Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on October 27, 2023October 27, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 FASUTO lost the rider when he appeared to be travelling well here last start and looked to move sweetly in a subsequent jumpout. TAUNTING won well second up in Adelaide and has handled Moonee Valley previously. UNFLINCHING has been back to the jumpouts since his first up run and will strip fitter. ASHFORD STREET is going well enough in stronger races and will appreciate the drop in grade. Selections: 4,3,2,1 Suggested Bet: Fasuto each way Race 2 Plenty to learn. If BLUE STRATUM gains a start he looks a natural runner and hard to beat. Stablemates BOLD BASTILLE and BLUE ALLURE both jumped out well on the same morning at Flemington with Bold Bastille recording quicker time. IMMORTAL STAR jumped out nicely alongside Bold Bastille but has the wide draw to contend with. CHOSEN LEGEND and HAYASUGI have trialled well together. Selections: 15,8,7,13 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 3 WISHLOR LASS is building an impressive record and displayed great fight to kick back and win last start. She may settle just behind the speed here and looks the one to beat. THALASSOPHILE closed off strongly in a key form race in Sydney and has run well here previously. SOUL CHOICE comes through that race, she may be looking for a little further but will make her own luck and give a sight. OSMOSE was too far back in that and can settle closer. Selections: 2,1,5,3 Suggested Bet: Wishlor Lass to win Race 4 INHIBITIONS gets a round Moonee Valley well and may be suited coming back to 1200m. RIGHT TO PARTY has jumped out well since pulling up with cardiac arrhythmia last start and will be strong late. SHEVA bounced back to her best from last time and has upside. CIGAR FLICK is another that will be strong late and met some interference down the straight at her latest run. Selections: 3,8,4,5 Suggested Bet: Inhibitions to win Same Race Multi: Inhibitions (Top 2) + Right To Party (Top 3) Race 5 TUVALU has been kept fresh and jumped out well since his brave effort at Group 1 last start. He looks to control the speed and will be hard to get past. ANTINO’s form is impossible to fault. He’ll be at his peak now and was only beaten by a bob of the head in the Toorak. PROWESS is a high class mare, she’ll strip fitter second up and will be suited stepping up to 1600m. BANKERS CHOICE defied his odds in the Toorak and will be charging late. Selections: 1,4,6,2 Suggested Bet: Tuvalu to win Race 6 CARINA QUEEN hit the line strongly to win second up over 1400m and should cope with the rise to 1600m. SKYBIRD has impressed in easier races and is shaping as through she’ll have no problem stepping up to this trip. CAPTAIN AMELIA ran as well as she could from back in the field at Group 1 level last time. BROADCASTER is still a maiden but endured a tough run at stakes level last start and gives the impression she’ll appreciate 1600m. Selections: 3,8,4,10 Suggested Bet: Carina Queen each way Race 7 VERDAD gives the impression he will cope with the step up to 2040m and has measured up well since his dominant maiden victory. AIR ASSUALT is building a good record in South Australia and appeared to relish the step up to 1800m last time. SUNSOURCE and ESSKAY have some claims. Selections: 3,2,4,1 Suggested Bet: Verdad to win Race 8 Impossible to go past IMPERATRIZ who should relish stepping up to 1200m.. Her overall record is outstanding and she’s broken track records here at 1000m at her last two starts. BEUNOS NOCHES is unknown at Moonee Valley but is a competitive sprinter at the elite level. UNCOMMON JAMES got bit keen with the blinkers on last start, they come straight off but he was no match for Imperatriz at his previous start. THE INFERNO will be charging late. I AM ME takes a rise in grade but will make her own luck. Selections: 6,2,3,1 Suggested Bet: Imperatriz to win Race 9 ROMANTIC WARRIOR was below market expectations in the Turnbull Stakes but still ran creditably and will no doubt strip fitter. His work on Monday morning at Moonee Valley leading into this race was of the highest standard and a strong indication that he has trained on well since his first Australian run. MILITARIZE had a few things against him in the Caulfield Guineas and has a strong profile for a 3yo heading into a Cox Plate. ALLIGATOR BLOOD ticked the 2000m box with a strong win in a solidly run Might and Power Stakes. MR BRIGHTSIDE maps well and can bounce back from a slightly below par run last time. Selections: 1,11,4,3 Suggested Bet: Romantic Warrior to win Race 10 ARCHO NACHO got involved in a bumping duel last start, which couldn’t have helped his chances. His previous win was good and he should get a nice run behind the speed. MAHARBA improved nicely to win second up and Brave Mead has enhanced that form. SCHWARZ won his maiden in impressive style at Gosford and look promising. Selections: 3,2,10,6 Suggested Bet: Archo Nacho each way Market Market
