Scott Embry’s Sunday Northam Preview Posted on October 26, 2018October 26, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 LIPSTICK FLICKERS has trailed up extremely well for her return. Was huge on debut sitting three deep the trip and looked brave. Winnable race but also a deep race. HOTHAM VALLEY should sit in the box seat and was only run down late by the smart True Attraction at his most recent. INFLATION was given every chance by Parnham on debut in front when walking them and sprinting home. They gapped the field. SON OF BACCHUS may have been in inferior ground when making his run up against the cutaway. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – LIPSTICK FLICKERS WIN Race 2 TEXAS MOON has had a lot of chances over a lengthy maiden career, however, so have many of his main rivals. Comes from a strong form race and drops in grade, can lead or sit just behind. GESSATO was given every chance at York when run down but he has run second at five of his six outings and will break through soon. HYPERSPACE was far from disgraced by gun maiden Bams on Fire at trials and will get the run of the race. JUNGLE BUNCH will get a long way off them and rattle late. There is a race in him soon. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – TEXAS MOON WIN Race 3 SOUNDS OF THEN will not get a better chance than this to break her maiden. Sat off the track on debut in what is going to prove a hot maiden field. This is easier and she improves with the experience. CARRANYA LASS looked good at trials and was big on debut up the tricky 1000m straight last prep. Follow her. OVER THERE improved lengths when the shades went on, gets back and comes hard. OLIVIA KNOWS will lead or sit right over the speed and is improving. Numbers: 12 – 6 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – SOUNDS OF THEN WIN Race 4 IMORTALITE was beaten 12L out of sight last start but it was an uncharacteristic run after being wide the trip. Small field suits, draws a gate for the first time this preparation and was going well before that. SHORT BLACK ROMAN deserves to break through, ultra consistent and always in the mix. ALMASTER will not see an easier assignment, jury is out but if he has ability he has to go close. PLAY HARD leads them up with no weight and is the one to gun down. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – IMORTALITE WIN Race 5 MEKONG DEN is still a maiden after 14 starts but has always shown that she has the ability to win one. The mile looks her sort of trip and she seems to go well for Kate Witten. Always risky backing a long term maiden to win but this looks winnable. VICE MASTER came from a long way off them with a big run off the back of a slow tempo first-up. Looks like it’ll stay all day. DIFFUSION could be the sharp improver at odds if he can jump and take up a position from the gate. ENCENDIO steps straight up in trip and was fair at his race debut. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – MEKONG DEN WIN Race 6 CHESTEN FLYER vs FINALLY FRENCH looks a cracking match race on paper. They have met before and FINALLY FRENCH was the victor in that clash and gets another 1.5kg weight swing in his favour. FINALLY FRENCH should arguably be undefeated with more luck. He has run into some cracking types and should go very close first-up. CHESTEN FLYER is fit and has the luxurious claim of an inform Tayla Stone. CITICHANT can give cheek if they allow her to run it hard and fast. LADY LE JEAN back in grade suits but is probably going a shade below her best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – FINALLY FRENCH WIN Race 7 MISSILE LAUNCH looked a little uncomfortable when racing behind horses. Draws a gate to wind up three deep into the race which seems to be his preferred racing pattern. Step up in trip also suits. ACHERNAR STAR lobs into another race where he should get into the best position and track Gloryland into the race and be the first past him. PUSHIN’ SHAPES meets Achernar Star on level weights o to the Bunbury race but importantly reunites with his #1 rider. ROYAL STAR was average first-up, she’s better than that. Shades back on helps. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – MISSILE LAUNCH WIN Race 8 NEUROLOGICAL is going for three on the bounce and this race is no harder, arguably even easier than his last start where he was able to fend off the challenge of smart 3 year old filly Cristal Dane. DAINTY PAT should improve with a senior rider on and a gate where she can be ridden positively. JESTER FERRARI has hit a purple patch of form and is drawn soft. BUCKTORIO could be the blowout with the right run. Loved his first-up run. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – NEUROLOGICAL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,5,6,8,9 1,2 1,3,9 1 Market Market
