Race 1

BROUGHT TO LIGHT (8) was a good effort off the back of a freshen up when 4th last time out, faces a challenging draw but has strings to his bow and looks a major player in this. FLOAT MY BOAT (1) faces a good challenge but has the draw and forgive him for the last run as the track was very muddy and he returned to his old ways, think he will be an improver in this. CURADH (7) is racing well and has plenty of high speed, draw is awkward for him as he might have to try and do it at both ends. DOURADO (12) has improved in recent runs and is a novelty chance with that improvement. JIMMY ROCKS (4) has been sound since returning but is capable of better, needs to find that in this grade.

Suggested Bet: BROUGHT TO LIGHT (8) to win.

Race 2

PENNY BLACK (8) impressed me with her return run, she has been the benchmark of the mares grade and had a rare error two starts ago, went away and came back with a strong fifth to Magnificent Storm, importantly has the draw advantage over her main rival and looks hard to beat with that run under her belt. LITTLE DARLING (9) was brilliant in a recent trial, and her high speed is her asset, will be savaging the line. DELIGHTFUL PEG (5) is a talented type who will be looking for the top on return, good test for her but should strengthen further this prep. Novelty chances to some handy types which include EASTBRO CHRISSY (6), STARLIGHT DREAM (10), RUBY LOVERA (11) and HEAVENLY GIPSY (12).

Race 3

LUCCA (7), here we go again, he is in such good form this block but will likely have to do the work again and if he does win it’s most likely not going to be a huge margin, but he deserves a win and that’s my hill to die on. ELWADDELL (2) has good early speed and will look to lead and will run a big race if he can cross. OUR VINNIE (1) creates interest and has the speed to be prominent, also can be cheeky. SOHO MOONRAKER (5) faces a tricky draw but has good early speed, likely goes forward and races close to the speed. MASTER PUBLISHER (6) ready to win but has been racing well when he hasn’t been used as much. Chances to CHACO EAGLE (3), THELITTLE MASTER (4) and GULLY GUM (10).

Suggested Bet: LUCCA (7) to win.

Race 4

MAGNIFICENT STORM (9) has come back in dazzling form and looks to charge across and win again, he will be rock bottom odds, but he will bring up win 51. SOHO SHAKEDOWN (1) will be looking to hold everyone else out early and be on the back of Storm, strong place chance but will likely be challenged by IM LIGHTNING BANNER (4) who is very nippy, but OPAL HUNTER (3) could also get involved, start will be intriguing. BETTORS PRIDE (5) will be running on, he is versatile and a strong top 4 player. Looks tricky for ALTA TRIBUTE (6) who is racing well, and SWEET PINS (10) has drawn to get a soft run and is a novelty chance.

Tips: 9 1 4 10

Suggested Bet: SOHO SHAKEDOWN (1) to place.

Race 5

Good race. SCOOTER B (8) won well last time out but this will be his biggest test since returning, wouldn’t be diving in too short but does look a major player again as he searches for 4 in a row. CAPTAIN STIRLING (9) is a highly talented type who has a large chance to improve sharply off the first up win, he can do work in his races and will be dangerous. GOODTIME LOUIS (2) will look to lead early and looks a chance to run along and has options from there. MAJOR DISCO (11) is racing in consistent fashion and appears a decent top 4 player. Awkward draw for ATLAS THE TITAN (6) and FULL SWING DENARIO (7) who are both going well and capable, but maps are bit more challenging. ILLAWONG MUSTANG (5) is speedy and is a novelty chance if he could cross early.

Suggested Bet: SCOOTER B/CAPTAIN STIRLING to Quinella.

Race 6

Intriguing race. LUVBITE (10) is flying, he is essentially off 60m and is hard to go against but it’s not going to be an easy task, you’d want $4 or better about him in this from back there and could get it but he continues to defy the handicaps. SHEER ROCK LADY (3) trialled well and is building into her preparation, will be looking for the top and if she does lead, she will be rolling along. ALCOPONY (8) was a solid effort in his first stand, should bounce off that well and could fly under the radar a bit in this. ARTFUL MAJOR (7) is consistent and shouldn’t be too far away. Good race.

Suggested Bet: ALCOPONY (8) each way.

Race 7

MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (7) is in top form and will be charging out looking to continue that good form, few hurdles for him but will run a big race again. CAPTAIN SAID SO (6) will be looking to keep the advantage, he is a consistent performer but not sure whether he can absorb continual pressure, might find out tonight. TURBO JAY (4) is a good front running type and will look to also get to the top, he has been naughty as of late and on his best behaviour he will go well. SAIFA (5) is racing consistently and drawn to be close enough with LOU LAMOUR (10) who will be using his speed late.

Tips: 7 4 6 10

Suggested Bet: TURBO JAY (4) each way.

Race 8

LEAVEAMESSAGE (1) has decent speed and has the draw to lead, mile looks to suit and expecting him to be hard to beat. GELSOMINO AMAL (11) caught my eye on Monday and was a much better run, should punch through and be close enough and be dangerous late. AKOYA PEARL (2) is talented but can be wayward at times, best is good enough to win this. YAWOMA (8) is racing well enough to feature, will likely run the gate to get forward and be around the novelties with MANHATTAN MOON (5) who has been racing against stronger fields but has an awkward draw. BURGHLEY SHARD (12) will be running on well but needs some speed.

Tips: 1 11 2 8

Suggested Bet: GELSOMINO AMAL (11) each way.

Race 9

Open race. WICKED HUSTLER (4) better suited in this grade and looks a decent chance, if he puts it all together, he will go very close in this. MORE SASS (1) on ability would just lead and win this race, but she is incredibly hard to catch with inconsistent form, comes in fresh and could be a sharp improver. GETN WIGGY WITHIT (3) will settle close enough and looks a chance with IDEAL INTEREST (5) who is a quick beginner but needs to cross down in this. BET ON THE RIVER (11) will be running on well from the back row and chances to GOGGINS (12) and ICY COLD (6).

Tips: 4 1 3 11

Suggested Bet: WICKED HUSTLER (4) to win.

Race 10

ADMIRAL DARCY (4) is racing well without a great deal of luck, drawn to be close enough to the speed and expecting him to be dangerous late. MAGIC CAPTAIN (8) is racing well since coming to WA and must be respected here as he is a versatile type. SPUDMEISTER (2) looks the likely leader and will be an improver in that position, has options from the draw. JAMIE KIM (3) capable but be more confident if he led. CORDERO (9) is ready to win, will be getting home well but needs some genuine tempo. SUGAR STREET (6) a novelty chance from an awkward draw with SALSAWITHSIERRA (7).
