Greg’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on December 14, 2016December 15, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 THUNDER BOOM started at big odds on debut however she ran a top second in what looks a strong form race. If she repeats that effort she goes close. PICK UP LINE can lead and control. FAST AS THE WIND makes her debut and Pike rides. GENERAL HUSSON is knocking on the door. Numbers – 11 – 14 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – THUNDER BOOM AND PICK UP LINE RACE 2 SASSO’S CIRCUS looks very well placed. He drops in grade, haw drawn gate 1 and Pike rides who is three form four on him. BLITZEM SOMEDAY has had little luck at his last start start. Jarrad Noske going on is a big plus. HELM’S GATE is hard to catch but is another who drops in class. MAKATIES KEEPER has been flying at Bunbury. Numbers – 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – SASSO’S CIRCUS AND BLITZEM SOMEDAY SuperPick - Race 2 No. 1 SASSO’S CIRCUS - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 3 Very tricky race. MEDOM has trialled well and the 1400m suits fresh. RUSSIAN RIVER was a good winner two back and then had to do plenty of work on the speed at his next start. BACHELOR’S PROSPECT hasn’t won a race for three years but he does look ready on the back of a strong trial effort. FLYINH IMAGE has trialled well for his return. Numbers – 5 – 2 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – MEDOM WIN RACE 4 CLOAK AND DAGGER finished strongly first-up. If he can settle closer he gets his chance. MENIN ROAD can lead from gate and is the one to run down. MR MURT was solid fresh. CAROCAPO has trialled well on numerous occasions. Numbers – 3 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – CLOAK AND DAGGER WIN RACE 5 RIVER DANCE gets his chance for an overdue win. He was knocked off by an inform horse last start. HALLDORA drops sharply in grade. She can lead and control and will only carry 52kg. MIGHTY BLONDE is a tough and consistent mare. STAR GLITTER is a serial placegetter. Numbers – 8 – 11 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – RIVER DANCE AND HALLDORA RACE 6 FAMOUS SOMEDAY resumes with the benefit of a solid trial. The 1400m fresh suits and he has drawn to get a soft run. FORTY FOUR RED can lead or breeze from gate 1. BATTLE TORQUE choked down in the Provincial Final. Pike retains the mount. BJORN TO LOVE just missed last week. Numbers – 2 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – FAMOUS SOMEDAY AND FORTY FOUR RED. RACE 7 TOP RATED was a strong winner at Northam. The 1800m should suit. PRINCESS JASMAN comes off five week freshen-up. She raced flat at her last start but prior to that produced consecutive wins at this track and distance. BIG RED COSTA drops in class and trip. DANGEROUS GAME should be ready at his third run back from a spell and Pike rides. Numbers – 4 – 6 – 1 -5 Suggested Bet – TOP RATED WIN RACE 8 CAPRICORN DANCER looks a class above these. She parks just behind the speed and will be very hard to hold out. ACE’S WISH comes off an impressive Mt Barker win. TIME STREAM finally broke through for a maiden win at Northam. CRINKLECUT looks a big grinding type who can fill a hole. Numbers – 4 – 9 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – CAPRICORN DANCER WIN QUADDIE Race 5 – 8, 11 Race 6 – 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 Race 7 – 1, 4, 5, 6, 11 Race 8 – 4, 8, 9 Bet Now
