Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 9, 2026March 9, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 YANKEE LOVER (10) has put together a couple of solid performances and looks a major player in this based off the last two efforts, expecting a safe beginning and can pick and choose when he is put into it. LINE THE STARZZZ (6) is a major player in this and could see a chance of her punching through and getting to the top, if she was to lead, I think she would win but she does need a little bit to go right in the early stages. ULTIMATE TESS (3) did everything right and won in moderate time last time out, could be the favourite and a touch of unders, capable but always a risk with her manners. ALDEBARAN BOYD (9) comes in fresh and is to be respected and CHUMANI (11) has been luckless and racing well, expecting a decent performance in this, ready to run well. MISS FRANCENE (1) trialled up well and should be thrown into your early quaddie’s at a big price, should win one soon. Tips: 10 6 9 3 Suggested Bet: LINE THE STARZZZ (6) each way. Race 2 BEE BEE BEROC (4) has put together some solid performances with things not going his way, he can begin quickly and is well suited at the shorter course stand, looks very hard to hold out in this. MAJESTIC LINE (1) raced well last time out in a moderate timed race but should improve off that effort and looks to be building confidence, shouldn’t be too far away. LOTS OF CHANGE (10) has still brought back that subpar last 100m that we saw from last preparation and hard to get enthused too much about his chances due to that and being off a 20m handicap. THE HONOURS (7) is a winning chance if he steps safely, form has been decent. Novelty chances to ELISH STAR (3) and COL DU GRANON (5) who was in a bad mood after the false start last run. Tips: 4 1 10 7 Suggested Bet: BEE BEE BEROC (4) to win. Race 3 BEATITLIKEBECA (4) is a talented type on return and trialled up in very good time, looks well placed to make it a winning return in this. IM EUGENE (1) has the lovely draw and can speed out and run along and should be in the money. ROCKIN LE MONDE (2) has decent early speed but is finding it hard to break through, not confident that he can lead today. LUKE ATTACK (8) a novelty chance from the draw, early speed a concern as to whether he can hold a decent position. MACH FREEWAY (3) rises in grade noticeably. APOLOGIZE (5) and DEE JAYS BIG BOY (6) racing well but the map looks awkward for them although the latter sat three deep the trip in his last win at this distance. MACHANE SAID (9) a novelty chance, he will run on. Tips: 4 1 2 8 Suggested Bet: BEATITLIKEBECA (4) to win. Race 4 LENORA JANE (8) looks an amazing chance from the perfect draw, she comes in fresh and looks to be leaders back and is most likely to get the last look at them and even though she’s fresh, I think she can win here. SYNCHRONIZER (1) is racing well, deserved win last time out and is a good front runner, looks the likely leader but only reason as to why she wouldn’t lead is if they look to put one of their main dangers one spot further back. EKARA NAVAJO (4) might go looking for the top if that scenario does unfold and look for an improvement after a moderate effort first up, also comes in fresh. THE BETTOR SIDE (6) will be working towards the top and as we know, he is always in the money and should be again. OUR LILILOU (5) and HAVEYOUMETTED (9) will both be running on. Tips: 8 1 6 9 Suggested Bet: LENORA JANE (8) to win. Race 5 Open race. ELLEOFAREACTOR (1) holds the key to this race, seems to race better when not burnt off the but gets the draw and temptation will be there at the lightning lap. CAPTAINS COTE (2) has had two runs for the new stable and performed well on both occasions, major winning chance if she could lead, either way should be close enough to the speed. STAPLETON (4) is a quick beginner and might be positive off the arm, he is mixing his form a bit. LITTLE BITOF FUN (7) had every conceivable chance last run but this grade suits, may have to potentially sit three deep the trip but anywhere near his best can do that and still being in the money. REPOSSESSION (5) will be running on and STIRUP IRON JACK (8) drawn to get a good run and could improve numerically because of that. Tips: 2 7 1 5 Suggested Bet: CAPTAINS COTE (2) each way. Race 6 SOUTH SIDE STORY (7) looks to be hardest to beat here but will also open at a short quote, he is a big one paced type of pacer who doesn’t look to fill you with confidence watching in the run but seems to just keep on coming, hard to hold out. IDEAL INTEREST (1) has options from the draw but was sound last time out and with the perfect draw we could see his best. HOTFOOT IT (2) will come out hard looking for the top, much better horse when he hits the rail. RONALD SCOTT (4) is a hard horse to catch but can run well if he is anywhere near his best, trial didn’t fill me with confidence. JINGLING JEWELS (8) strong novelty chance. LEAVEAMESSAGE (5) hit the line better last time out and could be kept safe as an improving chance. Tips: 7 1 8 2 Suggested Bet: JINGLING JEWELS (8) to place. Race 7 GEARSINAWHIRL (1) is racing well and looks ready to break through, good early speed and over the lightning lap looks hard to run down. DOWNBYTHEAVENUE (4) is a versatile type and has decent ability, comes in fresh but found it hard to break through after some good performances last time in. AMERICAN TYPHOON (2) has been a noted improver, has good early speed but looks hard to cross the pole marker, could still get to the pegs and be dangerous late. KARAOKE STAR (10) moves to the Hayden Reeves stable and could improve in this, as a rule he has always liked this distance, keep safe. Tips: 1 4 2 10 Suggested Bet: GEARSINAWHIRL (1) to win. Race 8 Good standing start race upcoming. Could be a race to the first turn for supremacy in this. JILL MACH (3) is a proven standing start performer and normally steps quickly, her trial and first up run were very strong and if she could bounce to the lead she would take all kinds of beating. LUKES MISTAKE (4) will be looking to step quickly and get to the top; his recent form has been good and is a very good on pace type. MINOR CATASTROPHE (6) needs some luck but had none of that last time out and still hit the line okay, she was a winner track and distance two starts ago. SOUND WAVE (10) must negotiate some traffic but is getting closer to breaking through. GEE SMITH (8) is a winning chance with him being a reliable beginner. THOMSON BAY (10) and LONGREACH BAY (11) both must overcome difficult handicaps in a race where they could run decent times off the front. HES ROYAL BLUE (2) a novelty chance as he normally begins well. Tips: 3 4 10 6 Suggested Bet: JILL MACH (3) each way. Race 9 This is a cracking race. Many winning chances. BET IM HOT (2) is better suited in this and at the distance, first up effort was good at the mile and looks a decent chance to lead and give them something to chase. JUSTASMOOTH MIKI (1) was strong on debut, looks to get the run of the race and will be there at the business end. INSURGENCY (9) is a speedy type who trialled soundly for the return run, should settle close enough and likes the distance. ROSIES BETTOR (8) is a nice type; early speed could be a concern but has the ability. SWEET WISH (6) has put in 3 decent runs from 4 start, draw is challenging. EL RAES GIRL (7) is worth a throwaway on, she is good enough and obtains a pretty handy replacement driver and could be forgotten in the market from the draw. DROP THE ACE (11) has returned well and will be ducking and weaving and CINCH (12) is racing in top form but needs a few things to go right from the draw. Tips: 2 1 9 7 Suggested Bet: JUSTASMOOTH MIKI (1) each way. Market Market
