Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 27, 2025November 27, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 HUNGER STRIKE (1), FABULOUS DREAM (5) and WAVE REBELLION (8) filled the placings when they met at their respective last starts. HUNGER STRIKE (1) and FABULOUS DREAM (5) fought for the early lead on that occasion which enabled WAVE REBELLION (8) to finish over the top but I think the pace may be more sedate tonight so I am leaning to HUNGER STRIKE (1). WAVE REBELLION (8) and DELULU (6) will be the beneficiaries if the early tempo is solid and FABULOUS DREAM (5) should be thereabouts again. Tips: 1 8 6 5 Suggested Bet: HUNGER STRIKE (1) to win. Race 2 CHASING REX (12) followed a good all-the-way win with a solid 4th from the breeze in good time last week. This looks an easier assignment and he appeals as the one to beat. FAT LOUIE (11) resumed when a close-up 3rd here last week and has the barrier advantage over the favourite. XCITE ME (3) won three of five last time in and resumed with an all-the-way win but steps up in class tonight. ARIONROCK (8) is in good form and can give a sight at good each way odds. Tips: 12 11 3 8 Suggested Bet: CHASING REX (12) to win. Race 3 BETTORS PRIDE (3) crossed from a wide draw and was only beaten 2.2m when 4th in the Golden Nugget. He looks the likely leader again and should prove hard to catch over the shorter distance. GOLDEN LODE (9) has the best form in the event including an impressive win here last week but has the tough draw to overcome. BLITZEMBYE (1) and BLAZING REACTOR (10) will both enjoy soft trips on the pegs and that will be the place to be if they run a quick last half. Tips: 3 9 1 10 Suggested Bet: BETTORS PRIDE (3) to win. Race 4 MISTER SMARTEE (12) had the barrier advantage and beat MINSTREL (2) and MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) a fortnight ago but that is reversed tonight. The draw means that MINSTREL (2) is the one to beat and he should be winning if he finds the front. The big ‘if’ is PENNY BLACK (1) who has been flying in mares’ company and takes on the boys from the pole. She may desire to hold the top and if that does eventuate, this race is wide open with the top four selections joined by GEE HEZA SPORT (3), WAVERIDER (10) and MIGHTY RONALDO (11) as winning chances. Tips: 2 7 1 12 Suggested Bet: MINSTREL (2) to win. Race 5 PETES HONOUR (6) is the class runner of the field but is the worst drawn of the major chances. He is versatile and just needs a bit of luck in running to prove hard to beat. DAME VALOUR (1) has been racing without luck from bad barriers and looks a big improver from the pole. HER PRESENCE (2) has won two of her last three starts and should fight out the finish again. MIKIS PRIDE (3) has options at the start and looks the other winning chance. Tips: 6 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: PETES HONOUR (6) each way. Race 6 THE IRON DUKE (9) has been impressive since crossing the Nullabor and recorded a strong win from the breeze at his last start. The draw hurts but the staying trip gives him time to get into the race and he appeals as the one to beat. SORRIDERE (7) hasn’t been placed for nearly 12 months but he caught the eye here last week and looks ready to win. THELITTLE MASTER (4) is racing well and looks good each way anywhere near double figure odds. ATLANTIC GEM (1) is back in form and has the speed to lead if desired but is better suited over shorter trips. Tips: 9 7 4 1 Suggested Bet: THELITTLE MASTER (4) each way. Race 7 Extremely wide-open affair and taking the field in this leg in the quaddie will be a popular choice. FRISKY STYX (9) is the class runner of the field and is back in form but does need a genuine tempo. ELWADDELL (8) worked to the front from a similar draw last week and was only nosed out on the line in a two-horse war. FLYIN DISCO (5) has been placed in eight of his past 11 starts and should be thereabouts again. COLD HARD CASH (7) is another who needs a solid pace but will be charging home. All other runners have winning claims. Tips: 9 8 5 7 Suggested Bet: FRISKY STYX (9) to win. Race 8 SWEET IVY (1) drops considerably in class and she should be winning if she holds up at the start. BEAT THE BANK (5) is racing well and looks the danger, if there is one. GREVIS (7) hasn’t had much luck for the new stable and will be running on. LINEBACKER (3) didn’t show up at his first run for a new stable but will find this easier. Tips: 1 5 7 3 Suggested Bet: SWEET IVY (1) to win. Market Market
