Deane’s Ballarat Preview Posted on November 18, 2016November 21, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 1 NO. 2 CHEEKY BABE CHEEKY BABE has been racing well since joining the Darren Weir stable and looks the one to beat again when she contests the Mares Benchmark 78 Handicap (1200m). After finishing second at Caulfield and Warrnambool, the daughter of Bel Esprit recorded a solid win over 1200 metres at Moonee Valley on October 28. She is drawn to enjoy a good run again and should prove hard to beat. RACE 3 NO.3 URBAN RULER URBAN RULER has been freshened since a good win at Morphettville in September and looks a strong winning chance when he runs in the Vobis Gild Eureka Concrete (1400m). The Greg Eurell trained gelding has won three of his five runs to date and appears to have more upside than his rivals. In-form rider Luke Nolen takes the mount and URBAN RULER only needs to hold his form and he’s well placed in this grade. RACE 7 NO.6 SPEEDEOR SPEEDEOR can continue on his winning way when he contests the 3+4YO Magic Millions Classic (1100m). The three year old has won both of his runs this campaign, firstly over 1000 metres at Cranbourne on October 14 before a comprehensive win over 1000 metres at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day. This is a stronger race but he is improving with every run and can make this leap into this grade and win again. He will make his own luck and represents one of the best bets of the day.
