Deane Lester’s Moonee Valley Best Bets Posted on June 1, 2018 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Best Bets RACE 1 NO.1 ANJANA Unbeaten filly ANJANA should continue on her winning way when she runs in the Dominant Homecare Products Handicap (1200m). The daughter of Sepoy endured a tough run but still won on debut over 1000 metres at Wangaratta on May 7 before recording a dominant win over 1200 metres at Ballarat on May 23. It was the performance of a coming city winner and this looks the ideal race to facilitate that level of performance. She is drawn for a great run and star rider Damian Lane takes the mount ; should be winning again. SuperPick - Race 1 No. 1 Anjana - Win Boost RACE 2 NO.1 WILLIAM THOMAS WILLIAM THOMAS is building a good record for the John Price stable and looks the one to beat again when he contests the Bernadette Turner Handicap (1200m). The three year old has won three of his five starts to date including a brilliant win over 1200 metres at Caulfield on April 28. He has been kept fresh for this race and looks another strong ride for Damian Lane. He is well drawn in barrier three and looks to have a tactical advantage on his main rivals in this race, which includes STREET SHEIK, BEL SONIC and SPIRIT OF AQUADA. It’s a strong race but WILLIAM THOMAS should prove hard to beat. RACE 5 NO.4 JAMAICAN RAIN Lightly raced mare JAMAICAN RAIN has returned to racing in stunning form and looks the testing material again when she runs in the Goodlife Essendon Handicap (1500m). The five year old has been very patiently handled by trainer Richard Laming and she has built the impressive record of four wins from 9 starts to date. She resumed from a spell with a dynamic win on heavy ground over 1200 metres at Cranbourne on May 11. She will appreciate stepping up in distance, appears drawn for a good run and looks better than her rivals. A win in this race may see her bound for the Brisbane carnival and JAMAICAN RAIN is well positioned to record her fifth career win. Bet Now
