The Scout: EPL Matchday 10 Posted on October 24, 2019 | Posted by The Scout Southampton vs Leicester 26th October, 3am WST 17th placed Southampton moved clear of the relegation zone with last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton, snapping a run of three straight losses. Leicester (3rd) are no longer under the radar. The 2015/16 EPL champions have conceded just eight goals for the year while scoring 16 of their own. Southampton haven’t won a match in four Premier League fixtures, conceding 10 goals during in this stretch. While a home match can often offer solace, the Saints have been particularly awful at St Mary’s Stadium, taking just one point from four matches there this season. Brendan Rodgers has had a huge huge impact on this Leicester squad and has them looking like a legitimate top four side. Jamie Vardy in particular is thriving with six goals from his nine games. Southampton will need to find form at home if they’re to completely remove themselves from relegation danger this season. However, with the way both teams here are playing, I don’t think this will be the week. Suggested Bet: Match Result Leicester @ $2.30* Manchester City vs Aston Villa 26th October, 7.30pm WST Manchester City (2nd) remain six points behind Liverpool, with two losses to date giving them a far from ideal start to their title defense. Aston Villa have looked every bit a Premier League side, sitting 12th on the table with a record of 3W-2D-4L. The Villains are in hot form winning back to back games including a 5-1 thrashing of Norwich. Manchester City are never short on goals, boasting a League-high 29 to this point of the season. In the thick of things have been Sergio Aguero (8) and Raheem Sterling (6) while Kevin De Bruyne leads the League with eight assists – four more than any other player! As mentioned, Villa have had no issue finding the back of the net themselves, with 15 for the season, including 11 in their last four matches. Pep Guardiola has some (relatively minor) defensive concerns. City are conceding a goal per game, with just four clean sheets for the season. Centre backs Nicolás Otamendi and John Stones are both under injury clouds which only makes matters worse. The Villains haven’t beaten Manchester City since 2013 and it’s hard to see this streak ending here, although I think they can sneak one past this City defense. Suggested Bet: Manchester City Win & Both Teams To Score @ $2.27* Watford vs Bournemouth 26th October, 10pm WST Watford came within minutes of winning their first Premier League game of the season last weekend, but remain dead last on just four points. 10th placed Bournemouth were horrendous last matchday, with a lacklustre 0-0 draw at home against Norwich the first time they’ve gone goalless all season. Callum Wilson has been dynamite for Bournemouth this season with five goals from nine appearances. The English striker has had just 11 shots on target, making the most of the opportunities he gets. Watford have been the worst defense in the League with 21 goals conceded. I’m expecting a high tempo match with plenty of chances for (in particular) Bournemouth. Wilson has been starting as the highest attacking player and I think he’s a great chance to score here. Suggested Bet: Anytime Goalscorer Callum Wilson @ $2.60* *Odds correct as at 2.45pm, 24th October 2019. Market Market
