Big Bash – Sydney Thunder v Melbourne Renegades Preview Posted on January 24, 2018 | Posted by David Shortte Tonight the Sydney Thunder play host to the Melbourne Renegades at Manuka Oval in Canberra in a clash which is crucial to the chances of both sides qualifying for the Big Bash finals. They both have 4 wins for the season to date but the Renegades have an extra game to play which leaves them with a distinct advantage. Sydney will rely heavily on English Import James Vince as well as Shane Watson to post a hefty portion of their total. While the Renegades bat deep they would be hopeful that either Ludeman or Cooper can be the men they can bat around. Watch out for the TABtouch special right throughout the course of the Big Bash whereby if you place a Match Result bet and your team wins, and 13 or more sixes are scored in the match, you will receive a 50% bonus on your winnings up to $50 (on-line account bets only). TABtouch match result betting sees the Sydney Thunder as the outsiders at $2.08 while the Renegades are the $1.75 favourites. This does shape as an interesting clash but I will lean towards the Melbourne Renegades due to their added depth. The likes of Pollard and Bravo can score heavily off a platform and if it sets up that way expect the West Indian combination may prove the difference. Verdict : Happy to back the Renegades at $1.75.
