York Thoroughbreds Preview – 7 March
Greg Hooper’s Tips
RACE 1 NO. 5 CROSSWALK
CROSSWALK resumed from a spell with a luckless effort last Sundayy at Pinjarra when she got strung up behind some tiring runners on straightening. She did a good to finish under 2 lengths from the winner. From gate 5 Shaun McGruddy should have the mare camped in the one out line and if she is ever going to shake her maiden tag it should be in this.
RACE 6 NO. 5 PENTHOUSE PET
PENTHOUSE PET put in an encouraging first-up run in town where she settled at the rear in a slowly run race and worked home solidly to finish just behind the placings. This looks a much easier assignment and the blinkers going on should sharpen her up.
RACE 8 NO. 10 DARK LOVE
DARK LOVE looks very well in this final race of the day. First-up she was solid in Saturday grade where she finished midfield. This is a big drop in class and Pike retains the ride. She should be too classy for these.
