No Ascot for Speedy Mare Posted on August 23, 2018 | Posted by Julio Santarelli Trainer Tiarnna Robertson suffered a major blow with her quality mare Fabergino ruled out of the Ascot carnival. “She is out for three months after surgery to repair a chipped bone in her knee,” Robertson. “It’s not a positive result and she won’t be running in the Winterbottom Stakes. “She’s always had an issue with her knee so hopefully this clears it up now. “She will come back and set for a return to racing around January in the New Year. “I’m confident she will come back and bigger and stronger horse.” Fabergino is a first crop daughter of Encosta De Lago sire Maschino and raced by a partnership that includes her breeder Jim Anderson. He raced Maschino and bought her dam Miss Razyana for $36,000 at the 2013 Magic Millions National sale. Fabergino has won four of her five starts since she made her exciting debut at Ascot on April 29 2017. She last raced at Belmont in June and ran third to Ambiente, beaten two lengths, her first career defeat.
