Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on August 8, 2019August 12, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DIAMOND TRADE has had four runs in her debut preparation and all of them have been impressive. She is a natural back marker who will need some luck in running but the step to 1400 looks ideal and she can sprint over them. TOO FAT TOO SLOW has shades applied and there is not a lot of speed outside of Smug Noxious. Was a grinding effort on debut. AMILLIONITE has run second beaten in the last stride at her last four. The form is yet to hold up from any of those races. CHOSEN ART can settle much closer drawn a gate. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND TRADE WIN Race 2 ZEPHYR QUEEN is in very good form and should give a mighty showing here. Azzopardi should bounce straight to the front and her last start effort behind The Fugazi was excellent when you break down the sections. Race was run over 3 lengths faster than average and she fought on bravely. TRAMONTANE bolted in a Lark Hill trial and then made a mess of a moderate maiden field. Big difference here is he is unlikely to find the front. FAIRTRUSIVE was a big run fresh in a hot form race. MY LADY FAIR can box seat in behind the speed. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – ZEPHYR QUEEN WIN Race 3 MOAMA ROSE has shown above average ability at trials. The 1000m is likely to be on the sharp side for her but if she can get out safely and hold leader’s back and not get run off her feet early she should be in the finish. AMARILLO ROSE was a very good 2 year old. Tuned up with two solid trial outings. MASSIMO really hit top gear late in a fast run trial at Lark Hill and impressed. AT WAR finished off strongly but looks like getting off them. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – MOAMA ROSE EACHWAY Race 4 SHINJU gets his best chance yet since arriving in Western Australia. First-up no trial was a nice run when knocked around into the corner and then lead them up when run down by subsequent winner Essential Spice. Can settle just behind a genuine tempo and gets his chance. THE NINTH HOUR obviously is a hard horse to keep sound but his ability is undeniable. He’ll be finishing hard. DENIM PACK went well last week in a high rating race. Drops in grade and gets in on the minimum after the claim. IMPERIAL VENUS is closing in on another win. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – SHINJU WIN Race 5 MOSCHARD vs LITTLE FISH could be a little tease into this year’s edition of the Hannans Handicap. MOSCHARD is flying but will need luck from the inside. LITTLE FISH is first-up, no trial and drawn deep. After a bit of head scratching siding with LITTLE FISH who is likely to roll forward and sit in the breeze. From there should be hard to beat. MOSCHARD will need an ounce of luck or some Mitch Pateman brilliance but is best saved for one short, sharp run at them. FAIRVIEW finds this more suitable than her first two runs. SPILLINOVA is the X-Factor runner. Went back from a wide alley first-up last campaign. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – LITTLE FISH WIN Race 6 MR ALBY will hold a significant head start in running over his main rivals and is in career best form. He looks a live hope of heading to Kalgoorlie for the round and from the gate will be given every possible. Leads or box seats and has to go very close again. ZARATITE will be sweating on a scratching. If he gets a start he’ll jump favourite and be charging at them down the center. HERE COMES LENNI is going through the grades quickly and backs up off 7 days in customary JT Warwick style. SKINNEN TINS has always looked like she would stay. Numbers: 5 – 15 – 13 – 10 Suggested Bet – MR ALBY WIN Race 7 ABDICATOR was solid first-up at 1200m in the rain when battling on well into second after sitting outside the speedy belter. That was a high pressure, high tempo race and here he steps to a mile and Chloe Azzopardi should get a picnic in front. He takes running down. TOUCH OF SILVER is holding his consistent form and looks like winning another this preparation. DOUBLE DIGIT was astutely found by punters nationwide and was plunged last start when winning with his eyes closed. Goes up sharply in weight and draws awkwardly. BATTLE TORQUE is well weighted after the claim. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 12 Suggested Bet – ABDICATOR WIN Race 8 THE FUGAZI vs SNOWCHINO looks another match race on paper. Both are coming off ~4 length Personal Best figures and both step to a mile. THE FUGAZI has an electrifying turn of foot and provided he can get across to a midfield position early he’ll take serious holding out. SNOWCHINO lead them up and left them standing at the 600 last start. Interesting to see if Whiting takes a sit with three other speed runners engaged. REVEILLE caught the eye first-up but is her own worst enemy with her racing pattern. PATROCITY would be a blowout hope if he gains a start. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 1 – 17 Suggested Bet – THE FUGAZI WIN Race 9 DISTANT TRILOGY reunites with Paul Harvey and has shown speed historically to take advantage of the inside draw. Should sit leader’s back or three back the fence and if he can reproduce any of his runs around Fred Dag he goes close. FALSE STATETMENT is going through the grades and keeps improving with racing. From the awkward draw expecting Knuckey to slide across to the breeze. ON THE TURPS was enormous last start. Has to be a live hope off that. BEAUTY KANAS caught the eye at his WA debut when held up at crucial stages. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 14 – 10 Suggested Bet – DISTANT TRILOGY EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 5,13,15 2,3,4,7 5,6 3,7,10,12,14 Market Market
