The Scout: Women’s World Cup Matchday 5 Posted on July 24, 2023July 24, 2023 | Posted by The Scout Group G – Italy v Argentina Italy coach Milena Bertolini sprung a few surprises with the squad selection, including the omission of captain Sara Gama. Consequently, they are a bit of an unknown quantity but still possess plenty of talent in the likes of midfielder Manuela Giugliano, goalscorer Valentina Giacinti, and experienced defender Elena Linari. Argentina have yet to win a game at a Women’s World Cup but will be hoping to cause a surprise in the group stage. Atletico Madrid’s Estefania Banini is their standout performer, and she will look to link up with Mariana Larroquette who will move to Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League at the tournament’s conclusion. Draw @ $3.60* Group H – Germany v Morocco Expectations have been slightly tempered in recent years for two-time winners Germany but on their day, they can match anyone. Alexandra Popp is the headline name with Svenja Huth, Klara Buhl, and Lina Magull forming a very capable supporting cast. The surprise loss to Zambia in their final warm up game was a much-needed wake up call. Captain Ghizlane Chebbak, the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations Player of the Tournament, is the focal point of a Moroccan side competing in its first World Cup. Rosella Ayane and Fatima Tagnaout are two players who could cause the German defence some problems. Germany to win @ $1.10* Group F – Brazil v Panama Brazil legend Marta is set to play in her sixth World Cup but at 37 years of age, is likely to be a bit part player this time around. The South Americans will expect to get off to winning start, and Barcelona forward Geyse is someone they will hope can unlock a likely stubborn opposition defence. Panama are another side appearing at their first finals and will struggle to get out of a group containing heavy hitters Brazil and France. They are likely to set up with a back five and a single striker, with key player Marta Cox the one to watch in midfield. Deysire Salazar is the team’s rising star. Brazil to win @ $1.04* Multi Italy v Argentina – Draw Brazil v Panama – Under 3.5 Total Goals Germany v Morocco – Goal in both halves @ $ 12.07* *Odds correct as at 9am, 24th July 2023. Market Market
