duly saluted for loyal followers last time out. He maps to enjoy the run of the race one out and one back and this is another nice assignment for him. MY LAINA has won second up at her last two preparations. Gets back but rattles late. KING’S AUTHORITY is knocking on the door for another win and Harry Grace’s 3kg claim looks like becoming popular with punters. MANKIND trialed very well. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – BARON BOSTOCK WIN Race 5 CARPCAPO was big in defeat first-up when finding lots and lots of traffic at various stages in the home straight. Jason Brown has the option to cross them from the outside gate and from there he should give a big sight to eachway punters. MOLTEN drops out of a Listed Crawford Stakes when finishing only 3.5L off Fabergino, Stageman and Flirtini. Excellent placement into a 66+. INFLATION raced well fresh and again draws to box seat in the run. FATHER KNICK races best fresh and that’s how the stable keep him here. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – CAROCAPO EACHWAY Race 6 MINUS LOOKS has hit a purple patch of form winning both his starts so far this campaign. There is no speed in this race and he has utilized tactical speed to great effect in the past. McGruddy may elect to roll forward and sit over a moderate tempo and he should be in the finish again. PLATOON was given an absolute 12/10 by Steve Parnham last start. If he gets a tow into the race he will be hard to hold out. IN LOVE WITH PARIS is racing well but finding it hard to win. ROYAL COMMAND will be set a task from last in a slowly run race. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – MINUS LOOKS EACHWAY Race 7 REGAL POWER has trialed like a proper animal at Lark Hill and tongues will be wagging to see him back at the races. Could be a genuine summer carnival contender and this looks a nice starting platform. Maps to sit one out and two back and comes with a big run late. LORDHELPMERUN was a big run in the Northerly first-up and from the gate can position far closer in the run. Big improver. SAMIZDAT was eye catching in the same race but he looks likely to be either three deep or last. WRINKLY ran well fresh. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – REGAL POWER WIN Race 8 FLIRTINI was run off her feet early in the Crawford by Fabergino and is likely to be niggled at early to hold a position in the run again here behind speedy mare Misty Metal. She finished off powerfully and maps to get an identical run to be in the finish again. VALOUR ROAD might just end up three deep with cover if Battle Hero gets planted outside of Copper Fury and that will bring him right into the race. MISTY METAL is jumps and runs and takes a stack of running down. STAGEMAN flying but big ask to win from last. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – FLIRTINI EACHWAY Race 9 LADY SASS looked all at sea last start when ridden for speed on a day which was dominated by leaders. From the draw she will settle toward the rear and her previous two runs were excellent. If she can get a tow into the race she can let down over the top. ARNIE’S BOY sits outside of likely leader Proxy and holds form well. GO CRYING backs up off 7 days and has been finishing hard. BROTHER’S KEEPER ran well fresh and improves with fitness. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – LADY SASS WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 3,4,5,6 4,7,8 4,7,9 3,4,5 Market Market
