Matt Young’s Saturday Bunbury Preview Posted on September 19, 2025September 19, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 WICKED WINDERMERE (5) returns under the care of Aiden De Campo and looks a major player here, he showed good progression last time in and most importantly, the ability. Looks set to win a few races this time in. DOTTIES IMPACT (1) trialled up nicely and has the good draw, shouldn’t be too far away on what has been shown. SHEER ROCK LADY (8) nicely draw to follow through and last run was an improvement, novelty chance in this. SUKHOVEY WINDCHIME (2) has shown enough to be considered a novelty chance, should settle close enough to them. GAMETIME (6) has yet to really flatter but this grade appears to improve his chances even from the wide gate. Tips: 5 1 8 6 Suggested Bet: WICKED WINDERMERE (5) to win. Race 2 SUGAR BOO (2) returned off a freshen up well and is on the quick bounce, has some good early speed and looks hard to beat in this lineup if she can work her way to the top. ALTA KING (4) was in no mans land last time out and still picked up and hit the line soundly, looks better suited here to run a good race. DANGER (5) is dropping in grade, he’s a funny horse to follow but expecting him to be in the money, has decent gate speed when he gets it right. FOLLOW THEROCKSTAR (3) will be improved off the first up run and this grade suits. DAWSON SHARD (6) is a novelty chance. Tips: 2 4 5 3 Suggested Bet: SUGAR BOO (2) to win. Race 3 LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (4) has come back well and has good early speed, can see him spearing across to the top here and looking hard to beat as this represents a drop in grade on his first 2 runs back. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE (5) is a consistent performer but the draw is awkward to determine his map. SKIPPIN CLASS (6) has plenty of early speed and is right up to these, winning chance if he could cross but that is questionable. BALINGUP BOY (10) will get a good run through and is third up in the prep, should be getting home nicely, he can just mix his form though. FOLLOW MY STRIDE (1) is a novelty chance with HONOUR THE EAGLE (3) they could both be having an early battle for the top. THEYCALL ME STOOGE (7) will be running on. Tips: 4 10 3 5 Suggested Bet: LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (4) to win. Race 4 HEZ SPECIAL (4) returns and over the mile, this looks to suit. He is a horse who can run a good mile but obviously the question mark will be there over his fitness, expected to run well. ROSE OF CLARE (8) suited in this grade, will need to get off the pegs but is one of the major players, her last couple haven’t been as good as her wins. ISLAND TEE REX (10) had no luck last run but looked to have something to offer, expecting him to be getting home well in this grade. YOUR GRACE (6) will need some luck from the draw, he is racing well and knocking on the door. Tips: 10 4 6 8 Suggested Bet: ISLAND TEE REX (10) each way. Race 5 CYCLONE JORDY (2) is top tier talent; he looks to lead and win this on return but will be prohibitive odds for the Hall camp. LINCOLN LOU (1) couldn’t have been more impressive when toppling Swingband and Never Ending with a last section of 26.3, he will get the perfect run, and this will be a good test for him. CHASE ME (7) has done nothing wrong since coming to WA, this will be a good test and does look challenging from the draw. LAZI DAIS (5) creates interest as he could have a crack for the top and it’s a possibility to see him cross them, I don’t think he can beat this field, but he could place. CAPTAIN STIRLING (4), CONTROL THE ROOM (8) and MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (9) are all place to novelty chances. Tips: 2 1 9 5 Suggested Bet: LINCOLN LOU (1) to place. Race 6 FRANCO MOTU (7) looks very hard to beat in his comeback run, he is coming in fresh and will have to overcome the 40m, but he looks to have significant talent and appears hard to hold out. JILL MACH (2) has the advantage over many and can bounce on the lead and run a bold race here, she was a good winner at this track two starts ago. BLAZE AWAY (8) has the tedious task of overcoming the 50m handicap, he is racing well. TARTAN ROBYN (3), OFF THE CHARTS (4) both capable of earning off the 20m. GREVIS (5) won his last run but still doesn’t appear to be at his best, could get challenging off the 30m and DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (6) is racing well but 40m is very challenging. Tips: 7 2 8 4 Suggested Bet: JILL MACH (2) to place. Race 7 PHILTHEJUG (6) likely to charge across and probably finds the top again in this, she won well on Tuesday, and this field appears no harder, can lead, control and kick away for the win. CARA DIANA (5) has the chance to use some early speed; she can run a better race from there and the gate speed inside her isn’t solid. VYBRANT (7) will get back and run home, this grade suits. SANFORD BART (8) will be running on; he was luckless last time out. DENNINGTON HEIGHTS (1) is a novelty chance from the draw. Tips: 6 5 7 8 Suggested Bet: PHILTHEJUG (6) to win. Market Market
