Scott’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on March 8, 2018March 8, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MAGIC PLANET was afforded little luck on debut, should derive great benefit from the experience. FIRST STRIKE could not have been more impressive at trials but will likely settle last. ALCINA is your typical Paul Jordan runner, jumps and runs. BAM’S ON FIRE went close to knocking off Assetro, serious form reference. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – MAGIC PLANET EACHWAY Race 2 TAXAGANO was impressive first-up at an unsuitable trip. He could even roll forwards to lead this field and goes close. JERAFT was eye catching in defeat last weekend, if he handles the back-up will be hard to beat. GREY ENIGMA has been contesting far tougher races than this his entire career. FLOWER OF SCOTLAND is finally starting to settle and can go on with it. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – TAXAGANO EACHWAY SuperPick - Race 2 No. 1 TAXAGANO - Money Back Race 3 GET OVER IT was a shade disappointing first-up from a freshen. With his regular senior rider back aboard should be finishing much closer. THE CELT was very well supported for his new stable and was enormous. MAX ALMIGHTY is flying and is also super consistent. ONE SHORT box seats after a strong first-up win. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – GET OVER IT EACHWAY Race 4 BATTLE HERO was extraordinarily strong lumping 59kg to victory in the Pinjarra Classic. This is easier and he rolls straight to the top. REBEL KING was well below his best in that race and was a strong fresh victor. ROYAL MISSILE is up massively in class and poorly weighted against her rivals. DREAM LIFTER can run a race in his likely swan song. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – BATTLE HERO WIN Race 5 WESTERN TEMPLE put the writing on the wall last start, even at the shorts and on a track unlikely to suit, he should still be too strong. SONNEN is drawn awkwardly and never won a race at Ascot but his first-up run was stronger than it reads on paper. COUGAR NIGHTS is going well even though finishing midfield. ALREADY FAMOUS next best. Numbers: 3 – 11 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – WESTERN TEMPLE WIN Race 6 MONEY MAHER will need to break a weight carrying record to win this race but his first-up effort against older horses was excellent. ACTION was only plain at his second run this preparation but fresh could be in his favor. THE BIG SHOW could find the front and dictate. ARCTIC STREAM is an eye catcher who will wind up. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – MONEY MAHER WIN Race 7 RECOILED is hard to catch but his fresh effort last preparation would see him go mighty close here. SCALPEL has been freshened, has a gear change and finally draws a gate. JINGTANG is a question at Ascot but should get a world perfect run in transit. ATACAMA SKY needs things to go his way but can figure. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – RECOILED WIN Race 8 LADY LE JEAN looked all at sea when she was forced into the roll of pace maker. Her previous win was impressive. DYNAMITE DREAM is honest as they come and she’ll win plenty of races. HOBOKEN looked the winner last weekend and is 1 from 1 off the back-up. AKIKO flies across and parks outside whoever leads. Going well for the Midwest Madam. Numbers: 16 – 14 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – LADY LE JEAN EACHWAY Quaddie (Races 5 – 8) 3 1,2,5 2,4,6,7,10,11 4,5,6,7,13,14,16 Bet Now
