Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 15, 2017 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: GT INSURANCE 3YO MS PACE COTT BEACH (5) has won eight of her 13 race starts and has proven herself in top company. She disappointed when beaten at her last start but was forced to run a quick lead time on that occasion and can bounce back. MISTAHMISTAH (2) won his only start in NZ and was a recent Byford trial winner so watch the market. MISS SANGRIAL (6) has won seven of her 15 starts and was a solid winner first up but is drawn awkwardly. MISTERSANDMAN (7) was a good winner over COTT BEACH (5) last start and must be considered again. Tips: 5 2 6 7 Suggested Bet: COTT BEACH (5) to win. Race 2: GANNON`S RACING COLOURS MS PACE VAMPIRO (3) won six on end before a shock defeat at Bunbury. He performed very well when 5th in the Golden Nugget behind Ultimate Machete and will be hard to beat from this draw. RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (5) is another 4YO who had been racing the top company before leading throughout to win at Pinjarra on Monday and looks the main danger. TANAKA EAGLE (8) drops back from Interdominion class and may look to cross at the start. KHUN RATHA (7) was placed at big odds last week and could be in the money again. Tips: 3 5 8 7 Suggested Bet: VAMPIRO (3) to win. Race 3: COWDEN INSURANCE BROKERS MS PACE SOHO LEVIATHAN (5) has a good record in Victoria and was placed recently behind Stroke Of Luck. He has very good gate speed and should give a great sight at his first WA start. IMA ROCKNROLL LEGEND (9) was a bit inconsistent last campaign but showed plenty of ability and is capable of overcoming the wide draw. MESSI (6) wasn’t at his top last campaign but has had a short break and is the other class runner. TERRAFORCE (1) has won two on end in weaker company and can be placed from this draw. Tips: 5 9 6 1 Suggested Bet: SOHO LEVIATHAN (5) to win. Race 4: YES LOANS CONDITIONED HANDICAP SS PACE ONEONTHEWOOD (1) bounced back to his best form with a solid win at Northam. He is the only horse on the front mark and will give a great sight if he steps safely. TOMMY BE GOOD (11) is the class runner and has beaten similar fields from back marks before. He hasn’t started for five weeks but is the one to beat if near his top. ASSASSINATOR (4) is a consistent standing start performer who will relish the return to the tapes after solid efforts in mobile events. MAXIMUM DEMAND (2) is racing well and should enjoy a lovely run. Tips: 1 11 4 2 Suggested Bet: ONEONTHEWOOD (1) to win. Race 5: DIRECT TRADES SUPPLY XMAS GIFT QUALIFYING HEAT 1 HERRICK ROOSEVELT (4) has won nine of his 16 race starts and performed well in the 4YO Classics with a 4th and 3rd behind Ultimate Machete when he didn’t have much luck in either. He drops considerably in class for this assignment and is clearly the one to beat. WRAPPERS DELIGHT (2) was an excellent 3rd here last week and has the barrier advantage over the favourite. ABRAXAS BLUES (10) couldn’t get into the race last week but is better suited from this barrier. EL MACHINE (1) is drawn to be a good place chance. Tips: 4 2 10 1 Suggested Bet: HERRICK ROOSEVELT (4) to win. Race 6: WIN BOOST ON TABTOUCH XMAS GIFT QUALIFYING HEAT ITZ BETTOR TO WIN (7) has only won one of his five WA starts but has performed well, including a strong 2nd at his last start. His main rivals have drawn the back line and he can use that to advantage. ZACH MAGUIRE (12) was a good winner here before running on strongly to finish 2nd and will be charging home again. IM ROCKARIA (10) had no luck in the 4YO Classics and will be right in this with any luck. SOKYS BIGBULLET (3) could be a big improver if he can find the front from his nice draw. Tips: 7 12 10 3 Suggested Bet: ITZ BETTOR TO WIN (7) each way. Race 7: LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS FUNCTIONS AVAILABLE AT GLOUCESTER PARK MS PACE OHOKA PUNTER (7) hit form late in the Inters series and did a power of work when 2nd in the Consolation. His time was 27m quicker than Lazarus for the same distance and must be respected here. VULTAN TIN (6) was a close up 4th in the Inters Final and will appreciate the drop in class. IDEAL ALICE (1) was placed in the first two Mares’ Classics before winning the big one last week and is a huge chance from the pole. MOTU PREMIER (8) didn’t have much luck during the Inters series and has had a week to freshen up. Tips: 7 6 1 8 Suggested Bet: OHOKA PUNTER (7) each way. Race 8: $7 PINTS EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT AT JP`S SPORTSBAR XMAS GIFT QUALIFYING HEAT 3 ROCK DIAMONDS (3) performed well in the 4YO Classics, with one win and a placing before finishing down the track after facing the breeze in the Golden Nugget. He is well drawn here and looks the one to beat. LETS CHASE THE DREAM (4) drops in class after racing in the Inters and is the obvious danger. THE TRILOGY (1) is ultra-consistent and has options from the pole. SOHO CHELSEA (5) was racing extremely well before a short let-up but is awkwardly drawn. Tips: 3 4 1 5 Suggested Bet: ROCK DIAMONDS (3) to win. SuperPick - Race 8 no. 3 ROCK DIAMONDS - Money Back RACE 9: FREE ENTRY WITH YOUR ASHES CRICKET TICKET THE COULSON MARES QUALIFYING HEAT 2 MS PACE MACZAFFAIR (8) performed well in the 4YO Classics and used her gate speed when 2nd to Ultimate Machete in the Golden Nugget. She is drawn poorly here but looks to have a class edge on her rivals. DIOR MIA MORE (4) has won five of her 10 starts despite some tractability issues and was impressive in winning in 1.55.7 here last week. SARAH GOODY (5) has been a bit disappointing this time in but is the other class runner. MARY CATHERINE (7) won two on end before enduring a tough run last week and can bounce back. Tips: 8 4 5 7 SUGGESTED BET: MACZAFFAIR (8) to win. RACE 10: PACING CUP FIREWORKS NIGHT FRIDAY JANUARY 19 MARES MS PACE MADAME MEILLAND (2) hasn’t missed a place in her six runs this campaign and gets her chance to notch another victory here. She was held up until late when 2nd to Eden Franco before overcoming a wide draw to finish 3rd to Dior Mia More last week and will appreciate the better draw. SHEEZ EDGY (1) ran on well to finish 4th last start and looks dangerous from the pole. DAME PUISSANT (4) was a good last start winner in easier company and should be thereabouts. GIULIANA RANCIC (9) is drawn wide first up but has a nice turn of foot. Tips: 2 1 4 9 SUGGESTED BET: MADAME MEILLAND (2) to win. Bet Now
