Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on May 3, 2024May 3, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 SIGNOR BILL relished the step up to 1400m to break his maiden last time and there’s depth to his previous form. BRIGHELLA gives the impression he will be suited stepping up to this trip. BRING FORTH comes through the same race as Brighella and also looks suited stepping up to 1400m. SNACK BAR led up in that race, he gets blinkers off and will give a sight. Selections: 3,2,5,1 Suggested Bet: Signor Bill to win Race 2 MAWALLOCK resumes from lengthy spell but is unbeaten first up and has jumped out in great style. WAKANJEJA has trialled impressively, she’s building a handy record and will be charging late. LADY DI DI had little luck at Mornington and will appreciate the extra 100m. EXCESS will push forward from the wide draw and could prove hard to get past. ELECTRIC BELLE is another that will be charging late. Selections: 1,8,6,10 Suggested Bet: Mawallock to win Race 3 CADMUS had trialled nicely leading into his encouraging first up run, he looks suited by the extra 100m and the claim. HOOAH HAVANA has jumped out strongly between runs and giving the impression he’ll be suited at this trip. MIRZANN has trialled quite well to have his first Australian run and what seems a suitable distance. MATHEW has a good first up record, he’s resumes following a lengthy but has been trialling/jumping out in good style. Selections: 1,7,4,6 Suggested Bet: Cadmus each way Race 4 HOLY RACKET is having a great prep and has been kept up to the mark with a couple of jumpouts between runs. ENNA’S DREAM has some upside and has been given a couple of quiet jumpouts to resume. SHESALLSHENANIGANS will be close to her top third up and looks well placed after the small claim. EXTEMELY ROWDY performed below expectations first up, she gets a tongue tie on and is capable of dramatic improvement. Selections: 1,9,2,8 Suggested Bet: Holy Racket each way Race 5 Should be good speed here over 1000m. TWIN PEFECTION is back in form, he’s been freshened and seems to relish the 1000-1100m distance range. LA DANSEUSE ROUGE has jumped out well and strikes a suitable race to maintain her good first up record. SCISSOR STEP had excuses last time and has trialled nicely between runs. ASHFORD STREET has jumped out in good style for the new stable and doesn’t look badly treated after the claim. PHILOSOPHER will be part of the speed and give a sight. VIVIANNE has jumped out well with MIDWEST and both have claims. Selections: 4,8,9,1 Suggested Bet: Twin Perfection each way Race 6 ANGLAND looks highly promising. He maps well and was able to grind out a tough win off a wide run last time. SOME PEOPLE CALLME is racing well and drops in grade from the Bendigo Guineas. GRINZINGER BELLE has been freshened, she also drops in grade and will make her own luck. WOLFY is another that comes through the Bendigo Guineas and may settle closer from a low draw. Selections: 7,8,2,3 Suggested Bet: Angland to win Race 7 EL SOLEADO is having a terrific prep and looked in great shape winning a jumpout between runs. HERE TO SHOCK won the Group 3 Victoria Hcp here last time, he’s trialled well between runs and doesn’t look badly treated dropping in grade with the claim. MUNHAMEK has jumped out well between runs and is another that drops in grade with a claim. DASHING was below his best last time but gets down in the weights and looks likely to control the tempo. Selections: 5,3,2,9 Suggested Bet: El Soleado each way Race 8 AZTEC STATE will strip fitter third and swaps winkers for blinkers, he’s giving the impression he’ll appreciate getting out to 2000m now. GATES also looks suited getting back out to this trip following an improved run last start. ZAMBEZI KHAN will need some luck from the draw but won an easier race in dominant fashion last time and is a filly with staying promise. SABAN is still a maiden but he also shows staying promise and has claims with any luck from the draw. YOTOTSU is another with a bight future as a stayer and looks suited getting out to this trip. Selections: 2,1,5,9 Suggested Bet: Aztec State each way Same Race Multi: Aztec State (Top 2) + Gates (Top 4) Race 9 The inside barrier isn’t ideal for BERKELEY SQUARE but the speed should be ok and Luke Currie should be able to settle off the fence to give him clear galloping room when he needs it. BEAR STORY had excuses second up and may get a comfortable lead. ABERFELDIE BOY and SHAIYHAR both come through the Easter Cup, where Berkeley Square had no luck, and are in the game. EUPHORIC has a frustrating habit of being slowly away and may be looking for this trip. FULL OF SINCERITY had no luck last start. Selections: 1,4,6,7 Suggested Bet: Berkeley Square to win Race 10 CHORLTON LANE won well first up and the form from that race has held up through Extratwo and Green Fly. TALBRAGAR has resumed in great form for the new stable and should appreciate stepping up to 1400m. RHEINBERG has jumped out well since his disappointing run last start and defeated Chorlton Lane last prep. HE’S OUR BONNEVAL maps to use his short, sharp sprint to advantage. BIGOLINO brings a decent first up record and has been trialling well. FORTUNATE KISS once again has the wide draw but could turn the table on He’s Our Bonneval with some luck. Selections: 2,7,6,12 Suggested Bet: Chorlton Lane each way Market Market
