Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 25, 2025September 25, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 STAR LILLY (2) led throughout to record back-to-back victories in August and led when 2nd in 1.54.8 at her last start. She has solid gate speed without being dazzling but she is a good chance to find the front and will give a great sight in that role. SWEET LUCIFER (6) has finished midfield in stronger fields at his two starts back from a spell and should be ready to run a big race. MADDY LOU (1) holds the key to the event and I thought she may sit and become a good each way chance but pre-race interviews could tell a different story. YOUR GRACE (10) is racing very consistently and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 2 6 1 10 Suggested Bet: STAR LILY (2) to win. Race 2 RAKLOU (2) crosses the Tasman with good NZ form and a 46m trial victory in solid time indicates that he will win many races in WA and tonight is likely to be his first. SWEET VIVIENNE (9) is absolutely flying and I don’t know how she overcomes this barrier but she is going too well to overlook. NASE VIRA (12) was held up in a hot field at her last start and can play a part if the race is run to suit. SWEET IVY (3) should be prominent throughout and can be in the money. Tips: 2 9 12 3 Suggested Bet: RAKLOU (2) to win. Race 3 ROCKANDROLLARTIST (4) has been battling wide or back row draws since recording an upset win in the Members Sprint four starts back. He looks likely to cross at the start and will be hard to beat if he can do that without burning too hard. INSTA GATOR (9) ran a solid 2nd here last week and has the strength to be put into the race when the tempo allows. ARDENS HORIZON (11) disappointed at his last start but his previous form in better company would make him competitive here at good each way odds. BLUTO (8) has been racing extremely well in stands but has also performed well from the mobile. Tips: 4 9 11 8 Suggested Bet: ROCKANDROLLARTIST (4) to win. Race 4 MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) dashed home in 26.3 when leading throughout at his last start and he is clearly the one to beat after drawing inside his main rivals. WATER LOU (1) will be a solid chance to run 2nd if MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) blasts off the arm and she can sit on him but will be vulnerable if that doesn’t happen. GEE HEZA SPORT (8) is race fit sand can overcome the wide draw. VANDERBILT (6) might take up the position in the breeze outside his stablemate and hang on from there. NEVER ENDING (9) clearly has the ability but I’m anticipating he will be driven softly first-up from out here. Tips: 7 1 8 6 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) to win. Race 5 D MAC (3) is the least experience runner in the field but his win in the Prelude indicated that he should lead tonight and it will take a very special horse to beat him. IDEAL BEACH (4) has won five of his six starts including the Westbred Classic and the Pearl and is the obvious danger. IM STEALTHY (8) had a similar drawn when a 10m 3rd to D MAC (3) and he will run a great race but it is hard to see him turning the tables. BETTOR MOVE MATTY (12) is an improving type with a bright future and he will be running on. Tips: 3 4 8 12 Suggested Bet: D MAC (3) to win. Race 6 HUNGER STRIKE (4) joins Nathan Turvey’s stable and she has very good Queensland form. She has shown she can work in her races but the query is she hasn’t been seen at the track for six weeks. KINKY (1) disappointed at her last start and hasn’t been seen for ten weeks but she will give a great sight from the pole if she is near her best. ILL BE GONE (9) has very good form on the eastern seaboard but has only had one start in the last 20 weeks and is drawn poorly. RUBY LOU (10) doesn’t have the ability of the others but she is race fit and could be the each-way value at double figure odds. Tips: 4 1 9 10 Suggested Bet: RUBY LOU (10) each way. Race 7 GREVIS (2) was only average at his first two runs back from a spell but his two subsequent efforts have been full of merit and he will give them something to catch if he can step cleanly and find the front tonight. STAR CASINO (11) went to the line full of running at his first run back from a break and has the strength to overcome his 20m handicap. CALLMEWHATUWANT (7) broke through for an impressive all-the-way win here last week and isn’t just as frontrunner. CHIVALRY (8) has been racing below his best but he can improve sharply if he can get into the race at the right time. Tips: 2 11 7 8 Suggested Bet: GREVIS (2) to win. Race 8 BETTOR FORTUNE (8) has impressed in winning all three starts in WA and his sectionals indicate that he should handle the rise in class. BETTOR ARCADE (3) has been battling bad barriers since returning from a spell and he could be a sharp improver if he could work his way to the front. MAXIMUM ROCK (12) will be hoping for a solid tempo and he will be charging home if that does eventuate. SWEET COCO (9) was a game 3rd here in good time last week but she looks set for a tough run again. Tips: 8 3 12 9 Suggested Bet: BETTOR FORTUNE (8) to win. Race 9 SWEET PINS (5) was desperately unlucky when tasting defeat for the first time two starts back when a close-up 3rd before bouncing back with a comfortable win here last week. This is his biggest test and he hasn’t shown a great deal of speed off the arm so he may be a risky punting proposition tonight but is still the one to beat. BELLY UP (6) will be the sniper and he will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. FULL SWING DENARIO (2) ran 3rd in 1.54.7 at his first run from a spell and will give them something to catch if he can find the front. HILLVIEW BONDI (8) will have to work hard from out here but he is very used to that and can still be in the finish. Tips: 5 6 2 8 Suggested Bet: BELLY UP (6) each way. Race 10 MALAKIE (5) has resumed with two solid 2nds and he will be hard to beat if he can work his way to the front. THE IRON DUKE (9) has good Victorian form and may be too classy for this field but he is first-up for six weeks and has a wide draw to overcome. MACHANE SAID (11) finished two metres behind MALAKIE (5) at his last start and has a nice trailing draw. RIPPER VIEW (1) has been placed in her last three starts and could be in the money again if she can sit on one of the fancied runners. Tips: 5 9 11 1 Suggested Bet: MALAKIE (5) to win. Market Market
